Yeah.

Can safely say this one is dead if Schweinsteiger is happening. No way they selling both or there will be riots.

Bayern are definitely not selling two established German players (fan favourites) to us in one window.

We would be ripping the heart out of Bayern if we get the 2 of them.

Pep would be under so much pressure early on and if anything went wrong he would be gone.

I wonder if they will sign a replacement or bring through Kimmich and Hojbjerg - have a feeling Pep will give youth a go. Tbh he always has Thiago, Lahm, Alonso, Alaba, Martinez and Rode to fall back on.

I'd take muller over suarez and neymar fwiw.

Only players i think are better than him atm are ronaldo and messi and i'd still consider taking him ahead of ronaldo just due to the age of each.
Not that were getting any of them.

A team can play with 4 attacking players. In many cases it would do so if all of them are in top 10.

As I said, I think that Muller is comparable to them. Just because he isn't flashy enough, doesn't make him worse than them. Compare stats, how good the team is with and without him (compared to Suarez/Neymar), trophies, ppg with or without any of them, performances in big matches, Muller is comparable, if not better.
Nope, 3 attackers is more than enough. 4 would be complete overkill and ruin the balance of the team. 3 in midfield is necessary to give balance.

And no he's not comparable. It's not about being flashy. Muller isn't going to beat a man or two and curl one into the top corner like Messi and Neymar can from out wide. He's not fast enough he's not gifted enough. What he is, is a terrific player with a good all round game, but neither as could he displace Suarez who is a better centre forward, and obviously he's not going to get ahead of Messi and Neymar as a wide forward who are the best in the game.

On a purely footballing level, only if you're absolutely deranged. Suarez scored 30 goals a season twice, for Liverpool and Neymar just got 39 goals in 51 games.

If I had to choose to sign a player for United (who isn't called Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar) then Muller would be my choice.

It won't happen though. But he is really a fantastic player and one of my favorite players. Would absolutely love to see him here.

Poor choice. I'd pick Courtois or Aguero. Weaken your rival.

Whether it's Muller I wouldn't like to say but my guess is that we will be signing another established German in this window. LVG will know that for all the footballing nous Schweiny will bring he will be a lost soul off the pitch. Little can prepare you for a huge lifestyle change and my guess is that LVG will be wary about this signing a player at 31 who has spent in his entire career in his homeland.

I think signing Schweiny enhances our chances of nabbing Muller. Muller too would be buoyed by the fact that another German is in place.

Get Reus and Hummels while were at it too, bring in the Germans

It's never going to happen, there's more to it than just offering money. In fact, we have a better chance of signing Lewandowski if we give it a big push.

Was comparing him only with Suarez and Neymar. Obviously, Messi is on a different level.

Muller scored in the season before this 27 goals. In the last 6 seasons, only once he couldn't score 19 goals or more.

What is important to be mentioned is that he isn't a striker like Neymar or Suarez.

And hence he wouldn't play ahead of them. Neymar got 40 plus goals this season plus you really need to be a dribbler to play as a wide forward in that team. Muller obviously isn't the centre forward Suarez is so I don't see the case for him getting in.

But, but, but....believe in the Schmeichel!

Only way this happens is if Pep has an agreement to take over here from Van Gaal and he slowly sells us their best players. Otherwise this transfer is literally impossible.

This is stating to look a little like the madrid mess.

I think ed had just yold madrid that they can have de gea but we must get a player in return (i.e ramos/bale).

I wonder if he's doing same with munich-they can have di maria but we want muller/someone else in return...not sure there's a massive issue about who that player would be

Or they really want Di Maria and are willing to give us Muller in return?

Pep might want it. But unless Bayern is counting on Pep to be their manager for the next 5 years, they will overrule him.

There's no way the Bayern management can justify to the fans that they sold Müller to get Di Maria. I doubt this could ever happen. Bayern has this "Müller must always play" aura. The fans blamed the loss against Barca partly on the breaking of the unwritten law that a Bayern coach may never substitute Müller in an important game

Maybe Muller and Schweinsteiger are the old-guard obstacles that Pep needs to move on as they have too much influence in a dressing room he's attempting to re-shape.

Stop that now, the thought of slotting the two of them into the team sheets for next season is just

Höjbjerg, Pierre-Emile
Javi Martinez
Kroos, Toni
Lahm, Philipp

Neuer, Manuel
Pizarro, Claudio
Rafinha
Ribery, Franck
Robben, Arjen

Schweinsteiger, Bastian

That is the treble squad. The red ones have already left. The green ones are at Bayern atleast since 2009/10.

Possible that Pep wants to get rid of all the foreigners: The Germans, the Dutch, the French, the Austrian and the Polish. Spanish and south from there only. :wenger:

Was never a goer this one, neither from Bayern nor from Müller's perspective. Time to go for other targets instead of pursuing and losing time with improbable transfers. Schneiderlin and Otamendi are waiting.

This was never going to be on the cards this summer. Moreover, any glimmer of hope which may have existed was extinguished as soon as we got Schweinsteiger. If only for appearances sake, Bayern Munich would never sell us such a high profile German international (not to mention such an important player in the prime of his career) in the same transfer window. They don't need the money, it would anger their supporters, and it would make them look weak. Even if Muller clamoured for the move, they'd dig their heels in and refuse. Hopefully, though, some seeds have been planted with Muller and his camp. In a year or two, who knows...

I had such a weird dream earlier that United sign Muller. So it is definitely MullerON!

Getting rejected by muller is a good thing. Its looking more & more likely that we will be his destination if he does decide to move.

He's more of a final piece in the puzzle than anything else so no worries yet. Same goes for otger strikers like kane.

I think you're probably right but I think Muller could hit 30 playing with Messi. He'd figure out how to play with Messi, be the beneficiary of his passes and Barca win a ton of set pieces and have no threats, which Muller would be.

Kane is 21ffs. You can't be serious in saying we shouldn't sign a 21 year old because he hasn't had 4 seasons with 30+ goals.
I never said United shouldn't sign him, first off. I'd be thrilled if United bought him but to say he's far better than Cavani is laughable. He's nowhere near proven enough. Never kitted up in the Champions League and only turned out twice for England. I like Kane's potential but that's all he is right now; potential. He could be great. He could fizzle out.

Honest question, because I don't follow Bundesliga regularly. Is Muller a regular first 11 starter for Bayern?
