McKenna is still in his first ever manager job. So technically (by your particular definition of "technically") he lasts forever. :)

De Zerbi, he seems a demanding type, but then again he walked away from Brighton because he wants what he would get at United (or Chelsea). Not sure how the circumstances were at Sassuolo, but I think he managed them for a good while? Shaktar to Brighton, that's just promotion.
Was on the assumption he moves as reports suggest!

3 years, so I think Tuchels explosiveness gets overstated. It's no different to De Zerbi. Leonardo was a tool, boehly also and looking at what Bayern are doing, he might be on the right side of history again.

I really don't think that argument works. Even if we're less dependent on managers for continuity, that still matters. If anything, clubs who are notable for building strong football departments and not delegating so much to the manager seem to be less prone to changing managers frequently. Arsenal, City, Liverpool.

Anyway, my choice of new manager remains the same: Whoever Berrada and Ashworth have confidence in and feel they can work well with.
I agree with your final point. My argument was hastily written down and poorly worded, I'll give it another go. Ideally now we settle on an overarching strategy and philosophy which informs recruitment both of playing and coaching staff. As long as this works as intended, whenever we need to change managers that will be less of an issue than, say, going from Moyes to LvG or from LvG to Mourinho. Our squad should fit the next manager just about as well as our last, in a perfect world (no such thing, unfortunately, but still).Your final point ties in here, I think. If Berrada and Ashworth have a candidate they feel fit this and they can work well with, their longevity in other clubs shouldn't be that relevant.

Look at the list of clowns Tuchel has fallen out with - Leonardo, Boehly, Uli Hoeneß... is it really a surprise.

It depends on how competent our owners are. The only reason Tuchel suddenly fell out with Chelsea was because of the absolute weapon that is Boehly. He was very happy under Romans Chelsea where they had a great structure and he was left to focus on the team and the games.
With anything Ineos claim they want to be Tuchel is the perfect match.

Yeah exactly but some look at his previous jobs and just immediately go he's volatile and causes friction, they don't take time to considering what may have led to these fallouts with the board.

Tuchel. Experienced - Successful ’Big Club’ manager - Winner

Exactly why I want him to be appointed, yes I understand he's a short term appointment but part of the long term project INEOS want to build

6 clubs managed.
5 clubs he’s been 2 years or less.

Awful option.

Hope EtH stays.

This really doesn't matter in my opinion, there aren't many managers who stay longer these days. That's the kind of manager he is and honestly that's totally fine by me. Has proved himself at big clubs.

Haha. It is literally the problem at United. We are constantly changing managers. It’s a MESS!

Oh. It doesn’t matter. :wenger:

We need to stick with EtH but Tuchel wouldn't even be my top 3 choice even among the poor choices that have been circulating.

I would choose Poch, McKenna and De Zerbi above Tuchel, and I don't want any of them, but Tuchel is a Chelsea wash-out who always falls out with clubs and has no chance of being our long-term project guy.

Of the touted replacements, the number of managerial appointments lasting 3 years or more in their careers:

Southgate - 3
Potter - 3
Pochettino - 2
Frank - 2
Tuchel - 1
De Zerbi - 1
Amorim - 1
McKenna - 0
Zidane - 0

Southgate or Potter your preferred targets if Ten Hag is sacked, then?

Well McKenna is off the list for now, so who do you think has the higher ceiling out of the other two

who always falls out with clubs and has no chance of being our long-term project guy.

How many times does this nonsense have to be refuted before people stop spouting it?
Why this is nonsense has been explained so many times already I am going to let you find it yourself.

Yeah the post from that Chelsea fan had no effect

I know people want to make excuses for the fall out but it is still a fall out with the board. It might be for breaking their nail or not meeting targets, a fall out is a fall out. A divorce is a divorce, there are no sub categories to it.

Also, people talk about what an underwhelming season for United for Ten Hag's sacking, clearly haven't seen how many points off Leverkusen they finished or the cup competitions. yet yeah Tuchel is the man.

Leverkusen had a freak season how many more times does that have to be emphasised, yes the cup defeat was a bad one but let's not forget they happen to teams over here too.

Leverkusen having a freak season dont mean he gets outplayed by them... I guess you would also argue that Stuttgart had a freak season too cause they finished above Bayern too?

No admittedly they shouldn't be finishing below Stuttgart, however still feel he's a good fit for the next couple of seasons. Once we back in Champions League we could then be a more attractive project to Alonso/Nagelsmann. I accept the fact that he doesn't stay at clubs more than a max of 3 years

The thing is Tuchel doesn't guarantee CL qualifications.

I mean I am not blindly Ten Hag in, I just feel the options out there are very limited. I did like when we were linked to Nagglesman, but again, Tuchel is exactly what we want to go away from.

I have never really rated Tuchel, which may be why I am so against him.

Nothing to do with excuses. He was thriving under the Abramovich-led Chelsea where they had a structure very similar to what Ineos want to implement. He didnt fall out with Chelsea until Bohley came in and asked him to do a completely different job then what he was hired for.

I would love to have Stuttgarts coach or Leverkusens. And yes Bayerns season has been underwhelming. But lets look at the injuries and how much better both Leverkusen and Stuttgart have been compared to how they usually are.
Its also not like we ended up in third. We ended up in 8th with our worst ever Premier League and Champions League season. Tuchel actually managed to increase their points from last year and they got to the semi final in the champions league.

I didn't really rate him until I saw the difference he made to that Chelsea team, this might surprise you but he's only my first choice of what's available. If the likes of Alonso/Nagelsmann/Inzaghi were available then would definitely put them above him. Unfortunately due to a variety of reasons that's not the case but still feel we should make the change.

To be fair, Bayern ended with 72 points. In the 34 game Bundesliga, that would have been enough for the title in 10 of the last 12 seasons.

Arsenal got more points than our 99 league title win, what does that mean?

Yeah the fact he would fit into what INEOS is trying to implement is why I would like to see him appointed. I will admit he got it wrong at the crucial time in Champions League semi final second leg, however didn't help some of that forward line wasn't fully fit.

Weren't the substitutions forced due to injuries?

We dont know what INEOS want to implement until its done. He done well at Chelsea for a short period but was still 19 points of the top.

The same things that people get at Ten Hag is the same issues with Tuchel in respects to recruitment.

Saul, Zakaria, Lukaku, Fofana, Sterling, Cucurella, Aubameyang were all his signings

At PSG he got Mbappe, Icardi, Paredes, Kehrer, Diallo, Gueye, Sarabia

I mean his record is not great either.

I am all for change but Tuchel is in the wrong direction imo.
