This is my team 15/16

 Too much ammunition. If I was going to describe you as a manger I'd be nice but go with Wenger of the last decade

Still take that.

I described you as well, you just can't seem to see it.

No I streamlined it because that is the point of a debate, not going around in circles but trying to progress, something that is impossible with you. You actually now sound like you are basically replying just to try and troll me as if you'd wanted to stop all you had to do was not reply, but of course that isn't your issue, it's mine, just keep telling yourself that, and of course I replied, I mean why wouldn't I give you what you wanted? I'm not selfish. :)

The point of a debate is to make your point and then go. However, when we have a debate, you tend to nitpick at little stuff I put and take it completely off track i.e. Depay thread. I mean, this is why this debate started. I think all of our debates have started by you purposely quoting me. I mean, in this thread, you decided to critique my team, especially Gundogans position when, if you take a look at the thread, most people have put him as an 8. So I guess in a way it's you that's trying to troll me.

I just think if you're going to be the one to start a debate, don't moan if someone is willing to actually have one. If you don't like me replying, then it probably makes sense not to quote me or just block me.

Still take that.

Good grief. This discussion has been going on that long I can't even remember what your side is?

I imagine so since you share his vision for 4th place dominance.

The point of a debate it to try and see a point of view other than your own or at least aspects of that view, what you are describing is not a debate, it's merely making a statement. I told you why I quoted you rather than others and I didn't nitpick it, I explained to you some points on Gundogan as unlike you I have actually watched a lot of Dortmund this season, you just continuously ignored what I was explaining to you and kept repeating the scenario where everything would work out with him back as he was in 2013, something I found a weird stance to take given how we have been burned before with players in this manner.

I never said I didn't like replying, I was just trying to make progress and it was becoming ever apparent that you were never going to see past your view, which is fine, hence why I kept whittling each part down until you turned it into what it is now with your smilies and your attempts to pick at me personally.

CL qualification? Don't mind if I do.

All of these posters below put Gundogan as an 8, yet you decide to critique my team, or the team I feel Van Gaal could sway towards. I'll leave you to it anyway, because without being too rude, you're really starting to bore me.

So you have 2 creative midfielders who are better for their attacking play in CM and 2 wingers who don't really do much defensively? This isn't Fifa you know...

Any "realistic" lineup would be a 4-3-3 because that's what we're going to use with Van Gaal as manager. Silly to think otherwise really.
Anyways, mine is:
De Gea
Clyne Smalling Hummels Shaw
Carrick
Herrera Gundogan
Mata Rooney Di Maria
Second 11: Valdes; Valencia Jones McNair Rojo; Blind Pereira Fellaini; Young Van Persie Depay

DDG
Valencia Hummels/Smalling Rojo Shaw
Carrick
Herrera Gündoğan
Di María Rooney Bale/Depay
Ambitious in some areas, but my word that's a pretty formidable team.

Hummels and Gundogan obviously would need to prove their fitness before signing. Don't think LvG is even looking at Schneiderlin, but that is a lineup i would to see.

Valdes

Clyne - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw

Carrick

Mata - Herrera - Gundogan - Depay

Rooney

Gk - Lloris or Leno (if dave leaves)

RB - Clyne

CB - smalling

CB - hummels

Lb - Rodriguez (Shaw is made of glass and blind isn't good enough)

CDM - carrick

Cm - herrera and gundogan

RW - bale

St - benteke

LW - depay

Bench : valdes, Jones, rooney, perriera, fellaini, chicharito, young.

So basically a whole new starting 11.

I'll have a go.

I prefer genuine title challengers myself.

I already told you why I quoted you, and I didn't critique it, I simply explained why I think the role Gundogan was in wouldn't work in the PL as he currently is. As far as me boring you, I think I've been remarkably patient with you and your seeming paranoid view that I'm picking on you, along with you trying to goad me personally. You were full of piss and vinegar a couple of posts ago, now you're bored, that's fine with me.

Realistic and your lign up has Bale and Verratti in it...

Bale is not leaving Real Madrid and Verratti is not leaving PSG unless it is for Real Madrid (Ancelotti wants him).

Anyway here is my realistic dream team for next season

-----------------DDG---------------------
Alves----Hummels---Laporte-----Shaw
--------------Schneiderlin--------------
-----------Herrera---------------------
Di Maria----------Mata----------Depay
--------------Rooney-------------------

Reserve:
GK: Valdes and Johnstone
RB: Valencia
CB: Smalling, Jones and Rojo
LB: Blind
Midfield: Carrick, Fellaini and Januzaj
Winger: Young
Attacker: Lacazette, Wilson

This is pretty close to what I suspect will happen. I can't stand Alves so I hope that doesn't happen. I don't know what to think about Clyne but it seems that we are after him. I wonder if we will sign two bigger name CB's. If not, I imagine Smalling would play along side whoever we do sign be that Hummels or whoever. I really would like for us to go for Lacazette.

8 new first team players lol

I like it.

We ain't bringing in 8 first team players. It took us over half the season to get this lot to learn the "philosophy". Why start again?

Well this current bunch are continuing to disgrace themselves and the shirt. What is it now, 1 win in 5 games whilst 3rd place was still achievable. I really hope LVG just wields the axe one final time, just like he did last summer and sells the crocks and under performers.

So what, we haven't achieved anything, so we got nothing to lose by brining in better players.

Yeah we have actually. We can either build on the relative comfort that the squad has started to show in the second half of the season by adding a few quality players that fit the system or rip it all up and start again next year.

If it was a simple as some of you lot make it out to be then we wouldn't need a coach or tactics. Just money.

There is a little bit of drool on my chin.

I think that is ambitious though.

We ain't bringing in 8 first team players. It took us over half the season to get this lot to learn the "philosophy". Why start again?

We are probably not buying 8, but 6-7 isn't unrealistic imo. There is a big lack of balance in the squad a few injurys to key players destroys everything.

If this evenings twitter is anything to go by, we're going to be lining up like this next year:

----------------De Gea
----------------Phil Jones
------------Carrick---Hererra

Clyne---Smalling---Jones---Blind
---------------Carrick---------------
-------Herrera-------Fellaini-------
Mata---------------------------Bale
---------------Rooney---------------

Subs: Valdes, Shaw, Rojo, New CB, Gundogan, Di Maria, RVP

With Bale looking less likely to leave this summer and Depay since being confirmed I'll now go for this next season

---------------De Gea---------------
Alves---Smalling---Jones---Blind
---------------Carrick---------------
-------Herrera-------Fellaini-------
Mata---------------------------Depay
---------------Rooney---------------

Subs: Valdes, Shaw, Rojo, New CB, Valencia, Di Maria, RVP

Still hope De Gea stays and I've since removed myself from the flavour of the month Clyne and gone for my first choice all along Alves to be our new RB

Let me select the team twitter says we will be playing next year:
-----------------------Cech-----------------------

bit ott for me, but anyway
