Television The Walking Dead

What I don't understand is:

Why did they need to move the walkers from the quarry. I know Rick explained that the lorries blocking them in could fall at any time, but surely it's better to re-build and strengthen those barricades. The quarry was acting as a magnet for other walkers, therefore protecting the town, so why not try to preserve that situation.

Just please for the love of god kill off that useless, fat piece of fecking lard Eugene.

No. He's brilliant. More Eugene I say.

Fire would have been my answer. Lots and lots of fire. Couple of bottles of petrol and some matches at the ones nearest the barricades. Grenades for the ones in the middle. kill them all when they're penned in the quarry. They'd all set each other alight.

He's a fat sack of shit. I want him to get the most horrendous death in the history of television.

I'd assume it was because they were to close to Alexandria or something? They mentioned Daryl etc would drive for 20miles on their own before leaving the walkers to carry on walking. I assume the logic is that they're far safer with them 20+ miles away than what seemed like a couple of miles at most.

The episode itself was quite enjoyable I thought, can't see where it's going which is a good thing. Going off past history of the show there's a chance they'll mess it up but at the moment I quite happy with it. Looking forward to next week.

Nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

I was thinking the same. A few strategic petrol bombs and they'd be sound. It'd be the greatest fire the north has ev-- whoops wrong show.

Watched the first five seasons, is it worth starting the new one?

That horn though.........

Decent but unspectacular opening episode, what's with all the black and white too. I know it's for mood but I want to see colour

I am getting real tired of Daryl, Morgan, Michonne etc questioning Rick's attitude, let him be badass for feck sake.

It wasn't for mood, it was just a device to show which scenes were flashbacks. Lets hope it's just for one episode. Can't really say much about this one, clearly just filling us in on the story and setting up te season. Next one should be interesting.

So many walkers kept falling into the quarry that eventually they were going to break through no matter how much they fortified the barricade, and the road let straight from the quarry to Alexandria which is why they had to build a temporary barrier on the road to get them to turn.

Enjoyable episode. Ive liked it since theyve found the new town (and the episode leading to it). Seeing a few dumb as fck characters die made it fun too. Having Morgan there with Rick is great. The plan made sense. I assume they didnt want to set the thing on fire as they couldnt predict what would happen or how to stop it if it started building up (and stray walkers).

Two lines made me laugh, one about the strong hair game and the other was about missing protein bar.

Overall I liked it.

where the feck is Coral?

I love the way they all act as if you need full-on military training to shoot a walker in the head from 3 metres

They're also overly fond of turning their back on approaching walkers to kill one that's just walked past them for some reason then acting really surprised when they get attacked from behind.

It really pissed me off the way they'd be constantly looking at him and/or the camera would focus on their disappointed face. Seriously like, just fcuk off with that. And uh, a stealth walker strikes again.

It's fine Morgan doing it. He can do no wrong in my eyes. Was hoping for a Morgan centric episode.

Oh look, there's a T-Dog version 5!

Watched the episode last night and genuinely forgot what was going on it's been that long since the last series.

Me and the missus found ourselves checking to see how much longer was left at times. Not a bad episode, but all those black and white bits and the absolutely terrible dialogue once again breaks up the pacing and what seems an interesting idea. I just really wish it wasn't such a long season again filled with those ridiculous one on one filler chats that take the story nowhere.

And yes, everyone bar Rick are fecking stupid again. Especially Glenn and his blossoming bromance with the guy who tried to kill him (after escaping a pile of zombies on top of him) and that firework ninja woman who we are supposed to believe is playing the housewife but is actually a commando and all the hints at it are just terrible.

Every season since the second we've said it, but like the spinoff, I can see us actually giving up this time. It's just so stupidly written and has far too much time to kill and it's a big shame.

I always find comedy dead forced in The Walking Dead compared to other TV shows. Each to their own I suppose but it just seems to be trying to hard to be funny and never sounds natural.

It dead seem a bit long and the dialogue has never been the best.

I think the Glenn thing will go some weird way where his bird (are they still together by the way?!) gets the guy outed as trying to kill Glenn and they all want him gone only for Glenn to stand up to him.

One of the main reasons I watch it is I want to know how it will end but they reckon they have ideas for up to 12 seasons!! I dunno how as they seem to struggle with the current ones.

Lol 12 seasons. That would be such a drag! It will be like the pre-credits scene in 22 Jump Street. They've done a camp site, prison, farm, hospital (kind of), what next? Disney World? Shopping Mall? Maybe a new country? How about the Google Complex? Haha, will be funny what's the next place they bump into.

Yep god knows how they'll do it, like you point out they basically rehash the same story in different locations most the time. I'd imagine we'd get a few seasons like Season 4 where everyone is just walking for about 7 episodes. The way they need to make the show more interesting for me is by flashbacks. They hinted at one once with Michonne but that was it. Similar to Lost it would probably give you a bit more appeal to a character if you knew how they got in that situation rather than just accepting that they are there, showing their lives beforehand would make it far more interesting.

I suppose with this show they are just milking a cash cow at the moment, it's not exactly a hugely complex show and people have stuck with it, it's one of the most watched shows in America so they would argue why change something that's not broken? They have a point as well but it would be nice if they mixed it up a bit somehow instead of the same usual plot formula.

1) Rick makes a controversial decision
2) it goes wrong slightly
3) people doubt him
4) Rick wins everyone round
5) Ricky becomes leader of somewhere by electing himself
6) the "others" turn o Rick whilst the regulars stay loyal to him (1 or 2 interesting characters stick with him as well and break off from the other gang)
7) Rick and the gang decide to move on
8) walk for a while, run into some walkers and kill them, 1 recurring cast member is killed
9) a "mysterious" figure bumps in to them and takes them somewhere where they find shelter and peace
10) repeat step 1

That's a great shout actually with the flash backs. They could even, Lost style make the characters bump into each other pre- apocalypse making everyone connected. Could also be a good excuse to bring back killed characters into the flash backs.

Or maybe not haha. They're missing an antagonist at the moment. I actually quite liked the show when the governer was the villain. Thought that was it's peak. A new villain at least gives the show direction perhaps. They had potential with the canibals but they finished that story way too quickly. The hospital too.

Yeah they've done it a couple of times that I can remember (Michonne dream sequence and Rick/Shane had a very brief one) but it would just add a bit of interest to the inevitable filler episodes we get every season. It would help explain motives of people as well. For example why does no one trust Rick when he is right every single time?! There's potential to add so much interest to characters but instead they just focus on Rick. I appreciate people may of though Lost's were a bit OTT at times with half the episode being a flashback but even just a few minutes filler would be good.

I agree when they're all fighting for the same cause it gets a bit tedious with no villain. Re your last point though they canibals are still in it aren't they? The ones with the "W" on their heads. They were one of the last scenes of last series form what I remember.

I think the W people are a whole new group unrelated to the canibals. Correct me if I'm wrong. Don't think they are canibals?

Cannibal storyline should have been much more menacing. It seemed like they got them in the finale, in the opener, they were ambushed, then later episode were killed.

Fck no, hes the original T-Dog, no wait, hes the original Morgan. The rest of the T-Dogs have been Faux-gans!

I think thats why I found it funny. It seemed so unnatural lol

I think he was talking about Edgar Davids

That was a terrible episode. I have come to the conclusion I hate all of them now and I hope they get eaten. Especially Carol. Probably the last episodes I will watch.

Carol is still there? Also where is Coral? This show is stupid.
