Was sitting thinking, do we have any idea where they are going to go with Mania this year?

Sting - HHH looks likely with some sort of stipulation.
Brock - Reigns also looks like the way there are going, only real question is does Rollins cash in after Reigns wins?
Wyatt - Taker has also been rumoured.
Rollins - Ambrose, Ambrose and Rollins will come together again, although I think Ambrose will win and Rollins cashes in later.
Cena - Rusev, Rusev won't be defeated before then.

That still leaves Orton, Daniel Bryan, and Ziggler without anything.

Cool.
Looks like they signed Disturbed's mascot.

What I'd like to see at Wrestlemania...

Main event: Bryan v Brock
Reigns v Rollins v Ambrose
Sting v Triple H & Flair
Miz v Mizdow
Undertaker v Bray Wyatt
Cesaro v Rusev
Big Show v Cena (not because I want to see the match but if they are fighting each other then they are not fighting anyone I actually want to see).

I realise that I'll be lucky to see 1 of these happen.

Also, did anyone else expect New Day to be a heel faction after all the promos? I really did.

And where is Tamina Snuka?

NXT was soooooo good.

Owens' bleeding added to the debut.

Can't wait to get home and watch nxt, even just reading how the show ended surprised me, and I am a man not easily surprised.

Definitely, looked like hell of a shot he took!

Love Finn Balor, such a theatrical entrance.

EDIT: Apparently CJ Parker hit Owens so hard he cut his hand open too

Watching NXT and thinking just how terrible RAW has been for most of this year.

Rename this NXT thread - everything else is terrible in comparison. Loved the show, loved it all, top to bottom.

NXT is gaining a massive cult following rapidly. I wasn't there back in the day but I imagine this was how excited people were by ecw, just without the axe hanging over their heads knowing that wwf would eventually win. NXT right now, and it may be an overreaction, but it gives you something to believe in when it comes to pro wrestling. If this is truely Triple H running this, we may be in for a bright future because this really is real wrestling.

It's interesting, it seems on NXT they're given freedom to experiment, try things a bit out there, whacky even. Throw characters together and see what sticks.

They use this freedom to make good wrestling shows. Heh.

On a serious opint, can we get a mod to rename the thread? And I mean that, NXT Is the best rassin' going, and needs to be recognized as such. Change the thread name!

@Damien can you genuinely rename this to "The NXT thread"

First things first, if you're gonna rename the thread after the best wrestling about it should be the NJPW thread, NXT is second.

Holy feck what a show that was, every single match delivered, even above expectations in the Lucha Dragons Vaudevillains case. I really hope Finn doesn't use the paint on every show, will get old VERY fast going off the start of the year.

Fully expected them to do what they did in the main, following Balor and Itami they really needed a heavy hitter heel, and Owens fits the bill perfectly. Now just to wait until the next special in March.

I imagine it'll be a PPV only special attraction

Right I'm going to watch it, if it's half as good as I've heard, this should be fun!

Only half way through but feck me, this is something else. The wrestling, characters, presentation, everything! Balors entrance was amazing. He, Corbin and Zayn...license to print money!

haha, but its true. The presentation and the build is the best aspect of it.

Charlotte gets a stupid 2 minute loss on Raw which was pretty pointless (and repping how the division is treated)
On NXT the divas title match gets a "this is wrestling" and "this is awesome" chant after a great build (pretty much from the last NXT special) and they are given time to wrestle.

It was nice, once again, to have a commentating team to just that. Enhance the show rather than spoil it like you get on Raw and Smackdown.

(not so)Live updates via @Duffy
Just finished. The swerve is perfect to the last detail. The walk out, the theme music the replays and the copyright notice in the bottom left hand corner. It's done, great finish, great show then...wham!

Just miles ahead of anything around at the moment. The writing is great, the characters are great, the entrances are great, the women's matches are great, the men's matches are out of this fecking world at times. Triple H is seriously laying down a marker!

Sascha Banks, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn have superstar written all over them. Money makers right there.

@Damien thanks for the thread name change.

What is going on in WWE right now? Their feeder show is kicking ass, it's the most exciting show of the week, all those filler ppvs could literally be NXT shows and we would buy them.

Actually, imagine that, the big four wwe ppvs + money in the bank and 7 NXT ppvs a year. That would be amazing.

From what I've read both Triple H and Natalya wanted a Charlotte win (as it makes obvious fecking sense) but Vince vetoed it without explanation. Surprise surprise. If NXT is any indication as to how WWE will be run when Vince pops his clogs or retires then we're in good hands. Slum it till then though.

Finn Balor is going to be a superstar attraction imo. He may have a bit of mic work to do but he works like a motherfecker and with the (I'm assuming) PPV attraction of the theatrical body paint he'll have people hooked.

In HHHs conference call, it seemed like he had no say in the match. Charlotte vs Nattie was a really good match on the previous NXT special. Seeing what happened on Raw made me laugh but not in a good way.

Im interested to see what they do with Neville now.

Just saw the full Balor entrance. Wow, he really gets into it.

You'd hope it translates well to the big crowds on Raw. The NXT crowd seem to lap it up but anything weird or different can fall flat on Raw.

Balor's is surely too cool to fail though.

The Ambrose shoot is extremely good and interesting if anyone wants to read it.

Says the scripting of promos ruins things for him and that the shield hit people for legit and refused to lie down for Cena

@phelans shorts do you download NJPW every week? If so is it easy to find?

The Japanese style is very different, in that they don't have a weekly show. They set up the matches for each PPV during the PPV preceding it, then tour for two weeks or so before the PPV where you'll have shows every few days.

You occasionally get tournaments thrown in between PPV's as well, most notable is the G1 Climax which had something like 13 shows in a month this year. Pretty much all of which were of a standard comparable to this NXT special.

Personally I watch on NJPW World, their version of the Network, but that's because I'm already into the product, so a fiver a month for all the shows doesn't bother me, but pretty much every show winds up on dailymotion which they don't have much of an issue with (they see it as a chance to expand).

I can fire some of my favourite stuff at you if you want?

interesting set of tapings, seem to be building Becky up quite a bit, my guess is she's challenger on the next special.

Hyped to see my boy Chad debut, even if it is to job (that said, jobbing to Tyler Breeze is nothing bad). Surprised they've gone to Corbin vs Bull so fast. Delighted at how it turned out though.

Also GREAT to see them make Itami look like less of a dweeb. He's really looked terrible in how he's been booked, I get Finn being priority but still.
