Television The Walking Dead

I thought it was better than last week's, but that's not a compliment.

Why do we all still watch this show again?

We've all invested far too much time into it so we can't escape now just gotta see it through

Looks like majority's face after watching recent episode. ^

I agree. So much potential gone to shit. When they discovered the military camp I was hoping things will get little interesting and perhaps they'll find out another chunk of truth about the apocalypse but nah, none of this. Let's have some bitch screwing them over because 'more guns' that will probably take another episode to find.

I think the show's creators have been pretty upfront about the show not being about what happened during the apocalypse, what caused it, finding a cure, etc. Their take is that it will always be about the survival afterwards. Even when they were with the guy at the CDC, not too much was given as far as when, where, how everything kicked off, just that it was everyplace and as far as that guy knew noplace was left untouched. Even the mention that the French equivalent to the CDC had said they were close to a cure before they went dark has been pushed aside (which makes sense, not like it would be easy for the group to head over to France and try to find the place, let alone understand any of the leftover research unless they had some scientists along with them).

I just hope it won't turn into post apocalyptic soap opera with no bigger purpose. There are still some extraordinary characters to explore like Carol or even Eugene but for how long the show can provide it while making it still fresh and interesting, that I really don't know.

I do think it's silly when people call every episode filler but that totally was, especially for the penultimate episode of the season.

Summary was literally 'They got guns but it's not enough so they need to get guns again'.

That deer CGI was atrocious  Felt like they'd just imported the graphics from a PS1 hunting game.

Penultimate episode of the season?? feck me, still feels like we're waiting for it to get started!

Looks like the mass war we've all been waiting for this season isn't gunna happen then :(

That wasn't the penultimate episode, there are still 4 more left.

Oh. I always forget what episode I need to download and I don't want to spoil anything so I type 'List of walking dead episodes' into Google and have a look at the dates. It only showed one after this one but guess not.

!

All that scene possibly needed was Duck Hunt's dog laugh from NES when Rick fell.

fecking shocking that. The lights coming from the left but they put light on what should be the dark side of the deer and it makes a shadow? They literally can't be arsed anymore.

Yeah, I looked on wikipedia myself because I was sure there was more than 1 left and it stops at episode 13 for some reason, maybe they are not releasing the info about the episodes in advance so comic readers don't guess or something.

That was awful, what's even the point of this show anymore? I keep waiting for it to show some sort of 'endgame' but it looks like it's happy to draw huge ratings with the same plotline over and over again and a big load of crappy filler. I've wasted seven seasons on this shite, I won't waste another five, which apparently is the plan for it. I'm done.

Love the Negan character but this season is so bland. I quit watching during season 5 and just caught up with season 7, I'm on the verge of quitting again.

Thanks to the awful dinner date scenes, they'll take 2 episodes to find guns. Yay

When you see show's shifting it's focus to a minor character for an episode, you know that person's about to bite the dust.

I'm gutted. But Ben was so like Glen, both pure souls in an impure world who deserved more, both had others relying on them, both names ended with en, the list goes on.

At least dicknose bit the dust.

It was obvious he'll be the spark that will start the first, only difference is that I've thought he'll do something rash and get himself killed instead of going down like this.

But hey, at least we got crazy Morgan and psycho Carroll back!

Yep, just knew what was going to happen to Benjy by the end of the episode. Would have been a nice surprise if they didnt do the obvious. (I kind guessed when he brought the portrait to Morgan, lol).

TBH, I liked the episode for the most part. The problem I had overall is weve seen it too much now, and given the rest of the season nothing has really happened, so it felt a little slow. But at least it had some progress to it.

Morgans jump seemed quite big. Surprised nobody even tried to stop Morgan from killing Richard given they had no idea what had happened before that. Was strange stuff. Unless they all secretly hated Richard and were glad it happened?

I did also realise again how important my rating for an episode is based on the characters /actors within. I like Morgan and Carol (and some of the Kingdom) so thats what probably made me enjoy this more than last few weeks.

They already found out how the outbreak started at the end of season 1, and that there was no cure. Now that their provisions and weapons are scarce they can't afford long hopeful trips to other parts of the country so the only thing keeping the show alive is Rick and his group being alive
How did it start? From what i remember at the CDC there was barely any light shed on specifically what caused it and Eugene lied to everyone saying he knew what it was.

Pretty much nothing was explained expect when that Dr. tells Rick that everyone's carrying the infection.

Another problem with the show: you only get surprised once or twice per season, usually in the mid-season and season finale. Whenever something does happen in between that, like in the latest episode, it's so painfully predictable what's gonna happen. It took me about 2 or 3 minutes into the episode before I could predict almost everything that was gonna happen.

I'm tired of the Saviors already. I hope they're gone before next season starts. Something new needs to happen.

Yep, I was quite surprised nobody tried to intervene to save Richard. They all just stood there.

Better episode than last week for me.

Still though, the entire half season is being built towards the attack on the Saviours and you just know that it isn't going to come till the finale (which will end with the inevitabile cliffhanger).

I'm sure it will be great (the finale always is), but it makes you wonder what on earth is the point in watching till then. First half of the season much stronger for me.

Just your typical cut 'n paste post apocalyptic trigger. They were playing around with biological weapons and it went belly up.

Decent episode with a couple of surprises

I'm glad carol is back though they've developed her character so well, the first couple of seasons she was weak and I didn't care about her now though she's one of my fave characters. Hope she gets more screen time.

Good episode, watching Morgan go off the rails was great.
