It was one pass. Darren Fletcher has probably played one of them in his career too.. This a professionals. In context though he isn't a great passer.

He's played plenty of brilliant passes throughout his career. You'd have to be blind not to see that

He sure has however I wouldn't have him down as a great passer.. which is also why he hasn't yet mastered this deep midfield role position.

I must be lost - this is a Thiago thread not a Fabregas v Lampard one.

For crying out loud I can barely clean this whole mess up. In future going so severely off topic will result in a non-infraction warning.

This is a thread about the potential transfer of Thiago. There is a footy forum, my mind is boggling.

I think I'll give this Thiago kid a watch in the game on Sky now.

I'd forgotten about the game. Should be nice watching Isco and Thiago dancing rings around all and sundry. Although I do have a soft spot for Eikrem still.

Glad I came back after this Lampard debacle. Four As in your last name or you're not coming in.

Seriously next post about Lampard - not you Brightonian - will receive an actual infraction. Not just a warning.

From what I have seen so far, he is very tidy and can see him linking up really well with Carrick.

I want this kid. Him and Carrick would just work. Get Strootman or another in there with a bit of size/presence and things looking good.

Decent performance by him today, played as the furthest midfielder forward with koke and illaramendi behind him, wasn't as good as he was in the previous games playing further back.

Yeah, he was careless at times - a criticism he receives with Barcelona from time to time. Lapses in concentration that he still is guilty of

Will his price increase if Spain win the championship?

He Didn't have to be at his best today because of the opponents. Kept it pretty simple but with some lapses in concentration and losing the ball under no pressure. Not the best game he's to judge him

Nothing will change in terms of his transfer fee, apart from personal contract terms should he decide to leave the club

Actually, I think any game in a tourney like this is a good measuring stick of what to expect and his carelessness is a criticism he has received in the past...which also is the basis in which Tito has given him less minutes, apparently

Truth is even Isco and others had moments of carelessness, for me. They're brimming with confidence and sometimes prone to taking the foot off the accelerator.

In fairness I think Spain were so comfortable that one or two got a little careless but Thiago is a proper CM who would be ideal alongside Carrick IMO.

Yeah, I think once they got the first goal everyone seemed a bit more lax on the ball, both Isco and Thiago having misplaced passes or getting caught in possession. Both are ridiculously young and so good at that age that those moments of carelessness have to be expected, but they will almost definitely be ironed out with more experience.

I agree, and even though he played as an attacking midfielder today, he still liked going deeper to get the ball than traditional attacking mids and he definitely looked more comfortable in previous games when he started deeper just in front of Illaramendi.

He really is like a mixture of Xavi and the 'typical' Brazilian star qualities. He's very clever at pulling strings, both with his passing and his movement. Anyone who watched today would have seen him make the same run, again and again, towards a Spanish CB trying to move the ball forwards. You could tell from his posture as he made the move that he didn't expect the ball, but he also knew that Eikrem had been told to stick to him, and every single time he made that run it opened up a space for the CB to make a simple pass to Illarramendi. So he has that Xavi game-running ability.

But he also has that streak of flair, and a touch of selfishness to go with it, a desire to imprint himself more noticeably on the game with a goal or a dribble or a trick here and there. I suppose you could say he's part Xavi, part Ronaldinho.

Some good tackles and defensive play today too. Difficult to shift off the ball, physically. Sometimes he looks like the sort of player who would have been better off in the Deco-Ronaldinho era Barca than the tiki-taka one.

Oh, and range of passing much.

People seem to think he'll be holding some sort of press conference as soon as Spain are done. He'll more likely say he is going on his holidays and does not know what will happen yet. Some are speaking as if his future will be announced on the 18th. I doubt it.

My guess is that once the U21 tourney is over, Thiago will make his intentions known. Either he stays or goes. If he goes, then the coming weeks will only be about where

So, you are saying, something will happen at some point, which will result in something else happening, which could be anything. ;-)

I was speaking to the comments about what to expect, come the 18th. Won't hear about a deal being reached if he's leaving, just whether he's leaving or staying

If he decides to leave and we are in for him he will be a Man United player come September. We are considered to be one of the two biggest clubs in the world and he's likely to get much more playing time than elsewhere, possibly slotting straight in.

I prefer undue optimism to undue pessimism. So, well said.

I'm way gay for him. He seems to have principles. We love our principles at united.
