Tiemoué Bakayoko | Chelsea player... finally

A few months ago it seemed like the majority wanted him until one performance vs Juventus.

That might be your impression but certainly not mine. Always felt the majority in here did not want him, even prior to the semi final. He didn't have great performances against City either.

He was poor against City as well. His positional play in the 5-3 game was a joke.

Oh yes please, I like a midfield player like him and I think he would be perfect for Jose. Stealing one from Chelsea again would be such a good payback for all the times they did it to us.

Didn't he score against them?

Yep, a header from a dead ball. But didn't play particularly well. He had the lowest rating of the Monaco midfielders.

In his defence he had a bandaged knee but he was waltzing around in the 2nd half of the away game getting caught a lot and not being very helpful.

I think the biggest criticism has always been that even when he plays well he doesn't look something special. Lemar and Silva always were always far more creative and Fabinho far better defensively. Bakayoko is a decent CM but with no niche, no outstanding attribute beyond his size.

A quick twitter serach will tell you the source of United hijacking the deal are all very poor and all coming from inside Chelsea as a way if saying 'Look he rejected United for Us' absolutely dreadful tactic from Chelsea to try and save face

From everything I heard, I thought Bakayoko was just a big lump of nothing who's only good attribute is his physicality.

But judging from that game, he actually seems surprisingly technically gifted. He had quite a few nice dribbles and surging runs forward. He's also more agile than he appears, and has quick feet to get out of being pressed.

Not a bad player at all. If he's only 22 then there's clearly potential there.

Baka to Chelsea, fabinho to us and Lemar to Arsenal? Only one of this is happening. Who ever gets their target first, others miss out

Lemar, I don't believe it a second, unless Monaco is ready to lose Mbappe this year.
Bakayoko and Fabinho, it's 50/50 in my opinion because Monaco wouldn't want to sell them this year, but wouldn't block at all cost in my opinion.

Do Chelsea fans really think Bakayoko is better than Matic? I am happy that we aren't in for him.

Good player but not the type of player we need. We already have Herrera and Pogba who play that b2b role. We need a proper DM.

I'm pretty sure Jose knows what he needs and has a better idea of his targets than redcaf posters. I find definite statements of intent very bizarre with regard to other persons vision or thoughts, when you've no idea.

How he's going to combine with Kante ? As I know Kante isn't an anchor DMF either, hr doesn't stick in front of the goal only but keep moving and pressing everywhere on the field. Bakayoko doesn't seem that he looks more look b2b midfielder.

Will be an interesting pairing.

How about a midfield 3 of Bakayoko, Kante and Matic as the defensive mid?

3-5-2 then ? That will only leave them with 2 attacking players upfront, Hazard and striker. That will be ridiculously over defensive team. I won't love watching them.

He would be 3rd on my wanted list behind Fabinho and Ndidi. Ndidi is already premier league proven and will become a big time defensive midfielder.

I think caf and united fans in general have wanted fabinho rather than Bakayoko. I do remember castles saying united wanted bakayoko last summer but due to faliure to sell bastian and schniderlin then we did not sign him. So for both mourinho and conte to rate him, he must have something we dont see.
Monao have signed Youri tielemans so they will sell one midfielder at least.

I do think we may see a plant from chelsea briefed journos saying united are in for bakayoko just to claim we were beaten to him by chelsea. Bit of revenge and good PR on their side. I would be very suspect of any links with him for now.

Both to me look like poor teams to me in terms of balance, first team has a no 1o and a no 9 both of whom are well known for not putting in the defensive shift, no dm, teams will cut through our mf like a piece of cake add to that having a no 10 kind of negates what pogba brings to the table what was the logic of spending 90 mn on a guy and not asetting up to best suit him.

Second one again has no real dm, hererra is decent but his strength is running all over the place harassing players having him sit back really reduces his impact on the field, also playing pogba as no 10 is again a waste of space as we have seen with juve he isn't ozil or james, his best attribute is running with the ball if he is already in the position which he wants to be without having the ball he isn't nearly as good.

Not really sure why either us or Chelsea would be in for this guy, but there have been enough links in the past to suggest we both are interested. Can't see him suiting a partnership with Kante, as they both move about too much, or with Pogba as they're too alike. Maybe a Pogba deputy, but prefer Pereira. Unless we sell Fellaini and replace him with Bakayoko, it makes no sense.

Matt Law said Bakayoko medical is delayed as he has small injury, so any news linking him with us should be taken with bucket of salt.

So i just googled Man United. Google shows some latest tweets.. in the past 10 mins, daily star and daily express have tweeted about us having a bid accepted .
Shit sources. what is happening?
Any real sources suggesting any interest, or just click baiting after the lukaku deal

Definitely has the ability too, whether he comes to the Prem and performs is another matter. But considering Matic for his size isn't actually that strong and wins very very few ariel duels, more importantly though Bakayoko is unbelievably faster than Matic (which isn't hard at all) and for a player with there position I feel that's important.

Tielemans and Meite. Arguably the two best CMs in Belgium last year - Dendocker and Pozuelo aside.

Not sure he's the best player, but rather than going for a midfield 3 with a defensive midfielder, b2b & attacking midfielder. Could we set up with 3 b2b instead with them all chipping in with the defensive work? Both Pogba and Herrera are best deployed as b2b, a third one gives you a lot of mobility in the middle and makes us less predictable.

Has a dominant league winner ever been shit on as hard as this if we do go for him? By a side in 6th no less?
If i were Jose I would still make an approach for Matic just to see what happens.
Why would conte sell matic? Why not have both Matic and the kid?

That's what I think would be the best course of action so we have more depth and options available. However Matic might want a guarantee on first team football which if we sign Bakayoko is unlikely as he will be our weakest available midfield option. At least Fabregas offers something unique whereas Bakayoko and Matic have a fairly similar skill set except Matic is slower and weaker.

He is not a very good player. All about physicality but not much else. His flaws have become apparent also in the CL.

I havent seen enough of him or Fabinho.. but if he isnt all that, then why are Chelsea not in for Fabinho? Too expensive?
