Gaming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Fair enough, well likely the longer you leave it the more the price will drop.

Yeap. I see myself playing MGS till the year's end.

That being said, its kind of shitty for me to spend full price on a Konami game rather that a Projekt Red game, considering how the two companies differ. :(

Geralt's face when
he finds Vesemir dead

Killed me :(

just finished this game. story is really great.

especially after you find ciri isle of mists, that's when things really start to pick up

one of the best games I've played on recent memory. definitely doing new game plus, though on death march this time for some challenge now that I picked up on the combat and make choices that I didn't the first time around

Going to try and complete this within the weekend so I can trade it in and get FIFA. I know, odd decision when you have one of the best games you've played and an infuriating shit of a game but I think I will rebuy the Witcher when most of the DLC is out so I can replay the game without it too fresh in my memory.

Rather you than I! First expansion is only out next month. :D

Finally finished it, I took a 2 month break to do other things and the endless amount of side quest content was taking its toll on me, although some of them were very good, I played on Death March and simple camps of drowners half my level sometimes took me ages as I'd impatiently go in sword wailing and die in 3 hits. Packs of anything more than 3 could be a nightmare until I took that ability which lets you cast signs from adrenaline points.

Did Isle of Mists when I picked it up again and there was no putting it down thereon in.

Finised at 144 hours and level 32 which seems pretty low compared to some people, but I missed a lot of the quests out I guess.

Imlerith was toughest fight for sure, took me around 10 attempts I think. Wasn't enough for me to just spam dodge roll all over the place, was only when I started waiting for his attack before I got the hang of it.

Ending was me running off with Yen to sex all day long, Ciri went off to be Empress. Story did feel a bit weak at the end, the best bits were the run up to it, smashing up that elf's laboratory being the highlight!

Completed it. Great game, one of the best i have played. Should really go back and play the first two but never got into them as much as i did with this.

Ciri became a Witcher for me. Got my hopes up with a Triss and Yen threesome and then they fecked me over. Wish i went for Triss only but i was afraid pissing off Yen would lead to bad things happening at the end i.e her not helping in fights or certain situations. All the bosses at the end were relatively easy apart from Caranthir who was tough to fight with Geralt i thought. The Crones and Eredin were disappointing and simple, just long.

Wow finally finished it. Brilliant game. The first third & last third of the game were the best parts by a mile 10/10. The middle for me dragged a bit and felt like a 7/10 experience. I'm not sure what I did to get my ending but it was a bit weird and kind of sad. Best RPG of this kind I've played I would say.

Edit: I made a shitty choice and got the bad ending :(

Fecks sake, I still need to whoop eredin  I can't even look at it lately. Stumbling at the last hurdle after breezing through the rest is sickening

Caranthir was an absolute cnut on death march, Eredin not so much. Just dodge, hit, quen over and over. Use igni to weaken him and that oil that gives extra damage to your sword. (forgot the name)

I always "dodge" straight into the motherfecker, I found carinthir simple in comparison. Maybe it's the way I've built geralt :/ I could simply lower the difficulty but then that means a second play through on death cnut just to beat eredin.

I suppose I could load my last manual save wherever the feck that was.

You need to roll forwards as he always respawns behind you.

if the fight takes too long try using the archgriffin decoction. it's OP against bosses that have a lot of health, especially in death march.

it's also very useful against eredin because you can only hit him once or twice before he blocks your attacks and teleports away.

only downside is that decoctions have a lot of toxicity so it limits your potion use. try going with the alchemy build, it's the best late game.

Was thinking of getting my son this for his birthday. He's into free roaming games, so will this meet his expectations?

True that.

Anyway, yeah, it's an incredible game. It's also well over 100 hours long though so don't expect to see much of him when you get it!
cheers. The Witcher it is then.

Its the best RPG I've ever played.

If he enjoyed Skyrim/Oblivion this blows it out of the water.

Finally finished it. Nice ending with Ciri going into the family business.

It's out. 10GB of bug fixes. More importantly though it adds extra dialogue scenes between Yen/Triss (and a little with Ciri) after the Battle of Kaer Morhen. I'm going to have to play a third play through feck sake

Man, I wish that Witcher senses wasn't so hard on my brain. I might be able to finish it. Now I can barely play for 20 minutes at a time and need days in between to recover. :/

I think they added a feature to change the colour of the senses (from bright red to light blue) does that not help at all?

I think you might need to see a doctor :nervous:

I want a Star Wars game like this.

Finally pre-ordered the expansion. It comes with a 15% discount on GOG, if anyone's interested.

I'm a medical mystery already, don't need them to worry about more.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look through the settings and test it the next time i play.
I do belive it's the blurryness i can't handle though.

You're not on PC, are you? On PC there's a "MotionSicknessFocusMode" option you can change manually in the "...\The Witcher 3\bin\config\base\gameplay.ini" file.

Nah, I play on the ps4. :)

anyone started playing the expansion yet? I think it's out now.

Played about 2 or so hours. And as you can imagine, it's been fantastic. The new area north east of Oxenfurt is pretty damn big. Can't believe it only cost €8.59, especially compared to the terrible Trespasser DLC I bought for Dragon Age which cost €14.99.

This is CD Projekt for you. This is apparently around 10 hours of gameplay too, for less than €10, with added locations.
