Rumours are that Jericho will win the rumble now as Orton has some sort of injury that may rule him ou of Wrestlemania.

He is apparently injured, in much the same way as Austin in 2001?

There are others but I've forgotten who, I'd still expect an Orton win (as much as I don't rate him.)
Orton is one of the better wrestlers on the roster IMO. He'll take a beating and give one out at the same time. Sheamus on the other hand pummels his opponent into oblivion but doesn't put over other talent very well. I do like Sheamus, but I wish they had taken him up to the World Heavyweight Title scene after his feud with Christian.

What about Barrett? He's got good momentum.
I like where they're going with Barrett. It feels like they snubbed Sheamus in favour of him though, but Sheamus is doing his babyface thing at the moment so, knowing WWE, they wanted a heel to feud with Orton. Sheamus is better than a mid-carder performer, his promos are quite funny, they always try to incorporate 'arse' into it somehow. If he works on the way he puts talent over then he can become a solid main-eventer.

Just look at Mark Henry. The match he had with Daniel Bryan in the steel cage was fantastic. Bryan came across as a serious title contender despite being half Henry's size and weight. It was a match that I really enjoyed and Henry played his part in that.

He'd be my choice to face (nay beat) Taker (let's be honest, if you can only do one show a year you might as well retire), as I've said several times, give him a HUGE push.

Ziggler was in the same boat up until about 2 months ago, since then he's been absolute quality.

TBF Bryan could make me look good, he's an incredible in ring performer, he just needs to develop an all round persona which he is lacking.

How many can you name?

I would like to try that, given time I reckon I could get easily more than 50%.

But it would need to be on an excel file so I could keep track of my rights or wrongs...

I'll have a stab at the bottom row left to right ('cos it's the easiest...)

Stevie Richards, D-Von, Bubba Ray, Edge, Rikishi, Mick Foley, Taz, Chris Benoit??, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Eddie Guerrero, Bull Buchanan, Kurt Angle, Umaga??, Raven??, Lita, Hulk Hogan, Booker T, Chris Jericho, RVD, Lance Storm, Brock Lesnar.

The Undertaker is not going to be dropping the streak to any current up and coming wrestler on the roster. I doubt they would even be considered a big enough draw to get a match with him at Wrestlemania. He's not going to be losing at Wrestemania to Sheamus, Barrett, Ziggler, Bryan or anyone else.

If he is going to get a match this year they will likely go for HHH again simply because he does not have a feud and the match is easy to set up after last year. Abit like the Micheals rematch. The fact that it was considered the match of the year last year makes it an obvious one to go for. It will be a big draw.

I think most people on here underestimate how much Mcmahon values Taker's loyalty to the company for over 20 years by some of the suggested names who would get some mometum by taking the streak. The streak is Taker's reward for not leaving the WWE to WCW for more money in the 90's, not leaving the Federation to do movies for 8 years, not taking part in in steroid trials against the owner, not refusing to drop the belt against a disliked rival in his home country in his last match while champion before jumping ship, not suffering from drug abuse for years and generally being disliked by alot of the actual roster while being the biggest draw, not leaving the company three times to return and let them down on each occasion, and not every asking for a release after several severe injuries and then turning up for the last five years on the rival promotion and not leaving the company after an almost unparalled two and a half year push.

I don't think he will ever drop the streak while he is still capable of putting on one great match a year. When he gets to what Flair was like in his second WWE run then he might lose the streak tp put over a big up and coming talent but that's not going to be this year. He will go over whoever he faces at WM if he is ready for a match and my money is on HHH again.

The one you said umaga for is actually Haku/meng

I'm pretty sure the one you put as Jericho is meant to be DDP.

Have to say, I really enjoyed RAW this week compared to last weeks mixed bag. I love Mick Foley, and he was awesome in the main event, Jericho was fecking hilarious, Bryan, Truth, Barrett, Ziggler and Punk all cut good to great promos at various points... and I've come full circle on Laurinaitis... He's quality in his role, really come on leaps and bounds since he first started onscreen, and he was great at the end here.

Oh, and there was an added bit of Funkasauras to sweeten the deal.

This has been rumoured for ages because the Rumble is in Orton's home town this year.

The WWE normally book hometown wrestlers to lose.

It would be better if Jericho started a feud legitimately against Punk, as in have a good storyline, rather than go the RR route.

I am still a bit miffed by the whole Jericho angle. He is coming out as a face, but doing absolutely nothing. Overall though it seemed like a good Raw. Great to see Foley compete, would be immense if he came back as mankind or cactus jack.

Elsewhere Punk was gold on the Mic as usual, also I thought Census destroying Swagger was brilliant. Really saw some intensity and the storyline is building nicely, hopefully to a cena heel change.

Jericho's coming out as a face and intentionally pissing everyone off because he's supposed to be heel! As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, it's natural to cheer for a returning wrestler but his cryptic videos indicate a darker turn for his character this time around.

Good to see Cena losing it for a while. We're getting to the heel turn slowly but surely. As for Lauranaitis... he's still screwing up his lines! Barely managed to get CM Punk's name out during his angry rant. I like that twitch thing he's doing though, but his promo delivery is still horrendous.

What a moron... can't see him being involved in Wrestlemania now... or even being involved in the company for much longer.

They better give us a 10 minute Bourne vs. Gabriel match before they fire him...

It's hard to tell with promos. For example the build up to Brodus Claus return....

Punk is really running the show for now though. Imagine if they get Austin to make a return at the rumble, win it and then put Punk over at WM. Yes I know it won't happen but would be amazing

Brodus Clay's debut kept on being pushed back due to script re-writes of RAW. Apparently they decided on doing the Funk gimmick the very night of his debut. Chris Jericho's return on the other hand went absolutely as scheduled. He's also a WWE legend, there's no way WWE would create a dark image for him and then not follow through. Even they are not that retarded (one would hope).

I'm surprised this hasn't been bumped. Very enjoyable Raw for two weeks. I did burst out laughing after Cena's 'angry' face, looked like he was trying to push out a lodged turd. Also, CM Punk getting the GTS on Lauranaitis = Stone Cold Stunner on Vince. It was coming.

Rumour doing the rounds that they're going to unify the world title belts.

Yeah I did enjoy this weeks. Very confused at the Zack Ryder angle... a broken back? That's 6 months out at the least if they want anyone to take them seriously which is shit. Unless they are going to turn around and say that they got it wrong at first diagnosis.. A few reckon that they're going to use it to ditch his goof persona and come back more serious.

and yeah I did lol at Cenas angry face.

With about a tenth of the impact/reaction mind... I think they've shot the gun on that moment too early, but then I can see why they have done it just before the PPV to create intruige.

Anyawy, this weeks RAW was nowhere near as good as last weeks... but it was still okay. The Kane/Cena/Ryder stuff is just a black-hole of shit though... possibly the worst storyline for sometime.

I'm looking forward to the Rumble though, and a huge part is thanks to the excellent Bryan/Show/Henry program from Smackdown. They're doing a fantastic job with Bryan's character, and I hope they don't pull the rug out from under his feet too early.

Should we do some Rumble predictions?? Winner, most eliminations, shortest stint, longest stint, no.30 entry and so on....?

I was going to suggest this!

Good, they should unify the title belts, have away with brand extension and have everyone compete to be THE number 1. Whilst the heavyweight title is a world title I don't take it very seriously as the WWE title is the one with the prestige.
