He would be the perfect replacement for casillas when he retires imo. Sadly he plays for atletico and is owned by Chelsea.
What exactly is Courtois better at? Apart from running out recklessly to a ball he was never going to get, like he just did.
Have you watched him much this season or are you just basing it on his mistake today?
de Gea is better with his feet but that's about it. There isn't too much in it though, both are superb and are the best two young keepers in the world (though Courtois is a year and a half younger).
I've watched him all season, and he's top class clearly, his clean sheet tally tells us that.
However, you say "isn't too much in it", yet seemingly the only single thing DDG is better at is with his feet. You're not making much sense here.
What part doesn't make sense? I don't think there's a big difference between them but also think that except with the ball at their feet, Courtois is slightly better in every area.
Wouldn't really argue with anyone who finds de Gea better though.
It really isn't much between them and I don't care if Courtois is deemed slightly better or not, I just know that I wouldn't swap DDG for any keeper in the world.
What I will add though is that while DDG had to deal with joke defences/rotation in defence through injuries in his time with us so far, Courtois has had one of the best defences probably in Europe with next to no rotation. This way the job gets easier and there can be a better understanding between gk and defence.

He's ready to be the #1 at Chelsea. I don't know how many years he has left on his contract but if Jose loans him again, I think he'll permanently leave.
I think too that he's the best current Keeper, these last few games for Athletico he's really swayed my opinion.
I think he and de Gea are going to have an excellent fight for the next 10 years to try and show which one of them is the top keeper in the world (I'm taking Neuer out of the equation as I don't know how good he'll be at 39).
Really hope he leaves Chelsea, he's been a revelation at Athletico and if they want to build on this year they need to keep hold of their best players and so far its not looking good with Luis and Costa both on Chelsea's radar.
Difficult to say who is better but I'm just thankful that we have one of them. He should be the number one at Chelsea next season.
I hope that Chelsea bring him back and test him in the PL.
I have never seen a GK make it look so simple as he does...nothing flashy about him.
I personally dont rate DDG that much and think they are better in the PL already nevermind the world
Goalkeepers always look better in teams that are setup like Simeone's Madrid or a Mourinho team. The better test is to see how they perform when they are more exposed by the teams formation and tactical approach. The same goes for centre backs.
Also highlights how much protection he gets from his defence and midfield that he has little to do. The same with Cech at Chelsea and one reason why he should settle in quickly as they play a similar way protecting the defence and keeper.
Who cares whether or not he's better than De Gea. At 20, he's already one of the best keepers in the world and will probably be the best within the next 12 months.
Its the crosses from corners, free kicks etc is where he excels....thats nothing to do with protection from defence.
Still better than any I have seen 'live' in the prem over last few seasons

I mean this guy played a CL semifinal against us 3 years ago and was already then far away from beeing a teenager. You know that game/-s we shoud have scored 20 goals
His good but I really don't get why people think that he's better than De Gea. The only thing he is better than De Gea are one on one chances. De Gea is better at shot stopping, distribution and probably now even in the air.
Both of them top keepers though and probably the best keepers in the world right now.

De Gea is clearly better so is Szczesny.
I think he looks more assured than De Gea and Neuer without actually being as capable. It's the sort of thing that led to Cech being overrated for years.
