Nelson Mandela. I haven't seen a Batman movie. Do you like them?I like that. I like that a lot. Did you come up with that yourself or is it from a Batman film?

Please excuse me if this is very off topic, but I ask with Thiago in mind.
When do you think the transfer market will really pick up? I know we have already seen City spend big on a couple of players, but City are boring as feck. When do you think the tasty stuff will start happening? Ie Bale, Thiago, Suarez, Ronaldo.. The big names.
Yeah, let's ban Shinjisan if Thiago doesn't sign for us.
I don't think I have mentioned this on the new site.
I agree. I didn't see any elbows being thrown, no headers won in that video. I doubt he would cut it in the premiership. I fear it will be too physical for him. Sign the big belgian instead.Looks decent but he's no Fellaini.
Odds have slashed on skybet to evens. Muppet season lads *rubs hands*
According to Skybet, the odds for him coming here are 1/1 ?

I know it's nothing now, but what gives them the insight to make a decision like that?
We dodged a bullet with Sneijder.
As far as I know, its purely down to the amount of bets they receive. So if I went and bet a million on him going to Liverpool, their odds would fly in and Liverpool would be odds on. They generally try to keep their finger on the pulse as much as they can and alter their bets based on that, but a lot of their info is info that would be available to us I'd imagine.
It's a combination of betting patterns and inside information.
Transfer betting is worth millions to the bookies so you can be sure they'll be keeping agents and people with inside knowledge sweet with any information that can give them an edge.
It's worth pointing out too that slashing of odds is also a good way to invite bets. With the papers indicating a player might move to a club, people start talking about it. Then, all of a sudden a players odds of moving to a club go from 10/1 to 4/7 on and some dilberts think its a sure fire sign that it's about to happen, better whack £20 on it...

Manchester United join neighbours City in chase for Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara
10 Jun 2013 22:30
Champions' incoming manager Moyes hopes to snap up Spain U21 midfielder he had his eye on at Everton for £15m
Welcome to Manchester: United and City both have Alcantara in their sights
Ian Walton
New Manchester United boss David Moyes has launched a £15million bid to sign Barcelona starlet Thiago Alcantara.
Moyes has put chief scout Jim Lawlor on the case to set up a deal for Spain Under-21 skipper Alcantara, who is currently on duty at the age-group European Championship in Israel.
Midfielder Alcantara is available as Barca are willing to cash in for big money, and he is growing fed up at a lack of regular game-time.
The young star, who's also being linked with Manchester City, has been on Moyes’ radar before, but he was out of touch when he was in charge at Everton.
Now though, with the greater financial clout of United behind him, wheels are turning.
Alcantara is represented by Pere Guardiola, brother of ex-Barca coach and incoming Bayern Munich boss Pep, but the new European Cup holders have yet to make a move.
The Mirror understands that Premier League champions United have made contact with the Alcantara camp, with his father - Brazil hero Mazinho - open to the transfer.
United’s new manager has made progress behind the scenes and hopes to put an offer to both club and player shortly.
£15m for him would be a freaking bargain. For someone, because he'll clearly not come to us.
No surprise Moyes knows of him. Find it funny that we are after City's target seeing as we have been monitoring him for years.
for example - the price of David Moyes becoming United manager dropped significantly about a week before Fergie announced his retirement.
Please don't be so negative. We need good karma to get this guy. And btw I agree totally with the rest of your post.Thiago would be perfect for us in terms of quality, age, re-sale value, style of play and many other things. For that reason alone I can personally guarantee he will not come here.

What on earth gave you that idea? The sheer lack of knowledge and importance placed to these novelty markets is astounding. These markets are only gimmicks. There are set up to generate interest and are a great way of attracting new accounts. The Lay to lose (dictates the max bets etc) on these markets are tiny. Any person looking to get a bet on say PSG in that Thiago market would struggle to get much more than £50 on at 8/1, as the LTL would likely be £500 on that market. Idiots could get up to £500 on United at Evens say. A £500 LTL is miniscule in bookies terms, this market is only a joke designed to get people interested in the bookie and perhaps go and bet on proper markets.
But it takes no more than a couple of new accounts to sign up and have a bet on one of the clubs for the trader to suspend the market. They will then restructure, and put the market back up with the clubs odds slashed (Strootman), and the bookie saying they 'seen a tonne of money for it'. (The monday before SAF retired on Tues, a major bookie had a few new accounts opened in order to put max bets, round 400 quid or so, on Moyes as manager. The bookie suspended, reported they had seen 'floods of money', and sparked a series of rumours that Fergie was retiring and Moyes was taking over. A day later we found out this was true. Guess how many of these new accounts and bets it took to spark all this off? You can count it on one hand.)
These markets are very rarely informative. And if they are, it won't be on behalf of tiny joke bookies like Skybet, who will try to take as little money as possible on something like this, but tweet the most often.
