Television The Walking Dead

It's amazing how they manage to film so many episodes of nothing. I wonder if they just had their budget cut or something, and all they can afford is scenes wandering through the woods? There are so many interesting directions they could take the show if they could be arsed and could afford it. It's like they just gave up trying.

I'm still really enjoying the show, I know people have different opinions and tastes but I don't understand the serious hate people seem to have developed for it. Except Carl, he is a tit.

Loved the Governer's backstory in the fourth season.

This scene is soooo much better uncensored

*season 4 finale*

Also, I hope for the love of God they cut out the "walk slowly backwards and trip whilst being pursued by a zombie" trope, I can't help but roll my eyes when it CONSTANTLY happens. "Oh no, I've tripped over yet AGAIN!"

On Netflix it's "They're screwing with the wrong people."

Why did Netflix censor it? I thought since they're a streaming service, that they'd avoid all that TV watchdog/FCC bullshit.

TWD gets stick because it's a show that tries to be great but ultimately fails. If it was just a fun, mindless zombie show then I'm sure people would accept it for what it is, but it tries to be so much more than that, and ultimately, cocks up pretty badly for the most part.

The episodes where they do focus on the zombie killing, action and gore are generally really good, it's the other 12 episodes every season with shit dialogue, crap characters and stupid plots that are rubbish.

As soon as they left Fort Boyard it got much better again imo.

No idea, but it's pretty ridiculous. The scene is a lot more powerful the way Rick says "they're fcuking with the wrong people". I believe Breaking Bad was the same, AMC don't seem to care about gore, violence and mutilation, but no swearing or nudity.

Surely American TV has a post watershed? Anything after 9pm is good to go?

American TV has the most ridiculous restrictions known to mankind. Basically everything hinges around adverts. Over there the sponsors don't want cursing or nudity but don't care about extreme violence/gore.

HBO is unrestricted in what it can show cause it's private and has no adverts.

As I've always said, they should cut half the episodes, stop trying to be clever and trying to get us to care about the woeful characters and make the zombies a real threat again.

That's when it's at it's best.

Ruined zombies for me. I used to love zombie films. Now, I hate them. Thanks a lot, Walking Dead.

Although, that being said, the games are amazing.

Been meaning to watch this for ages and finally got around to it the other day. Done S1 and S2 over the past few days.

Main thought so far is that Laurie is a bit of a bell end and an atrocious mum. Lost count of how many times she just let Carl wander off in the middle of the night.

Be careful in this thread, Carl, no one is going to like you with a name like that

 yeh all my mates hate Carl. I'm guessing he must really ramp up the annoying over the next few series.

Apologies for the old bump but this is where I'm up to and this is just..

I think this is a fantastic summary. I think Season 2 I was mainly watching to see how bad it was and got to a point where because I started it, I wanted to see where it was going.

There are some great moments around a lot of needless stuff. Even the great moments when you think about it, dont make much sense logically in the whole story, but as a scene its fantastic tv

I enjoyed the episode. Season 4 kind of drained on me but that's a pretty good start.

Decent episode. I think they got the memo about some more action, although it looks like it will be slow paced from next week again. I really want them to get to DC or another city soon.

On that Eugene guy...
Anyone think the guy is full of it? I mean, I had my suspicions but after his explanation for the "cure" it was basically confirmed. The "red-ring" comment made me think of the Xbox term, and early on I remember him asking one of the female characters if she was a gamer and what games she liked. So I am thinking he's just some useless gamer who is using people to stay alive and conning them into thinking he has the answer.

Your answer is in the graphic novel.

Airing in the UK in 10 minutes time. Not clicking on any spoilers but I see most of you enjoyed the season opener. Can't wait now!

Is this a two hour special or are FOX really showing the same episode back to back? Fecking stupid if it's the latter.

That was intense.

The episode that is, not Eboue getting angry. Although that is also intense.

First 10 minutes I thought anything could have happened. It turned out predictably but I really thought at least one of the main characters could go (well, T-dawg III) before they escaped.

Good episode. Eugene, the guy with the cure, seems like he's bullshitting. Any one else think that Judith will be a key part in finding the cure to save humanity?

I have no idea why they're showing the same episode back to back when there's a FOX+, their timeshift channel.

Episode was great. Intense Indeed.

Eboue's feck fest, not so much.
