I agree, and even though he played as an attacking midfielder today, he still liked going deeper to get the ball than traditional attacking mids and he definitely looked more comfortable in previous games when he started deeper just in front of Illaramendi.
Definitely, he is at his best when he looks to give the CB an out ball and then he can turn and dictate the play and tempo of the next attack. I really can't see him being anything but a success here playing alongside Carrick.
