Ah I don't even know. I give up.

In your mind maybe.....
Why would he signed with 7th place united when hes been playing with one of the top clubs in the world. Muller is also a homegrown talent. Its like scholes being convinced to join valencia because united had just signed jsv
It will be more like Scholes being convinced to join Barcelona when we won the league in 2003 and they finished 6th.
Same thing. However i wanted to give a modern example to bring things into perspective
We are closer to Barcelona in terms of our size then Valencia. Anyhow, I am just being a pedant, there was no way Muller was ever leaving the best Bayern side in decades to come to a team which is pretty much directionless at the moment.
I think there's a strong chance that players are using are perceived interest as leverage in their negotiations. However, LVG strikes me as the kind of guy who won't be anybody's bitch, so perhaps that's why he's been so proactive in stating our lack of interest in certain players (Fabregas and Kroos.)In your mind maybe.....

His not even a striker.Didn't want him, don't need him - we have enough strikers as is.
Whatever you want to call him, he plays as a forward and scores for Bayern. #10, 9.5 etc - we don't need him atm so it was always a non-story.His not even a striker.
Muller to put it one way is just a strange player to describe his brilliant though.Whatever you want to call him, he plays as a forward and scores for Bayern. #10, 9.5 etc - we don't need him atm so it was always a non-story.
agree. he doesnt have a set position. excels in many different roles.Muller to put it one way is just a strange player to describe his brilliant though.
To the Leon Osman thread...Right, on to the.....

If you actually read some of the posts by the Bayern fans in this thread, you'd see he actually does have reason to move. He just wants more appreciation and game time, despite quite a few subs and being omitted in a few key games, he is top scorer and has been excellent. But he needs that reassurance that he's not a peripheral figure, he wants to be in those important games, but it's hard to know for sure as Pep may have more plans to sign new players... Not to mention, he and LvG are "old friends", so with a bit of nudging and a lack of clarity from Bayern + Pep, we may end up with him.
Why did you bump this as though my post was invalid? He has signed a new contract because it is most likely Bayern and Pep have given him the clarity he sought. He did have reasons to move, I never said he was going to, did I? But you know that, eh?So yeah, funny how things turn out eh?

No, it's "actually" useless of you to do this. What do you seek to achieve from this? Even in hindsight there isn't anything at all wrong with my post.Just saying, it's funny how things "actually" turn out.

Just remarkable RT @OptaFranz Thomas Müller was involved in 1.57 goals per #FifaWorldCup game, the best average since Eusebio in 1966.
Wow this is just a load of rubbish you spout there and are flawed on so many levels. The scholes analogy is a misconception. Some home grown players at our club have a strong bonding with the club under Fergie. Fergie has a way of convincing young (and old) players United is the club to stay for life (partly if not solely) because Fergie is a manager they trust who will make them big and it's a stable club to stay for many trophies to come. Why would he signed with 7th place united when hes been playing with one of the top clubs in the world. Not confirmed at all.I just get this thread out of the dark - and then it could get closed - as it is confirmed that there was an offer.

Original germán quotes do not imply a bid from United specifically. Yet the English media make it seem like yet another "snub". Typical.
Agreed, looking at it he never actually mentions Manchester United. Even if we did he also said there were more than 1 club who made offers, why is the headline singling out United.
I think it's well known that LvG made approaches for Robben and Muller as one of his first moves. Good to see he has the ambition to go for players of that quality but all the money in the world won't turn some players heads.
the quotes are complete bollocks. He said something like: "I realized, that I might have been able to earn even more money after a transfer."
He is not talking about Manchester United or any other concrete offer.
I dont even know why players repeat this bullshit about money all the time. He became on of our top-earners. Playing for bayern also helps his sponsorship deals. Including sponsorship deals/marketing he is surely a top5 earner. Eventually top3. Nothing wrong with that but to think that he could earn significantly more money by playing for another club is just not true. He loves the club and the city, but if he really gets a better offer (not only money), he´ll leave.
Its so frustrating to see that fans buy into that. Because fans expect players to be emotional idiots, players pretend to be emotional idiots. When its time to back-up their talk, fans usually end up very disappointed.
Where exactly would he play? We already can't shoe horn Rooney, RVP, Mata, Welbeck, Hernandez and Kagawa into a team.... Never mind adding Muller!
Müller can play CF, SS and RW on a very high level. I'm sure Louis van Gaal would have found a spot for his favourite player.
