Television The Walking Dead

For anyone watching Fear the Walking Dead, i found out just in time it's a good idea to watch the webisodes of FTWD Flight 462 before watching ep 3 of FTWD as there are some tie-ins with characters, plot etc. Flight 462 was a series of 16 minute-long pieces covering about the time of the end of season 1 of FTWD, but you can watch it as a whole on the AMC website (proxy needed i think here) or on some streaming sites...

I watched episode 1 of season 2 and binned it off. First show I've ever abandoned I think.

I didnt even bother with ep1 for s2 just because of the way they changed from "fearing" what may come but not really knowing (which was a cool concept). The whole fast forward was the worst thing that show could have done. They dont even have strong charismatic or interesting characters.

Its like a parody of TWD which in itself has so many stupid elements.

Having just watched both, it wouldn't actually matter if you didn't watch Flight 462 but it does explain some background stories/plotlines...

Forgive my ignorance but do you know the guy that went looking for carol?? The don cheedle lookalike ? Anyhow them guys that find him that have all the body armour on, is there a chance that they team up with the Alexandria lot, to defeat Neegan ?? What role are they gonna play ?? It's a pain we Horta wait till Autumn :(

Yeah I think the armour group, Jesus' group and Rick's lot will team up and take down Neagan. Then again I can see Neagan using divide and conquer tactics, in relative terms Neagan is an emperor and the rest are small tribes.

Best episode yet of Fear the Walking Dead (4), fills in Strand's backstory, never thought Dougray Scott would pop up in this, the story is going somewhere now.

Finally seen it and trust me lads, it's much better watching in marathon sessions, that way the slow episodes don't get as annoying. Was fun reading through some of the stuff here after each episode... You guys should really do a walking dead podcast

As for who Neagan killed, I reckon it's one of these:

Glenn. The P.O.V suggests it's him but I doubt the 12 year old writers this show has figured this. It would be more shock to see him die than end the way they did so probably the least likely of my list.

Rosita. Ever since she got dumped by Duke Nukem, she's become pointless. I can't see where her character is going and would make sense to get rid of her.

Aaron. He's been periphery thus season and isn't one of the main group. But maybe not him as that would have 0 shock value and wouldn't effect the narrative too much. That leaves us with...

U-Jean. There been a lot of foreshadowing with regards to him and if this was GOT I would say it's a red herring but this is TWD, they don't know what red herrings are. He's had a complete story arc, beginning with not having any balls, then sucking some balls and finally growing some balls. He's had a moment of self sacrifice. He's said his goodbyes. He's passed on the ammo plan to Rick and they've made him quite liked by fans and the characters in the show including patching up his relationship with big ginge. He however wouldn't be too difficult to get rid of narratively. I'd be surprised if it isn't him.

They're all insane and/or thick with awful timing, weirdo tendencies and a propensity to squabble about bullshit endlessly, even Nick/Strand have gone off the deep end. It's somehow worse than in the regular series, why the feck am I still watching this?

Every season roughly the same plot on a different scale in a different place, yet still I find it to be entertaining. It isn't a bad show it's just getting a bit repetitive.

It has it's moments but while it exists in a grey-area, the main program has a few characters I like and can sympathise with, even if they're not 'good' people. the group do stupid shite all the time and make baffling decisions, but not consistently, they get it right at points and stakes are somewhat higher for them, they're way further into the future, this isn't the first few months.

Compare that to Fear... I dislike all of them bar Strand, Nick and maybe Ofelia. Useless, angsty tosspots who wreck everything needlessly and continuously, then bitch about it until they feck it all up yet again. Madison is just the worst, terribly written. If you haven't watched the latest episode... I hate these people and the writers even more.

I watched the first 5 ish episodes of the first season. I had to stop because it was terrible, and the acting/writing was even worse. I can't be bothered with that show, the acting is terrible, the writing is poor and the storyline itself was boring as hell.

I was just about to ask if anyone was watching FTWD.

After a dreadful 1st season, i thought the first 4 episodes of the second season were decent, atleast i felt i wanted to continue with it, then it got really bad again.

The show could have been great, but they have managed to create something without one likable character. They should have killed all the characters, except, Strand and Nick in finale of season 1, they are the only characters with appeal and would have made for a interesting setup. Instead the stone faced mother has step forward as the main character and she is the most irritating of all.

Yep, can't disagree with any of that. It's also weirdly implausible (I mean, yes, a zombie apocalypse is implausable in-of itself and it's tv) in doing the opposite of the main program - trying to cram a lot into a short period of time. The emotional moodswings on the show feel really badly written as a result, it's like someone jumps from 1 - 10 on the insanity scale every episode without any building to it. And yes, there's something about Madison's face which really annoys me.

Havent watched a bit of s2 and looks like its a good decision based on some of the posts in here. It felt like a poor version of TWD (which is atrocious and frustrating at times but has some redeeming features). The interest of Fear was meant to be about what is happening and nobody having a clue. The timejump killed it for me.

Is Fear that bad? I haven't watched any of it yet but the initial impressions I read all seemed positive. The last few episodes of the regular series were horrible though, I mean how many times can you get ambushed? This lot would get ambushed by a fecking tractor at this rate.

I think it was heading for S2 of TWD, with a re-run of being stuck on the farm, but maybe not, I still watch, but it seems very little happens at times. I do think both series would benefit from showing brief flashes of what is maybe happening elsewhere across the Americas or even further afield...

Season 7 trailer:

There's a freaking tiger in it!!!

Looks fecking class! The story of them finding people not far from them the whole time is complete bullshit and the seasons are usually slow as shit but hopefully this is the one we've been waiting for!

Yeah its a fantastic trailer. As for the show, the reveal needs to be right away imo. They cant go a whole episode then drop the bombshell at the end, that would suck.

Not very smart having a tiger, would be an absolute nuisance if it became infected. It's not even good for defence against zombies, if it eats them it will also be infected.

Surely it would move at a similarly slow speed though.

Anyone seen the new previews?

It's going to be tough to build up the suspense and fear from the end of the last season.

My predictions on who gets Lucille'd is staying the same

:lol:You wouldn't put it past them to have a zombie tiger in the plot. Can't be worse than the fire lake.

I haven't read the comics, but based on the story I think there's one character in greater danger than the others:

It has to be Michonne.

1. I think it needs to be a relatively important character. That leaves out a few a of them.
2. Killing off Rick would be bad for the story.
3. Killing off Carl, while I don't like him, would also be bad for the story. He's also still a kid, so I can't see him getting such a graphic death.
4. Glenn is apparently invincible and has Maggie spent too much time getting back together with him, so her death would feel pointless.
5. Darryl is too popular and he's already gotten shot, so I guess that will serve as his "punishment".

This pretty much leaves Michonne. Abraham and Eugene have gotten a decent amount of character development lately, so they are my second guess. But I think it will be Michonne.

Avoid searching for anything walking dead related online today. I did and now regret it

I think it was already spoiled for me and this was months ago, some feck on imgur linked a pic from the comic. Additionally that stupid yank on TYT Sports revealed some spoilers for last season in a video which has nothing to do with The Walking Dead!:mad:

When is the first episode out?
