Regarding Rumminigge and respect I think winning WPOTY twice doesn't give him a free ride as a CEO (I don't know his title?). And I can't find it disrespectful to highlight that he's commenting on a rumor, if so I apologize, not my intention.

Regarding killing rumors with comments it's the opposite. I think that's common knowledge if you're in to management. I understand that he's trying to put water on the fire but saying nothing, or talk about something else, is a much better strategy. Changing focus so to say.

A rumor is always stupid until you comment on it.

Anyway sorry to create emotions. BM had been a favorite of mine since Beckenbauer, Hoeness and Mūllers glowing days. I have always like there style and attitude. My first time visiting Olympiastadion (right name) was in around 1976 I think, my father was a huge fan of your club.

No trouble. We have different views on the handling of rumors. Thats fine. Wish you all the best and have a great summer(no Müller fun so:nono::D;)
Great to hear that your father was a big fan. Hope that he had fun in the 70s.

Once more for the heck of it!
Rummenigge talked to Sportbild and had the following to say about Müller:
"I told him (Müller) last year: If he plays well, we will reward him for that. We want to pay our top players well and in line with the market. We won't just insist on contract durations and salaries if they perform accordingly."
"I have the feeling that Thomas will never leave the FCB. When Thomas ends his playing career one day, we'd like to incorporate him into the club (in another role)."

Also emphasized that Müller is a player that has "no price tag" and is absolutely not for sale.

Could all be empty rhetorics, but I hope he's speaking the truth. I could always imagine Bayern without Schweinsteiger, but never without Müller. They can make him the top earner in the world of sports for all I care as long as he stays.

I never thought Schweinsteiger would leave Bayern either.

Who knows. I don't think it'll happen, but in football you never know.

I agree. Cant see it. We also have to be realistic so. Every player has a price tag. The club and he may never think about it but IF someone(for the sake of the idea) bids 250 million or more we surely would have some "what we could do with that" moments. But I cant see such a bid and even then; he is Bayern. Our superstar for the next 10 to 13 years. I see him stay till he is over 30 for sure. A new adventure then? I would be fine with that.
But he is a Bayern fan since his kids days and where do you go after Bayern? 2, max 3 clubs come into play. Could very well stay till his playing days are over.

Thinking about the top 10 players in the world. I only just kept out Muller, but I do feel like he is a player we should do everything to get. He is one of the younger better players in the world and would surely cost much less.

He could replace Rooney long-term and keep us at the top in world football as other top players start to fade.

I think £70m would be a good bid!

We could get Schweini to give him a bell and tell him about the delights of Manchester.

So what is Mullers best position anyway? Is he a striker? Better suited on the right wing? Or is he better as a #10 ? I remember him being very good as a 10 behind Mandzukic in the 4231 setup under Heynckes (2012/2013).

I'd answer all these questions with "Yes"

He is best as second striker. He can play in this role centrally or from the right wing. During the WC he played as central forward and was fantastic. Still that is the only time that he really performed in this role.

He did a couple of other times - as long it is not against parked busses (but then every other striker alone has problems, too) and he can use his movement he is fine. He e.g. played striker in the 3:1 against City two years ago and in other occasions. The problem is not Müller in this role but that he has to play it different because of his strengths and that the team around him has to use it. He will loose out against two big bully defenders when he cannot move.

But I guess he has everything to drive defenders nuts...

Say we suggest 150m Euros, will Bayern still brush the offer aside? At what point will they start listening?

With the TV and sponsorship deals around these days unless financial fairplay dictates it the biggest clubs don't really need to listen to any offers if they're not interested in selling.

Think he's just one of those players who simply are not attainable for any money like Neymar from Barcelona, Suarez from Liverpool, or Ronaldo from RM.

Sorry, should have made myself clearer. I meant for Bayern.
In the last 6 seasons he has missed only 11 games in Bundesliga, playing the grand total of 193 with only 25 coming as a sub. I doubt anything to change this season so yeah he's a definite starter.

Let us try it different...

How much money would Real need to offer for a Manchester United player that...

... is homegrown player out of the region and plays for the club since he is 10 (and if you see e.g. class photos of that 6 year old Müller he was the only guy who wore his Bayern stuff in school, too)
... was the top scorer of the team in the recent 6 years (and in 4 single seasons of that) in all competitions despite not being the main striker and only 25 years old - top scorer not only in goals but in assists, too
... no scandals, no tatoos, very disciplined
... is an easy character that takes care of everybody in the dressing room, in the recent years grew more and more in a leading role on and off the pitch where he is the team speaker, too - whenever it gets critical
... is World Champion, won golden and silber boot and the silver ball in the two recent World Cups, was in the Ballon d'Or list 4 times in the last 5 seasons.
... is very consistent. Had more than 10 goals and more than 10 assists in 5 of the 6 last seasons no matter what position or how many injuries of others etc.
... is very intelligent and has a very strong mentality with which he can influence the other players, does not take himself too serious
... your team has the goal to grow e.g. in the Chinese market - you remark that this player gets Justin Bieber like receptions there es the Chinese seem to like especially the funny side of his character
... is the best entertainer for fans and the team and leads the celebrations after title wins
... is the absolute media love - when your coach does not want to go to media dates of the TV channels after the matches they ask instead for him to come and let him analyse the match...
... never has missed more than 1 club match in a row because of an injury or illness since he was 10

Dunno lol.

But seriously, I don't think it wouldn be ludicrous if we did accept 150m for Giggs/Scholes back in the day

We don't have such a player, now feck off and sell us Muller.

Why people keep mentioning Muller? He isn't going anywhere else. Bayern will not sell, they don't need to, it's a suicide for them. No point falling in love with a girl you can't have :nono:

It largely depends on the player. If he tries to force a move the fee will be significantly less. As you listed he has given some good years at Bayern, so if he's unhappy or wants a new challenge say next year it may very well happen for not the big fees that are mentioned.

He has won it all and has some good year in front of him. At the start of next year and season he'll be 27 and would probably want to see out his later years with a big contract and he's on what? 5m EUR per season? United can at least double that.
