Sat around too much discussing terms for too long, taking their time thinking that we'll get him no problem, we'll just wait for Moyes to take over first, deal with that stuff then he'll be waiting. Or if rumours are to be believed that we for some strange reason had a problem with guaranteeing him playing time with the clause thing, despite the fact that he'd walk into our starting 11 and the clause wouldn't ever even need to be used.
So basically we take any players we want unless Bayern, Real, Barcelona, PSG, Monaco, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested

Wouldn't it be just about befitting of the state of our fine midfield if he made his comeback in the home match vs Chelsea, only to shit on the OT turf as Ramires and van Ginkel run rings around us?
He'd be rubbish anyway and would find it hard getting in the starting line up. He would have a job getting past Giggs in midfield, let alone Anderson and Cleverley.
My only concern about Thiago is his decision to turn down Madrid. To me it sounds like he is leaving the door open to an eventual return to Barcelona.
I'd say if Thiago really signs for Bayern (which he hasn't yet), we name and shame those that worked on the deal from United's end. Hang them out to dry and we can throw oranges at them or something to voice our displeasure of their laziness in securing this deal quickly.

Well sure. We just need to set up ITK Twitter accounts well in advance, force the selected target to sign a ball/shirt/other piece of merchandise. Have to keep up Anderson's pie supply for the next year as well, to make sure he doesn't suddenly blossom into a world class CM and allows us forget our woes.

None of us know but some something isn't right when you look at the failures in terms of big name transfers. Only RVP in recent seasons.
