Thomas Lemar| Staying at Monaco

60m seems right for him and I may increase it to about 70m at best. He's a good player but can't see him as a super star to deserve 100m tbh.
To Monaco it's not even worth selling him for 60m due to the vast amounts they've made in player sales. If a club wants him in this window then, be prepared to get fleeced.

I think Monaco don't want to sell him at all, so they raised the price tag to 100m which no club will pay that for Lemar I believe. They got enough money this summer so they don't have to sell anymore.

If Coutinho goes for the reported €150m. Then it's only fair Monaco would want a large chunk of that incoming transfer fee from Liverpool.

That if Monaco have the actual intention to sell, which I don't think so.

I think they'd sell if Liverpool give them €100m out of the Coutinho deal. But you're right, they're under absolutely no pressure at all to sell.

Alot of that £150m would be unrealistic add ons

For 60m I can't see where he would fit in Liverpools team. He won't play as 1 of the front 3 over Mane and Salah, he could play as the LCM with Wijnaldum and Can but I'm not sure he's got the combativeness required for that role.

Since joining Lyon in Jan: Depay - 6 goals and 9 assists in 1346 mins. (89 mins per G+A).
Total Chances created: 35 (38 mins per chance created)
Chances created from open play: 22 (61 mins per chance created)
Dribbles completed: 42/83 (50% successful, 32 mins per successful dribble which is around 3 per game)

Lemar from start of last season: 9 goals and 12 assists in 2972 mins (141 mins per G+A)
Chances created: 87 (34 mins per chance created)
Chances created from open play: 49 (60 mins per chance created)
Dribbles completed: 55/92 (59% successful, 54 mins per successful dribble which is around 1.5-1.6 per game)

Shame we sold Depay for way less :wenger:

Depay had no impact to our game play,we too have sell on clause on his contract?.So whatever we got out of the deal is best I suppose.

I don't think Lemar is stupidly good, stupidly good enough to frighten us or any other top team.

Good player but not someone I'd be building a team around. His productivity isn't amazing either. If Liverpool want to spunk €80m+ on him, let them fire right ahead. There's a reason he's only attracted genuine interest from the Arsenal and Liverpool tier of football clubs.

And he has not impact on Lyon's game play either.

That was tongue in cheek comment.

Monaco have already lost Mbappe, Silva, Bakayoko and Mendy for a combined 330m Euros. They will want CL football minimum so there's no point in selling an asset who will help them qualify for Europe and should improve and increase in value when they have all that money in the bank. With Mbappe they weren't going to get more money but with Lemar they might well.

330 million Euros. Jesus. Just think if they sell Fabinho and Lemar then it will be creeping towards half a billion :eek:

Highlights the level of Ligue Un.

Lemar is a excellent player and he'd be a cracking signing for Liverpool. I hope it doesn't happen.

Firmino
Lemar - Mane - Salah

Great attack.

I don't see 'great' there to be honest. Top 4 worthy though.

Not really, Memphis's record last season is basically limited to 3 games against out of form teams.
Lemars production isn't all that great. But he'll be playing more as an 8 for us. He has a skillset there that we're lacking with Lallana/Coutinho not available. You're more or less paying for the player he will develop in to, it's risky but he's a top class talent and worth it. Hoping we get it wrapped up.

This is enough reason for someone to go for him. I would love United to be in for him

His productivity is linked to the way Jardim uses him and how Monaco plays, the assists are spread and the goals are scored by the two strikers. So it only makes sense to talk about productivity if you don't watch Monaco, otherwise it doesn't come to mind.

I mean his XP G/A, he exceeded them greatly last season. He's a great young player but he ran hot. Of course it could just be the set up like you said and I suspect it may well be. For instance Costa regularly runs hot for Chelsea but over a period of a few years you realise it's just the player he is and how good he is. Some players are just like that.

Out of curiosity, what are the expectations and what role do you attribute him?

Firmino
Lemar - Mane - Salah

Great attack.

I see Firmino thriving more in a 433 system where he can drop off and allow the two wide men come inside. A great part of his skillset will be limited in a 4231 which requires more of a No. 9 presence (a solanke or Sturridge)

If Liverpool bid 80M for him, we might as well wait and top up another 20M for Griezmann.

Gosh, that's a super bargain relative to Lemar ! Not to mention Griez's marketability is much much better !

he does that for us now. Mane and Salah are more akin to strikers for us with Firmino dropping deep. He even covers in our half!

The Lallana role and covering for Salah/Mane when fatigue and injuries set in. He's a fantastic talent and I think playing him deeper is a better use of his skills. I just don't think end product will or should be the defining trait for him whence characterising. He brings something we currently lack with injuries in midfield its just much like with Pogba people can't wrap their heads around paying that much for someone who isn't going to score 20 assist 20 cure cancer and shit gold.

I'm under the impression that we have the same opinion concerning the end product. I was refuting the idea that he should be judged on that too.:)

Thank feck. A loan makes a lot more sense. Still I'm wary, we're an injury away from relying on Sturridge and an unproven 20 yo child. Sturridge can't and I doubt will ever play an entire season again. which is fine but you need other options in that case. We're a Firmino easy forward light.

Is he that good?
Very Very good. Improvement on coutinho and will make them much better and add a set piece threat also. Not liking Liverpool's window at all if they get him. They will be getting two top world class prospects in him and kieta.

That he is not, there's a severe under-rating of Coutinho on here, he wants out but that doesn't negate his abilities and not just that but the way he's delivered for us. He's not our most important player but he's certainly our best. Although Mane is looking set to grasp that mantle.

What do you expect them to do, forever sign trash like Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam? Our rivals have money and will buy good players, get used to it. It'll be even sweeter when we beat them all and win the title.

On another note Monaco have done well re-investing although it helps they're not an English club so even with all the cash nobody is looking to fleece them . I'd almost say from the outside looking in there's a gentleman's agreement not to set absurd prices for players between continental clubs. Tielemans, Moura, Balde Diao, Jovetic is a very good list for next to nothing comparatively. I'm sure I've missed a couple too.

Love your confidence but it feels empty. Dont think we will even come close to it. Top 4 would be our best hope.

Every summer people say City will be unstoppable after they buy another dozen players, and every season they are nothing special. Just as I did with Ferguson, I also trust Jose to build a team capable of winning anything, even if it's not full of flashy world class players on paper.

Sure. That is why, I don't believe in a scenario where City/PSG will destroy football
