I was just kidding. I do agree though, there's something in it. He could easily have denied it.

Again, contract negotiations. Most agents these days seem to drill it into players that the one thing they must never do is give a completely definitive answer about where they'll be playing next season. Even totally loyal players who see out multiple contracts at one club usually throw the 'you never know what the future holds' in there. Otherwise you're fecked in terms of negotiating the best contract possible.

Disgustingly good, isn't it? Although a good illustration of the differences between La Liga and the EPL. In England, you would never, ever see two opposition players just stand and watch like that. At least one of them would be getting enough shoulder-to-shoulder contact on him to make a touch like that impossible.

Yup. The expectations exceed the actual chances of it happening by quite some distance.

That's a perspicacious point, plus they're friends. I still think Barca will just offer him increased wages and playing time but this is a worthy notion.

I wouldn't go that far. They know each other from having played together with the youth national teams but that doesn't mean they're friends.

It would really depend on the match and occasion, I've seen Berbatov do plenty of these beautiful controls unchallenged.Sometimes they opponents are in awe

I dont see Kagawa as a CM and honestly I hope we dont ever see him there as it probably end up in tears (ex Anderson). Kagawa is either a link man or an inside forward. His goal ratio at Dortmund clearly shows that.

I've read SAF's interview about the enforcer thing and honestly I couldnt resist from smiling. I struggle to understand what the likes of Butt, Philip Neville, Jones and OShea (in CM) brought on the plate apart from breaking the opponent's team rythm and winning the ball. However I agree with you, I wouldn't want us to end up with enforcer. In my opinion the right way to go is to play with two box to box midfielders similar to Carrick backing Alcantara and flanked by two hardworking/quality wingers/inside strikers such as Kagawa, Valencia and Rooney. RVP would convert the chances into goals as a lone striker.

I believe that the only way that Thiago and Kagawa can function together in CM is to play an enforcer behind them.

The system I am talking about is similar to this

----------Carrick---------Marchisio?---------------

--------------------Thiago----------------------------

Valencia/Zaha-------------------------Rooney/Kagawa

---------------------RVP-------------------------------------

Where's the Kagawa as a CM part coming from btw?

And yeah Butt, Phil Neville and Jones for example have been used there against tough opponents at times, but you don't see the need for that type of player most of the games (in the Ferguson era) therefore buying a player exclusively for that position doesn't, or should I say didn't make much sense, because even if said players weren't "world beaters" in their positions they did more than good enough in that one basic role they had.

And the thing is, Thiago is actualy a midfielder primarily, there's nothing to suggest we couldn't partner him with Carrick as CMs (ofcourse, going with an option such as Jones is acceptable in big games) while having Rooney and Kagawa playing the left flank and behind the striker (interchanging most likely). besides whoever's playing behind Van Perisie's basicaly playing at the tip of a midfield 3 anway.

Thiago Alcantara " After Tuesday's final, I would've decided my future, but everyone will know very soon"
Got this of from twitter.

You know what he means though, it's probably fair to say they get on well

"You got a pen, Dave?"

I think those qutes are made up, unfortunately. No real source except some random United fan.

This is my favorite thread and reading quote like this will probably ruin my sleep tonight. Please guys from now on only authentic quotes otherwise I expect Top to use his magical power. Btw. By the fecker!!

if we restricted yourselves to authentic material only, none of these transfer threads would even reach page 2.
Hmmm. Using Twatter as a source creates the problem. I love to read news, even Twatter crap but I care for this player to join us so I'm contradict myself on this one. Time for bed...

There has to be a balance though. We can't just post everything that's said by anyone on Twitter. At least some effort should be made to filter such blatant bull shit like the quote above.

Pretty unlikely.

Is it? My hunch, based on absolutely nothing except the few snippets we heard from the club itself and his dad aeons ago, is that we're looking at a 50% chance of him staying at Barca, a 30% chance of him coming to us, 10% to Bayern, and 10% split between PSG, Monaco, City or someone else (one of the money clubs luring him with a big feck-off wage, basically).

I just don't get the inkling that this will pan out with Thiago remaining at Barcelona. Maybe he's allowed the speculation to grow as to get a nice new contract at Barcelona though, who knows?

Looks like that actor from Emerdale:

I'm so glad someone posted that, didn't know he was on Emmerdale as well. I was looking up past Coronation Street characters for the last half an hour trying to see who it was that he reminded me of, it was driving me mental.

I just search for "Asian actor on Emmerdale" and bob's your...

If his priority is getting games, we should clearly be his first choice team, right? We are the only elite team that would could offer him a first XI place.

If he's after money, he'll be better off elsewhere.

Why are most of us so pessimistic about this transfer?
