Quoting this with fixed tags for the last video, in case people miss it. Corey's voice on the song is excellent, and the best I've ever heard him.
Thanks, i hadn't noticed that, believe it or not! Imo Corey is one of the best voices in metal, right now. His vocals on "The house of gold and bones" are amazing.Quoting this with fixed tags for the last video, in case people miss it. Anyone into Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats?
The Duskfall seem to be a good band, The Final Harvest seem to be a great band. Any album recommendations?
Lindberg is definitely one of the most eminent metal figures from the 90's. Can't wait to hear the new At The Gates album... until then:
Of course, they are magnificent. I'm going to see them live in a week. Should your music fix include late-‘60s-to-mid-‘70s vintage rock, Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats are a long lost friend from the past, stopping by to say hello and catch up to what has been, what is and what will be.
Painkiller is an incredible album - Every song is a killer. Guitar work is ace on that album too.I went a bit mental today. I had some time to kill so nipped in HMV. I left with 5 albums. Iron Maiden's Fear of the Dark, Judas Priest's, Painkiller and Killing Machine and Sabaton's Carolus Rex and Coat of Arms.

The first time I listened to Painkiller I didn't listen to it again for 2 years. Then a mate of mine mentioned it to me and I said I didn't rate it. He asked me to listen to it again and I've loved it ever since. Everything just seems faster, louder, heavier. That said if Halford's screeching is not floating your boat it's pretty tough to get past that haha.I feel like i should like it more but don't. The songs are cool, but Halford's vocals get on my nerves. The cover art annoys me and the record has a cartoonish sound to it. Screaming for Vengeance, Sad Wings or Stained Class are the best Priest albums imo.

It's Avalon, first track of the new album "Empire of the Undead". I edited my post with a working link.@TheRedDevil'sAdvocate , what was the gamma ray song you posted? Copyrighted now.
Some great stuff, released in 2014
And these are from the tribute album to the one and only Ronnie James Dio

Any Mastodon fans? New track 'High Road' is up for streaming. Sounds fecking killer. Great riff, awesome chorus, loving the Crack The Skye style vocals too.

Wasn't a big fan of them till I saw them live. Not heard much of their studio stuff, will give this a crack.
They've got something for everyone, which is how i got into them. Harsh early stuff, (Remission) prog rock, (Blood Mountain) conceptual (Crack The Skye, probably my favourite due to a good mix of progressive metal, melody and clean vocals) and straight ahead heavy metal. (The Hunter)
I immediately dismissed Leviathan because of the harsh vocals, and got 'The Hunter' instead. But Leviathan grew on me like mad.
