Anyone who hasn't needs to go and look up Kota Ibushi vs. El Generico from DDT. Doesn't matter which one, they're all amazing.

Pretty huge spoiler from next months WWE magazine has been posted online. Unless it´s a case of bad editing or plans changed

What? Hmmmm how's this gonna work I wonder. Also I don't think it's editing it's not as if a word has slipped in there, both sentences are written in the past tense...which at the moment must be the future tense, I think.

Wll Evolution makes absolutely no sense at the moment, It used to be Flair the old great, HHH the current "man" and Randy Orton as the young superstar, with Batista off to do movie promo work anyway it will turn into HHH the past great, Randy orton the current "man" and so they need a young pretender

HHH seems very fond of Sami Zayn in the video phelans shorts posted. Might be him.

I don't think so, The group probably needs an established midcard talent as they will have to fill the main event void left by Bryans injury, so you are probably looking at a sheamus or an Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns

Nah, Sami is a phenomenal babyface, proper face of the company potential, Evolution fill in would be a real blemish on him going forward, Trips isn't stupid.

Ambrose to switch sides at Payback?

Possible, but I guess not. Those things are done way in advance (the magazine), assuming this was a mess up as plans changed in the build up to Mania.

Back in the days it was good. I used to love it in the 90's and early 2000's

I feel sorry for the youth of today with rubbish they serve now

Trust me, if you were on the Network or regularly watched that stuff back you wouldn't be saying that. Rose tinted glasses indeed.

@phelans shorts and anyone else, you listen to Attitude era podcast? Sums up what you're saying in regards to attitude era. There was some great stuff, but for the most part it was cringey

It's wierd coming back in here now and then and watching some of the classic videos like those posted on the last page. Really brings back the memories. I used to love the Attitude era but I remember it went shit overnight and I seemed to lose interest. Those friday nights/saturday mornings watching Raw and Smackdown were quality though. It's a shame that most of the characters have moved on now, I'd definitely to tune in and watch now and then if they were still on. It just won't be the same now though.

Undertaker & Kanes classic feuds.
Stone Cold causing havoc every week.
DX! XPac, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn were good entertainment.
The Rock being...well..The Rock.
Ministry of Darkness vs The Corporation etc.
Some great comedy moments too from some of those mentioned along with the likes of APA (Why did they turn Bradshaw into such a crap character later on?)

Some great memories.

That time had the fortunate situation to be directly compared with the downfall of WCW, which was the most ridiculous horse shit imaginable, despite having quite a fantastic roster.

Of those, 3 have been champions in the last 13 months and another is likely to become champion this Sunday. That's before I bother going through everyone who spent time in the Ministry or the Corporation (which is probably for the best considering how many are dead)

EDIT: as mentioned by @Big-Oranje that later JBL character is very widely (and rightly IMO) seen as his highlight too. Mainly because he was so natural in it since it was legit him.

One of the greatest heels of all time? Dunno tbh.

You just knew the show was about to get really fun when this sounded....

It is terrible nowadays and has been for a number of years. Not a patch on 98-about 04. I was a huge fan and have watched every PPV until that time

The demise of ECW and WCW was the beginning of the end and then the split between RAW and Sdown is when it began to become unwatchable. Now it’s just PG and aimed for under 16's.

They used to come up with ridiculous stuff back in the 90s but then again they had to, because of the Monday Night Wars. Nowadays, because there's no competition, WWE can simply play it safe.

I think a lot of us were hoping TNA could have become strong, and therefore give WWE a bit of competition - but TNA has done its best to not compete with WWE in the last few years.

I stopped watching once it was taken off of sky 1, and that is genuinely when it was getting unwatchable. There has been an upturn in recent years though, definitely not unwatchable, and at times is probably better than its ever been.

But thats the thing, everyone remembers their own time the best. Opinions man! One of the first things I watched was Hardyz vs Edge and Christian in the match for Terri Runnels. I was 99/00 person. Watched until it left Sky 1, then got back into it before the Summer of Punk.

The split was when it really peaked, 2002 Smackdown and 2003 was just fantastic in its entirety, no surprise that came when they held back, something they didn't do in the Attitude Era.

In many ways the Attitude Era was leading the business into ruin, nothing meant anything anymore. You'd get 20 unprotected chair shots every Raw and no one bothered selling anymore. Look at the reaction they get now just from uttering the word "bitch", that's what you want, everything means something (except certain gimmick matches, most notably Hell in a Cell). The problem at the moment came from that transition to making things seem worthwhile, again, the fault of the Attitude Era, and the inability to make stars as those that were tuned into the Attitude Era's way of thinking seeing them all as dweebs for being laid out by a single finisher, or a single chair shot. Now we've reached the point where there is a very noticeable upward trend with the new guys. Bray Wyatt has come in and instantly made himself a star, whether that was the intention or not. You've got clearly defined characters now rather than generic OVW tanned guy in black trunks. You've got the Performance Centre housing some of the most gifted wrestlers in the world, whether that be Sami Zayn, Adrien Neville, Prince Devitt, KENTA, or even the likes of Kevin Steen who's 99% WWE bound. Hell, even some of their own produced guys are showing a hell of a lot of skill down there, whether that be Charlotte Flair or an Enzo Amore (he certainly isn't SAWFT). This idea that the storylines being simplified isn't conclusive with a good show is farcical, this years Wrestlemania was definitely in the 5 best, yet it's terrible? Ha.

(hey Bo-Layne how ya doin?)
