Really light midfield. Pogba doesn't do much defensive work and Tiago shouldn't be left on his own.

He had much better support though.
We don’t need him aswell as VDB, we’re going after players for the one position we don’t need, we’re rammed in CM, we need depth at CB and a RW.
He's in my opinion, the best holding midfielder in the world and probably has another 3 years at the top. I think exceptions can be made in that regard, and also buys time to scout for such a player to pop up later down the line.
If Wijnaldum does not agree to sign the extension and appears to be wanting to go to Barcelona then Thaigo will be liverpool player soon. We may have a chance only if Liverpool refuses to go for the price a bit like Werner

In many ways, he was the support. Bayern played countless vital passages through him.
He would shine anywhere, this argument that he doesn't suit Pogba and Bruno is really, really weird. On paper he suits them perfectly.

As others have said, it's way too weak defensively. In Bayern he had others doing way more defensive work in midfield than pogba will ever do.
In fairness he's saying he's not sure why he'd want to go to United. He's obviously leaving Bayern.
And its a fair point. He can win silverware anywhere. With us it's more of a project. Unless we pay better wages I don't see it.

Not sure if you truly believe we can afford all those players? Especially when we seem to be struggling to pay what’s needed for the first name you listed.
I don't think he defensively presses or covers less ground than Matic does for us. And Bayern play a very high press, so they'd probably be left open and reliant on him+others way more than we would in ours.
Besides Bruno often tracks and defends.
Bruno defends...you could argue it’s actually more balanced having him in there instead of Muller. He’s immense at getting the ball deep and beating the press which is our biggest weakness. He’d be a terrific signing but we’d have to sell Fred to be able to do it.
Why would we need to sell Fred instead of Pereira

Whatever anyway, the midfield attributes at Bayern are completely different to Uniteds hence they can get away with Thiago dropping deep.

We have been left open when we have high pressed with matic. Our midfield has been one of the biggest reasons we have lost or drawn games, we need to make it defensively better.
Compared to Bayern we look so light in midfield. I don't want to watch us collapse to some midfield pressure or when leave our midfield exposed again next season.

Considering the mental impact last saga had on few of us, if we are not in for him, the club should deny this immediately.
Thiago would be a brilliant signing for whichever club signs him. He'd improve United if they signed him - he's arguably better than what they curretly have. I wonder if United are being used as a way of getting Liverpool to pay Bayern's asking price.

We don't press anywhere like Bayern do. In fact I'm sure no club does this, it's a weird tactic but it works. And obviously Thiago will be more exposed in that system than anywhere else. To draw parallels from there, where he plays a holding role despite this supposed weakness, and try and claim it wouldn't work here is a bit lazy.
Put it this way, he's better than Matic as a defensive midfielder. So it makes obvious sense.
Why would a Norweigan journalist drop our name to speed Liverpool up? That line of thinking might make sense if it came from German media sources.
We’re signing VDB and Mctominay also plays as a CM. There is no way Fred is staying if we sign both Thiago and VDB. He’d then arguably be 3rd choice in the DM role and possibly 4th in the Pogba role. He was a 50m signing. He’d have to be moved on.
I know. He’s one of the few players I’d make the mistake of getting drawn into a saga for more than once
I believe Falk said he wants a new challenge and to play in England. Also that he feels like the icing on the cake at Bayern but he knows they're fine without him & he wants to be more of a catalyst leads a team to glory. He would have transformed Liverpool's average midfield and taken them up a few levels but if they've pulled out maybe the chance to take us back to the top is enticing enough?

We have left our DM exposed this season and paid for it. He's not a dm, he's a deep lying play maker and there is a huge difference. He's closer to pirlo than a proper DM. He had a great setup in Bayern with hard working players around him, he will not get that with the suggested lineup.
He is a great player and brings a lot of what we need, but we need to properly balance our midfield with him.
