Who had their hopes up? One of the rare occasions where consensus is do.not.want. There has been little to know links and nothing from the papers and club to hint at this. Seems like a recent occurrence probably off the back of the supposed "gazumping" of Vhelsea for Lukaku. People who claim to have knowledge about him say he's poor to average.

Also, it seems like the overwhelming consensus here is that he's a poor player. I guess we'll find out, but I highly doubt Conte would've made him his #1 midfield target if he was. We just won the league with Matic in that position and Bakayoko has all of Matic's qualities but with added mobility and technique. Don't see how we aren't stronger in midfield than we were before.
Doesn't fit United's midfield requirements and I personally don't think he's all that good. The biggest setback for United with this deal is the decreasing likelihood of getting Fabinho.

Anyways, I really hope Conte experiments with 3-5-2 this season. Kante & Bakayoko as the legs and work rate beside Fabregas. It would be a midfield with everything and one that could compete in Europe. Power, athleticism, steel, technique.
Not many on here are very excited about Matic I think you'd find, and besides which, if we bought Matic we'd be putting him in the Kante spot in a 433 and have Pogba and Herrera do the running, which obviously isn't Bakayoko's game, the signing suits you obviously more than us. Not sure whats so hilarious about it, but to each their own.
Yeah I think most fans will be able to see it for what it is , a player having banter, i would find it pretty funny if it was me too just winding a couple people up . You have to have an extremely special level of arrogance to assume what that poster has.
