Gaming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Right, thanks. Not sure I'm far enough in to activate that questline yet, I've just played the kid in Midcopse for Roche.

Oh you're a good twenty hours or away from that quest line! I say twenty hours because you need a really good deck. I got slaughtered by the required players you have to beat so went around Velen/Noivgrad just playing randomers and winning their cards, buying cards from merchants etc.

Awesome, I actually like that I'm not close to it.

My OCD means I simly MUST explore every question mark on the map, which sometimes opens up more quests, which opens up more questions marks...I'll never leave Velen at this rate :(

Yep, that's the one! Was crazy as hell. I don't know if I used mad skillz, or I lucked my way through it in the end. It's such an addictive game.

Finished that one, im lookin for the wife in velen, cant find any clues

Finally, the football is over. I can now dive back into this awesome game :P

Having a bit of a problem in that once you explore the world there are so many quests to do that you soon become over leveled. Maybe I'll stop doing the side stuff but then I feel like I'll be missing out on a lot of fun. Some of the side missions are great.

OVER levelled? What the hell? Put the difficulty up if it isn't already.

Difficulty was fine it's just I'm level 15 with plenty of lower level stuff to do. The story quest is level 12. Could turn it up to hardest to compensate it a bit I suppose.

I've got all sorts of quest levels, I've got one which is 33 and I'm only level 9, not far into Velen either really.

Anyone know where to get the Draconid Oil recipe from?? I want to take on the Shrieker but it keeps whipping my ass!!

Keira sells them, if you haven't bumped into her or done her sidequests you should because......well, you know, tits.

Ahh, I have done all of her quest line already!! Is there a plan B??

Just go visit her in her store/house/cabin. You can buy everything you need, except the tits ( :( )

Shes still there?!! Sound, cheers dude. Also after Geralt probably gave her the night of her life, I'm surprised she's not asking for more. Disappointing.

On the PS4 there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the difficulty setting, unless anyone knows different?

No sorry, she has totally vanished from the cabin, no way of buying it from her it seems.

On the Xbox there's a menu where you can change it through the back button. I'm guessing it will come up if you click the touchpad on PS4?

Depends on what choice you made with her, she might be available later if you got her to agree to go to kaer morhen (although I'm assuming because I'm not that far) but obviously that doesn't help you for a contract now. Boost your abilities with something else I guess.

Yeah, thats the option I chose. I might leave the contract for now and come back to it when I can perhaps overwhelm it. It's a level 8 contract so later in the game it might become more comfortable.

I did the shrieker as level 5 on blood and broken bones pretty much as soon as I arrived in Velen. It was the toughest thing I've face yet. Igni works wonders on it, don't even have to use your sword. I managed to get him in a really long fight by just keeping quen up and using igni when i had the stamina for it. Can't speak for Death March as I haven't tried it yet but on difficulties below that, the strategy should work. Also make sure you have Swallow potions and plenty of food.

I used that strategy to beat the Wild Hunt boss with Keira. Does funnily enough work if you have the discipline. I'm currently at level 9 so I will try it again maybe tomorrow.

Move the slider until the image is barely visible. What image?

Good start.

'Options' button, gameplay, then difficulty is at the bottom. I'm constantly switching from 'Story and Sword' and 'Blood and Bones' depending on how hard the current quest is.

Am I the only one who finds navigating the inventory in this game to be a bit of a hassle? I'm barely 7 or 8 hours in to the game and I have so many items which I have no idea what to use for. Wish they'd add a filter or sort feature.

It's literally all anyone says. The only unanimous critique on every forum I've seen with the Witcher being discussed.

I think it would be really handy if there was a popup when hovering over an item that told you which diagrams/recipes the item could be used for that are in your possession. It would make it easier to know what you can more or less safely get rid of. I have so many alchemist powders and I'm not sure I've any use for them whatsoever.

I'm level 7 and currently cruising around Velen having done everything available to me in White Orchard.

What equipment should I craft? Any tips? Got the viper swords but other than that just loot.
