This is my team 15/16

We aren't, it's just that Schweinsteiger is and always has been on a different level to Carrick... They will most likely rotate, but more often then not it'll be Schweiny in the midfield, as Carrick is turning 34. He's brilliant to have as a squad player, and he'll probably play in defence occasionally for that added distribution, but he won't be first choice in midfield with the signings we've made.
He know the team and the league. I reckon carrick will start.

De Gea
Darmian
Shaw
Jones
Smalling
Schneiderlin
Schweinsteiger
Herrera
Di Maria
Depay
Rooney

----------------De Gea---------------
Damian--Smalling--Otamendi--Shaw
------------Schweinsteiger-----------
-----=-Herrera-------Schneiderlin
Di Maria------Rooney----------Depay
This team with an in form Di Maria and Rooney is a league and champions league contender. Admittedly those are major ifs at this point. All in all I can't wait for the season to start.

Whats poor Carrick done to be left out of everybodies teams?

Live for 34 years?

I think if he's fully fit and it's an important game, Carrick starts.
Over the course of the season though, I do think Schweinsteiger and certainly Schneiderlin and Herrera will play in more game than him.

Carrick will play his fair share but the signings of BS and MS definitely indicate that he won't be relied upon as he has been in recent seasons. I still see the calmness and nous of Carrick as a great weapon though in horses for courses sort of games. If we go to, say, Bayern Munich defending a 1-0 first leg lead in the quarter finals of the CL then Carrick sitting in between Schweinsteiger/Schniedelin and the back four in a five man midfield would provide a formidable barrier.

As things stand I'd go with this, I do think we need to strengthen in at least 2 further areas though:

De Gea

Darmian-------Smalling------Rojo-------Blind

Schweinsteiger Schneiderlin Herrera

Di Maria----------Rooney----------Mata

De Gea

Darmian Smalling Ramos Shaw

Schweini Schneidi

Mata Di Maria

Rooney Depay

----Young - Rooney - Mata--------
-----Schneiderlin - Herrera---------
-------------Carrick------------------
Shaw - Jones - Smalling - Darmian
-------------De Gea------------------

That would be my starting XI for the Spurs game right now. Then if we need to liven things up we can throw on Memphis and Di Maria, ain't bad options off the bench.

That's assuming ADM leaves and DDG stays for one more year.
