Massive Spanner
The Football Wrench
The entire episode was awful, and then the last scene was building up really well, so I thought it would redeem itself, but nope, course not. Pile of shite.
God damn you Walking Dead. Fecking stupid cliffhanger. I don't mind a cliffhanger when there's a new episode the next week but to wait 7 months? Christ...
I was stupid enough to read up on Negan a while ago. So I f'n spoilered it for myself wrt who gets beaten
Unless the writers don't expect to stick to the comic book scripts? I'm not even sure if they have up until this point as I've never read a TWD comic in my life.
Yep. They introduced a new gang, the Saviors, and a new major fecking villain with Negan whose introduction took at least 5 episodes. Whoever was still watching The Walking Dead up to this point was probably going to watch the 7nd season too to check out what will happen between the Saviors and Rick's group. A cliffhanger wasn't necessary and should never be used in the last episode of a season. They really crossed a line with the milking and clickbaiting and people are rightly giving low votes to the finale on IMDB as far as I'm concerned.Exactly. It achieves nothing as well.
The perfect ending to this season would have been the shock factor at Negan taking a swing at one of our favourite characters. I know the beat down is probably a big part of the character, but as a series finale all we needed was one hit and cut to credits.
That's kind of my point. It's an unrealistic show so trying to figure out who it was based on the fact that they were able to come back up after the first blow isn't necessarily going to point you in the right direction. Of course it is fun to try and figure out who it is I just don't think it's as logical a process as you might think. I would agree though that Carl and Rick do appear to be off the hook judging by Negan's comments. It's unrealistic sure but we're talking about TWD here, it's not the most unrealistic thing in the show and whoever got whacked still raised their head after the first blow, hell they seemed to still be alive after a few blows.
The eenie meenie minie moe part was there to throw everybody off for sure, but that doesn't mean we can't rule out a few people at the very least, Carl & Rick being named dropped can definitely be ruled out. From then on it's just different people's individual theories.
What happened to that Jesus guy anyway?

That was tense as hell
Am I still the only idiot who enjoys this show?
I even consider this season the best so far, it was excellent

Nope. I love it. Of course it's unrealistic and the characters do stupid things but if they were always calm and composed and didn't do stupid shit there would be no show. That was tense as hell

I agree...although who knows maybe he'll get sick of the show and get killed off for that reason. It's happened with other shows.I think Rick will never die. The show will end with Rick in my opinion.
He might be a bigot though. There's no way a bloke like that is bludgeoning a fit bird so it's deffo a bloke.
Probably crawled under a bin or something.Ruling out Carl & Rick going off what Negan says, and any of the girls because you can hear their screams, it's Abraham or Glenn. Probably be Glenn but somehow survives again. Bullshit ending anyway, right fecking drag.
I thought Andrew Lincoln played his role really well in that last scene, without any dialogue too. Sold the fear/shock/disbelief really well. Was good and surprising to see Rick find himself so utterly helpless.
Thanks Wibble! That at least puts a little bit of suspense back into my life! The tv show and the comic have diverted significantly from each other so you probably don't know who was beaten.
Just had a thought, if you look back at the order they were sitting you can probably guess who got the beat down as the camera paused on the person next to the victim, might have a look back later. Hope it was Coral, unlikely though.
Quite enjoyed that episode fecked up ending but you kinda expected some sort of backlash after they murdered so many of them in their sleep. But one thing for sure is that you don't feck with Rick Grimes, look forward to him annihilating Negan and his crew next season.
Trevor from GTA was the non-Negan guy from the Saviours. I knew his voice was familiar.
The ending seemed like it was decided by AMC money men rather than a director/writers.
I actually quite enjoyed this season in contrast to others. At least in most episodes something actually happened. It's definitely improved from the farcical farm and prison series. That was tense as hell
