Thomas Müller

Because there is so much competition for places at Bayern now, that level of player will not want to sit on the bench. Also appears to rate LVG as a coach

Surely there will be other CL clubs interested in signing him though?

I'm just looking for holes in this rumour mostly because I really dislike him, just below Suarez and Busquets in my book. Don't get me wrong, he's class. Intelligent player, the kind I usually like the most. Shame he's a disgusting little scrote though.

Would be an excellent signing, especially if Mata was utilised in the hole. He'd hit his Chelsea heights, and Muller would easily get 10-15 goals.

I think it's entirely unfair to put him in that category. We're not talking about a player who provokes his fellow professionals with racist comments and bites someone marking him. He reminds me a bit more of Rooney than those two in the way he gets very frustrated if he feels he should've had a freekick/penalty. Just needs to work on his temper.

I totally agree on all counts. It's just one of those irrational things, I think. That, and the way he seemingly celebrates every goal he scores like his wife just agreed to a threesome.

You've never scored a goal in a football match, have you? Even when you're losing it's a fantastic feeling.

100 percent sure?

Yep.

He is a outstanding player at one of Europes top clubs, playing in his own domestic league, there is no chance what so ever he will leave Bayern.

After his public interview, we can only deduce that either he's angling for a better contract or he wants out. If it's the latter, I fancy our chances

If he really just wants guarantees of playtime he'd have a private conversation with his manager

I scored loads and loads of goals in Youth soccer and loads and loads of TDs in AMERIKANISCH football. After the first few, I only really got worked up about the really important ones. It's just a temperament thing I think.

As to losing, I sorted plenty of people out on my own team if they celebrated too much if we were behind. I found the observation that if they spent half as much energy and enthusiasm playing as they did wanking themselves off we might not be getting drubbed, tended to work well! I also really enjoyed pointing at the scoreboard when some team scored a TD or a goal in garbage time that didn't really matter!

There are probably a lot of reasons this won't happen but us not being able to guarantee him a starting spot isn't one of them. He'd be (arguably) our best player. We'd shift other players to find room for him if we had to.

This actually raises a slight problem in that there's no guarantee that LVG would play him on the right. He could easily decide he wants him as a shadow striker, which spells trouble for most of Rooney, Mata and Kagawa.

He should probably just hang tight until bayern gets rid of Pep and then he'll be a 1st 11 player again.

He's not a winger though, so with Mata, Kagawa, Rooney AND Muller - might be a difficult one to manage (assuming we play a 4-2-3-1 kinda formation)

I think most would happily let Kagawa move on if it meant bringing Muller in. He has 78 goals and 53 assists in the league and CL at the age of 24. He's well on course to score over 200 club goals in his career with 99 club goals in 5 and a bit seasons already. Van Persie for example only passed the 200-goal mark this season when he was a few months shy of 31. Muller's productivity seems to slip under the radar because it is genuinely outstanding. And according to WhoScored Muller managed 10 goals and 7 assists in the 17 league games he started on the wing this season.

I'd be happy to get rid of Rooney and build the team around Muller's consistent productivity in attacking areas. He seems to have a better footballing brain and links up better with different types of attackers than Rooney.

His big game mentality is another huge plus.

If the Bayern München FO allows a Müller transfer they're facing a fan riot and the next annual general meeting will be a living nightmare.

Such a deal would cause disturbances within the club for the foreseeable future and that's not what you want when your team is eying the Champions League final in Berlin 2015.

So I know you guys don't wanna here this, but now way this is going to happen. Anyway, I think Müller is using the opportunity of LvG's offer and his unparalleled popularity among the fans to push his agenda. With Robert Lewandowski arriving from BVB and Mario Götze being expected to raise his game during his second season at Bayern, Müller is facing unprecedented competition. Oh, did I mention that Arjen Robben also suddenly stopped getting injured?

Meanwhile Müller absolutely hates being benched for the important games which is probably why we're seeing this opportunistic behavior, he's probably eying certain guarantees about his role in the squad or simply a payraise to make a place on the bench easier to bear.

I don't know what it is yet, but he's not seriously interested in leaving unless he's told to go which will not happen because of the above mentioned reasons.

If he hates sitting on the bench at any time he should come to one of the massive teams where he'd start every week, like United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, Dortmund, or Man City.

Müller has been participating in over 50 matches this season, starting a lot of them, but all those top-class players care about are the crucial games in the CL elimination rounds.

However no top club in the world would hand out guaranteed starting spots for those matches unless you're called Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

I am getting a little bit tired of Bayern players taking the piss and using us in their tussles against their management.

His versatility would be a real asset too. He seems capable of maintaining his productivity and performance level playing anywhere across the frontline. My only slight concern is that he wouldn't really address the lack of real pace in our frontline, but then does it really matter if he can get in behind defences anyway?

....there is a lot more of this... :D

Exactly, people often mention that he's got no real speed, no this or that, but this guy's intelligence on pitch, movement off the ball to beat the offside trap and so on is just extraordinary. I remember watching German cup final against Borussia where somebody claimed that Müller is rubbish and he brings nothing, just for him to exploit BVB's highline 2 minutes later in a fantastic way, go 1v1 and beat Weidenfeller. Pretty mich summed him up.

Oh, did I mention that Arjen Robben also suddenly stopped getting injured?

You had to jinx him, didn't you?

Maybe I'm being a pessimistic cnut, but after a World Cup year you never know what might happen to his glass legs. Hope I'm wrong.

Agree with the rest of your post though. There will be a massive backlash from the fans if Muller were to be sold.

This!

Hopefully we don't waste our time. Even if he isn't guaranteed 70 games per season, he still played enough, it's not like he was sitting on the bench most of the time. He would risk another season like this for Bayern anyway, it's not like Guardiola is known for SAF type of longevity. Sooner or later Bayern will have another coach anyway and most of the coaches would fancy Müller.

And finally, we should stop buying players who could/might/are somehow used to play various positions for us (we have enough of those already), but just buy a proper winger and a proper midfielder for once! Müller can play on the right, but we need a proper quick and technically good wide man with a bit of brain, dream signing would be Hazard or Reus, but that's unrealistic, so we should get a evel or two below and look at Pedro level players then.

Muller is a strange player but I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

Can we not sell 2 of our surplus players for 80 million like chelsea have just done

We still chasing shadows while Chelsea are adding world class players to their team.

Not a chance of signing him.

Schweinsteiger maybe but never in a month of Sundays would we get muller.
