Thomas Müller

Expect this to be part of a "players United failed to attract" piece once the window shuts.

The thing is though if Pep was sacked because he decided he wanted to move Muller on then regardless of whether this is his last season or not, it sends the message out to the next manager that he is basically obligated to want Muller and get along with him, making the player more powerful than the manager, something I find very unlikely at your club. It's all by the by of course as Muller wont be going anywhere, I just don't buy the idea that Bayern would ever allow a player to have that kind of power.

I don't see it as Bayern giving a player power. The player is part of the furniture at Bayern. He's not trying to make trouble for the club; he is the club, or at least a great part of its self-image. Müller to United isn't like the Rooney to City business, where the interests of the club and player were at odds. It's more like if some club had wanted to buy Bobby Charlton in 1969.

Oh OK then, let's just continue with Rooney as our only striker.schwiensteiger was 'not for sale' too.how did that up?let's be honest here, muller is a massive, massive upgrade on Rooney.

I think the bit you are missing is that the person you are speaking to is a Bayern fan.

Something along the lines of
Look at how united should be lining up:
..........................Lloris..........................
.....ramos......hummles...ottamendi...
Alves.......Pogba.........Vidal..........Bale
...........Ronaldo....Kane.....Muller........
(ignoring the fact we were never going to spend the £500m or so that lot would cost)

Where does Gaitan fit in?

This one is definitely not gonna happen.

Can't see Bayern allowing Muller to leave, especially after allowing fan favorite Schweinsteiger to leave. It's probable that Muller wants a better deal, and he's probably got wind of the kind of money United would be willing to offer him to switch to old trafford. If United are desperate to sign a world class striker, there'll be some serious money involved.

It's a very extreme and hypothetical scenario, which has nothing to do with the reality anyway. Pep clearly doesn't want Müller gone, he wants him to stay and starts him all the time. The whole 'Pep would sell Müller for the right price, but the club doesn't allow it' thing is utter nonsense. What's Pep going to do with all the money? We could spend a lot more this summer anyway if we wanted to, but there's no player available that would improve us. We'd just lose a fantastic player and regular starter and would weaken ourselves significantly. It makes zero fecking sense, even if Pep didn't rate Müller and had full control over transfers.

We obviously just bid for him, possibly a few times already but Bayern are clearly not going to accept any deal for him. Interest from us and Muller isn't exactly guaranteed a starting spot, however we have no chance.

Or some shitty English newspaper just made up a story out of nowhere to sell a few more copies. As if Müller had any connections to the Express in England and would use them to put pressure on Bayern for a new contract while no German newspaper takes the rumour seriously enough to even pick it up on their website, let alone in print.

Especially as it has come via an Express story. The same journo that live on MuTv said that Bale was a done deal. It's bullshit.

I would make a Muller yoghurt joke at this point but I have not read the previous few pages and I am sure some cnut has beaten me to it already.

Possibly. But I can see Manchester United being a temptation for Muller. He'd be the star striker, and be much better off financially. Bayern would not allow Muller to leave, and so he'd have to tread carefully how he expressed any possible interest in joining United.

Cant believe people bought this. Thomas muller is like bayern ryan giggs, and they're winning everything with him. Why on earth would he wants a move to united? We're not even guaranteed top 4th

Why can't you just accept this is happening?

Because it's already driving me nuts that Bayern and United play at the same time almost every weekend and I can't watch enough of Basti :(. I have to convince myself that I won't miss out on watching Müller every week as well. It can't be, it can't be true :(

The thing is, the bundesliga is just not competitive at the moment because Bayern are so superior. Each season is all about how many points Bayern will win the league by. And so for the Bayern players the season is all about taking on the Spanish teams in the champions league. Interest from the top Spanish and English clubs will tempt Bayern players I think. And probably why Guardiola may leave at the end of the season.

It isn't, don't worry. It's the Sunday Express. The amount of shit in the Express is unparalleled.

I'm not ffs . Not the slighest bit. But thanks ;).

Breakin news! A friend of Neuer's told a malaysian newspaper that Neuer wants to go to join Liverpool!.

Jesus christ, the Express. Bet they got a mole in our locker.

More chance of me waking up tomorrow with a twelve inch cock hanging between my legs than us signing Muller.

Just let us have him.

Bayern would win the Bundesliga even if they started every game with 10 men. You don't even need to replace him really. Tea lady would do.

Let him come to a league with a proper challenge.

Exactly. Throw enough money to turn the players and the clubs head. His departure wouldn't stop Bayern from winning their league and his arrival would make this one even more competitive. ;)

Do it Woodman!

Has anyone linked United to Messi yet? I mean if Muller is linked, every chance Messi/Neymar should also be in radar. I know that my next phone won't have a 10,000 mAh battery, and I also know Muller isn't going anywhere.

Van Gaal doesn't seem to give him more than 30 minutes anyway so I reckon you are not missing much.

He's clearly having fun with the lot though. One might say, he finally feels at home...

Looks more like he's on vacation. That's when you usually make pictures like that all the time with new people you've just met.

basically are not signing any more players, except perhaps Pedro but that's been done to death and gone a bit quiet so the papers have to make shit up to keep our transfer window interesting

This is never going to happen, there would be riots in Munich. I wonder how some people believe this. He may be interested, but Bayern will never sell at least not this summer.
