The Trump Presidency - Part 2

Absolutely. I work for a big biotech and some of our sales reps, who cover academic accounts, are big Trumpers. Can't wait for them to rock up to comp committee with "I missed my number because my accounts lost their funding".
I work in big STM publishing, it'll be a while before we see the results but basically there will be less research being published because the finding for it has gone

Perhaps it’s the way you’re explaining your position, but if I can try to summarise the fundamental difference as it comes across to me…

You seem to be suggesting he’s a “small government libertarian” (your posts say he’s inclined towards those policies which suggests that’s his motivation), and as a byproduct of this bad shit can result.

I (and I think most every else) sees it as he’s an evil cnut doing evil things because all he cares about is enriching himself and his mates, who in turn enrich him, and pleasing his angry mob. Then as a byproduct of that, some stuff may fit the libertarian narrative in some way.

The difference is what he’s aiming for and what is by accident. Labelling him the way you are insisting on doing is focusing on the wrong thing.
He's both TBH - small Government means less outgoings and more $$$$ available to give tax cuts to himself and his mates, and the by product of small government means less scutiny and regulation of things that actually matter

Bloody democrats hadn't of pushed Hilary in 2016, with the people clearly not wanting a Clinton in charge, probably wouldn't see the big tangerine in charge.

Find it funny that people said "no one actually follows all this terminally online shit in real life" in some capacity probably going back to the mid-terms. And all we have gotten as critical first week executive government decision making is the most terminally online, 4chan 8kun gutter crap that anyone could imagine. DEI, Woke, Gender, JFK assassination files, J6 criminals. It's ALL online crap.

For anybody who needs a breather and wants to step away from the frustration for a moment, I can recommend Paul Bloom's article, Blood is Thicker, as a way to maybe make a little more sense of the loyalty and morality of this shit show. Bloom unpacks why we prioritize family and close connections, even when it conflicts with justice or fairness. He wrote the original article about 6 months before Biden's pardoning spree, so it's not a hindsight piece. Make sure to follow the linked sources and articles if you have the time. https://smallpotatoes.paulbloom.net/p/blood-is-thicker-63b

My friend is a bounty hunter and just posted this on Facebook

Might have to come out of retirement

Mississippi Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program is a proposed bill that would pay bounty hunters to help U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deport undocumented immigrants. The program would offer a $1,000 reward for each successful deportation.

You two should stop now. Usually the side stories that branch off from the main thread are mildly interesting or amusing but yours has been anything but.

As you're can see then I asked him to stop several times, but he kept on coming at me.

I'm sure you can appreciate that when someone calls into question your name and integrity, for the sake of being right on the internet, it's not something you realistically can ignore, unless you're a bit wet.

With respect I'll stop when a person stops attacking me, not before or when you think I should. If he responds to this now we all know who to thank for it.

If I was American I would genuinely think about emigrating. It isn’t a country I would want to live in right now
Desperately trying to convince my FIL (and then my wife) to get his Irish citizenship as his grandmother was an immigrant for county Kerry. He’d rather get drunk every night and yell at the tv. America.
