Anyone had kidney issues with the Moderna?

I’ve felt like I’ve been hit by a bus today after having the second jab yesterday but the worst bit at the minute is I can’t stop pissing and my kidneys are killing me

Feeling any better?

Tried to get my second dose a couple of weeks early. There were signs everywhere on the entrance saying 2nd dose has to have been at least 8 weeks prior and unsurprisingly I was turned down.

Got my second Pfizer jab. Thought I was experiencing breathlessness and started to worry. Then realised I changed the coil in my vape and was sooking back plumes of nicotine salts like a stupid bastard all day.

Other than a few aches on the second day I've been lucky. One of my workmates has been properly fecked with it to the point where they're so tired they keep forgetting stuff.

My mind is melting. I just had a salesperson come to my door:

1. He was unmasked (I was masked)
2. He told me as part of his spiel that COVID is fading and not a big deal
3. He told e he will never get the vaccine because...
4. He told me that they were putting the second strain into vaccinations
5. He told me to drink elderberry juice to fight off COVID
6. He tried to shake my hand

what is going on. we are doomed as a country and as a species.

Funny enough, we really are!

feeling some missing synergies in his strategy

He's walking through a middle class neighborhood in a county at 70% vaccination and a suburb close to 90%. Not sure pitching vaccination conspiracies is the best strategy.

Picture of the guy in the thread, 100 times in better shape then i will ever be how many of these stories do you have to go through till it clicks.

I am struggling with that right now. He was a young guy, said he had kids and had just moved here. I call and he likely loses his job.
Then he should think about his kids and also think about how many vulnerable people he might influence badly and how that might turn out for them

Had my second Pfizer yesterday. Feeling completely fine this morning except for the sore arm :D

My second dose is booked in September but I've just had a text that I can have it earlier. The September date will be just over 2 months since the first dose, I've read that the longer you wait for the second dose the better immunity your body builds. I was wondering whether to just keep the appointment as is, or move it earlier? Is there a reason why they've asked if I want to move it earlier?

Had my second dose of Pfizer yesterday, sore arm again like the last time but accompanied by fatigue and a headache :( feeling a bit better now though

Thts what happened to me. Took three days for fatigue to fade away but a 1000 mg doliprane 2x a day did wonders for the headache

It could be a local thing. If rates are high in your area then the balancing act is a bit different - sacrifice a bit of long-term protection for quicker results. Most of the world has stuck to 3/4 week intervals, so it's not as if it's a wild move.

Areas are doing some balancing stock as well, so they may be trying to fill enough clinics next week to use a complete batch. Basically every area wants to have first doses available, even if they don't have enough second doses booked for all the clinics. Some of the supply is apparently close to its QC date.

Yeah I had the same, but I don’t know if the tiredness was from a shit nights sleep or the jab, called in sick, my place gives us 2 days off for it. So I went back to bed slept till late and still fecked.

Anecdotally - I read so many people complaining of adverse reactions to AZ vaccines in this thread and with the UK folks I work with, but it is very rare in India for me to hear about someone who has had more than a mild effect of the vaccine. I wonder if this has something to do with the impact of COVID itself which, despite being very high in 2021 due to Delta, was still much lower per capita(and people are already out and about in the streets with no rise in infections).

I know there's a bias in that I'm more likely to hear frmo the UK folks who had adverse reactions.

As someone currently in vaccine passport limbo as a result of being on the Novavax clinical trial. Groans...

Reading the article, I'm still clinging to hope that they are actually manufacturing something. Maybe even that they really will be ready to go to the MHRA in September (and WHO in August? - how?)

As for EMA, well the EU has finally signed a contract with Novavax, so maybe Novavax really do have product.

On the other hand, they said that would go to the MHRA in April, then in June, then July, then third quarter, now maybe this quarter UK and Q4 EMA and the US. Place your bets really. I'm still not ruling out the idea that the whole company is just a share scam designed for the pump and dump stock market.

Second Pfizer done. Same as the first time, sore arm but thankfully nothing else. So happy to have got both doses. The NHS have done really well with the vaccine rollout.

You have anything after the first other than the sore arm? Just had my first an hour ago and felt nothing after the first but feel like I'm just waiting in anticipation for at least a headache on this one.

Had my second Moderna jab Monday this week, really wasn't expecting the side effects I got.

Felt fine straight afterward went back to work had a normal evening, woke up about 2 in the morning really dehydrated, shivering 1 moment, and then sweating the next. didn't really manage to sleep after that and no matter what I did I could get the dryness in my mouth to go. The next morning the gland under my left arm had swollen up ( i was jabbed in the left arm) and felt dizzy every time i tried to move. Basically lied in bed all day Tuesday guzzling water by the bucket load.

Wednesday I needed to do some work in the morning but that was a mistake and ended up sleeping for most of the afternoon.

Thursday felt a lot better, just a bit light-headed, dehydrated, and still with a swollen armpit.

Today (Friday) armpit is going down, there is a hint of moisture in my mouth and just lacking energy.

Gonna be honest I thought some of my colleagues had made the most of the side effects, but I 100% take that back, not pleasant at all.

I'm sure they know that but it's not released yet. That article is based off the earnings call, where they did say full results would be released in a few weeks. The 93% figure is across all variants.

I’m sure they do know but I’ll take the headline figures with a pinch of salt until that data is released.

To be clear, I’m sure it still works well against Delta. They all do. But when you see headline efficacy % that high you have to assume it includes a lot of the earlier, more vaccine susceptible variants. And it would be fairly typical of a pharma company to trumpet the headline %, while burying the more relevant data in the small print, or in later less widely circulated press releases (and I’m saying this as someone who works in pharma!)

Delighted with my lack of symptoms from the second one. Feeling completely fine and even my arm wasn't that sore.

How were you after the first? From a lot I’ve spoken to they tend to be fine with one and have side effects with the other. My first was no issues other than a sore arm, second knocked me out for about 24 hours.

No, thankfully just a really sore arm for about 2 days then it went itself.

First one I woke up at 2am with an horrendous headache and sweats but it went by morning.

Update: so my sore arm has gone and the fatigue/headache, but now (t.m.i) there is a slightly painful/uncomfortable lump underneath my armpit. Anyone had similar and should I be concerned?

Literally minutes after typing this I started getting the shakes, shivering feeling sick do I went to bed, now as I'm walking up I feel like I was on a mad one last night, worse than any hangover I've had in years.

With the shivering I was thinking did I eat something that would cause that as it felt like the time I had lamb cutlets at work and it made me uncontrollable cold when I got home until I got vomited
