I don't even use the horse that much, happily roaming the wilderness on foot.
Yeah, the whole ethos of Novigrad is great, it's how I expected the lore to be like; very vibrant, with colourful merchants and minstrels, and then some seedy brothels and an underlying ring of crime. Velen is a bit too murky.Just got to Novigrad which is by far my favourite area I had got a bit bored of the small villages and windy tree areas.
Roach is crazy glitchy, infuriatingly so at times. 'Call him over, spawns on other side of bridge' type of stuff. When you sprint up mountains his whole front body disappears and all you see are his hind legs.Couple of negatives I feel like the horse could control a bit better. You spend a lot of time on it and he seems to always get tangled up with the environment or goes the wrong way for me. I also wish it was just one big map that I can zoom in and out of it really bugs me when I zoom out too far and I end up on the world map. Last thing is it really necessary to go to a signpost to fast travel? Just seems a bit unnecessary and a bit of a chore.
It's all I did in Novigrad because you can't sprint whilst horseback there for some reason. Geralt is pretty nippy.I don't even use the horse that much, happily roaming the wilderness on foot.
Are you going to the notice boards and picking up quests, exploring, doing the random ? things? At level 9(not that high, I know) I've never had a shortage of quests/things to be doing at my own level.I have way too many quests too do... No idea which one to start. Also, it says I should be level 5,7, 17, 33 to do the quests yet in only level 3 so far so should i just grind a bit to level up? Not sure how the levelling works in this, never player witcher before this one. Great fun though.
If only they could incorporate a dark souls/Bloodborne style of movement and character control into it, as that's pretty much perfect when it comes to 3rd person control. This just doesn't feel very fluid when I'm moving Geralt around,
If you do a quest in this is there any point in turning down money? Like do you get something anyway or is there a good/bad system in place?
How did I manage to forget how ridiculously good Witcher 2 is. Just finished act 1 and did the intro for act 2. Epic stuff.
Went with Iorveth and he's a great character. Feel bad for ditching Roche though. Hopefully I will get to team up with him again or something
So how good is this game actually? Did it meet all the expectations (except for graphics) ?
I don't trust the internet reviews too much... I need to wait for my local gaming magazine, but that won't be for 3 weeks.
It's immense. Even if you're not an RPG fan you could just put it on easy mode and cruise through because some of the side quests have excellent plots. So how good is this game actually? Did it meet all the expectations (except for graphics) ?

The only time I can clearly remember turning down money and not getting anything is...I turned down money earlier and I got something different off the guy, can't remember what it was now though.

After killing the griffin, the money the army captain offers you.
I also turned down the coin after killing the noonwraith in the well, so the little girl could live, but I can't remember if I got something else for that.
It's hard to remember all the loot, especially when I take anything not nailed down.Yeah I turned down both of those
Think the little girl thing, you get some kind of precious stone (like emerald, but not, amethyst maybe).

I don't even need all this bread, water, and other random shit as it takes seconds to heal with meditation.
About the only thing missing from the game is some kind of location of your own you could travel to and drop off all the stuff you don't need instantly, but won't sell in case of later needs.
Yeah, I'm not very far at all obviously, just did a couple of main quests first as I usually do with these games and then branch off to side quests. All my side quests are really high level though which is the problem. Only picked them up from like 2 notice boards so far though, I'll just spend more time exploring. Are you going to the notice boards and picking up quests, exploring, doing the random ? things? Just waiting to land one.Buy the +70 saddle thing from any half-decent merchant. It's worth it.

After reading some of the comments on here, I thought it would be a good idea to turn down 300 crowns and see what they gave me instead. Guess what? It was a horrible idea. I got absolutely nothing in exchange

Doing witcher contracts underlevelled is not the best idea. Took that shrieker contract as I'd just turned level 5. It was a bit of a pain in the arse, killed me a couple of times before I managed to get it in a really drawn out fight.
Also gwent seems to be working for me now. I'm hooked already! Bit pissed that I missed the cards from white orchard meaning I'll not be able to collect them all but oh well, maybe in an expansion down the road it will be possible.
Aye I missed a couple of the cards from White Orchard too, one of the devs said they will probably patch it in so they are gettable later in the game. My inner gwent ocd needs them.
What cards are we talking about here? I am about done with this White Orchard area so I don't want to be missing out on things that you can't return for later. I did play and win against this guy in that pub but because of my X spamming habit I didn't see the reward I got.
Or do you guys mean the cards that woman sells in that pub?
