Television The Walking Dead

When Rick stabbed that bloke his blood poured out like it was water, which looked unnatural. Also I laughed when he stood up after stabbing that geezer, blood on his face and everyone staring at him and he just casually says "what?". Better than last week's episode, and next should be even better.
Will it feck, it'll probably focus entirely on shit characters like Carol who weren't in this episode.

Judging from the preview shown at the end of the episode we should get some action.

Also Carol, a shit character? The woman who went Solid Snake and saved the day at Terminus! You take that back! :nono:

Actually preferred last week's, that was a good change of pace. This week just felt like (well, was) foundation building. More into the program than I have been since series 1, this has been the best since then, things are obviously about to go very badly. Been barely into it for years - just skipped ahead through each episode to see what happened, never read the comics but the tension is getting to me. A few of the main cast have had a lot of fore-shadowy moments...

Edit - just saw thread title, changed things.

Why on earth would you put all of your best people into an old wheezy RV on a mission to the unknown?

That necklace the ginger got was gay and rubbish. If she really loved him and knew him well it would have been a dozen zombie ears on a bit of leather.

Rick's attitude bugged me. He's supposed to stay rational but the way he talks about killing Negan and his group as if they will win by definition is odd. I firmly believe one of Rick's group will get killed by Negan's guys now for 'shock value'.

By the way, there are 4 groups now right? Jesus' group, Rick's group, Negan's group and those guys with a W on their foreheads.

I do wish they talked like humans though.

Not the way its gone for him since this broke out. Theyve taken out everybody as Maggie pointed out, so arrogance or what, but in a way, hes kinda right to assume that in his own crazy way. Plus hes not really the rational one.

That was the best bit.

Rick's spent 5 seasons going on about not taking unnecessary risks. Then he just snap-calls on going to war with an unknown gang in exchange for some grub.

This battle is going to go horribly wrong and I can't wait.

Isn't it easier to just look harder for some food? Or kill the rubbish Jesus group and take all of theirs?

I think Rick's justification is if we don't kill them eventually they will find and kill us. I can sympathise with that view considering what happened with the wolves. I'm sure there is some altruistic benefit to not killing Jesus' group, I can't think of what right now but I know the doctor for instance is very useful.

Then they should unite. Isn't that the point of surviving anyway...to rebuild?

They have a bazooka and some pretty decent assault rifles. So I predict they are going to attack Negan's compound with a pocket knife and a spatula and some of their group will die.

Edit - It won't be Glenn who dies though. He'll come very close and be in a scenario where there is a 0.1% chance of survival and he'll make it.

One thing that bugged me about last week's episode.

Why the fook did Rick and Daryl leave the 300 when they found the truck? Why do that?

Also on this last episode. Rick said there were about 56 people in Alexandria. I've never got that feeling. It seems like there are around another dozen more than Rick's group.

I know this is the one show (apart from Sharknado) that just can't jump the shark because everything about it defies logic, but it just about bordered on satire this week. The moment they arrived at the seemingly Utopian Jesus compound I thought "surely, they can't possibly do this again ... the perfect world where Rick shows up and two seconds later it's mayhem." And sure enough, boom. I was actually chuckling during the whole attack on the compound and considering Rick's "what" response while dripping blood, I assume the writers knew how ridiculous it was. I think in season 10 we're going to discover that there are no walkers, there's been no apocalypse and Rick is a serial killer having a psychotic breakdown and killing innocent people.

How good would it be if they ended this season with him waking up in hospital with Shane and Lori and a young bi-eyed Coral all saying how worried they had been about him after he'd been shot.

He'll be rattling a snow shaker with zombies in it with a bit of thick spittle dribbling out of the corner of his mouth.

 Probably true.

That was another thing about last night's episode.

The RV gets stuck in a big muddy puddle. Jesus goes oh it's OK we're here. There's only a big feck-off log wall right in front of them. How did Rick not notice that before he drove into the mud. Totalling unnecessary scene

I have 2 theories

The truck from last week's episode was packed with food. Yet this episode we're led to believe that Hilltop is not left wanting for food.
Isn't it coincidence that Jesus happens to be in the right place when Daryl & Rick stop? I mean they only stopped because Eugene wanted some snacks, so he had to have followed them or known.
I think the food was maybe meant for Negan's people. Then instead they saw the car left by Rick & Daryl and thought they had been conned out of their deal, thus taking it upon themselves to send a message to Hilltop.

Also foreshadowing - When Maggie was staring at the woman who was crying and stroking the face of the guy who stabbed Gregory. I know he never dies, but Glen's gotta die, right? Or Maggie maybe and her unborn baby

Thrilling episode. More of this, it was intense, it was brutal, it was what weve all wanted tbh.

There are still dumb things happening for the sake of forwarding the plot, like seriously, its Maggies idea so you let her come along? What? shes freakin pregnant, its just insane. (and of course, it leads to one of the best and ruthless people they have having to babysit her, and thus being caught cos of it).
Or Dingleberry guy breaking up with Rosita, right before they go on a mission, which could result in her not thinking straight. Hes really dumping Rosita for a chance with Sasha? Really? GTFO.

But the stakes are raised. Its went from rescue mission, to full on slaughter which more than crosses the line of no return, which is great for the story. Action was fantastic too

Wouldnt be surprised if they have Carol get killed. They showed she has a kill count, shes the "mother" of the town, has a kiss with that dude, shows she cares for Maggie (and was right about Maggie and her stupidness). Which normally leads to a character dying. Shes had the best arc tbf with regards to character development.

Surely it's cheating having The Winter Soldier on your team

I'm worried for that bloke who was with Glenn. He's fast becoming a strong black character and so unlikely to get many decent lines or last long.

Finally some action and heavy tension. Too bad we didn't see the kidnapping of Carol and Maggie. Just wondering, with how many are the Saviors? They killed loads of people in that building.

This is the show that brought us the stealth zombie (guest appearance on this episode too). I can believe anything.

OH yes, I totally forgot about it. Silent zombie until its almost within biting distance, then noisy as feck.

I wish the writers don't give us this Maggie-Glen separation to reunion storyline again, just be done with them and kill them both off. Can't be doing with listening to Glenn blub and cry before he narrowly escapes death for 5th time.

Great episode. I'm just happy it wasn't the shit episode we were all expecting, focusing on what happened in the town while the interesting group were murdering people. When it started with baking cookies I did not have high hopes.

What was Morgan welding then...some urban street art, a gimp cage?
 I think it was supposed to be a jail cell.

Also, anyone else find it comical how easily everyone punctures skulls on this show? Like, is everyone's head made of jello? They just slide their knives through heads as if it's tissue paper. :wenger:
