Feck him. So called anti-imperialist doing his best excusing Russia's invasion of Ukraine over the last years. He can talk about fascism all he wants but it's empty coming from him.

Just the usual pump and dump scam using social media to get people in. Some people will cash out and some will be the bag holders. Should be illegal.
He condemned Russia's invasion every time I've heard him speak. And he's generally correct about most of the topics he's speaking on. An actual journalist. I don't have to agree with everything he says but he outdoes any journalist in mainstream America imo.
Also, if you can avoid Russia, just check the man's story. War reporter, teaches in prisons for free, winner of that prestigious journalism award, writer of many books on fascism over the past twenty years. You're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
You mean you agree with the thesis? I think it's compelling. It's only a thirteen minute video to be fair. He has many books on the topic of fascism in America.
Is a scam. We could get lost philosophically on if the economic system known as capitalism is a scam or not, but it would be a different type of scam if we would reach that conclusion

His condemnation is "invasion bad BUT Russia was baited into invading Ukraine" and arguing for a moratorium on arms to Ukraine. I know enough about types like him. They'd be the biggest cheerleader of a Ukrainian loss as long as they can frame it as a Western loss too.
But the scam is a part of, and possible because of, capitalism. Value created out of nothing, purely based on speculation that the value will go even higher (which it will, because of the speculation that the value will go even higher, and because it's Trump). What's happening here would be wrong even if this wasn't a scam.
I know what you mean but I just disagree entirely. It's not even the topic he's discussing (which is fascism in the states and around the world).
And history, in years to come, whatever we think, will not frame this Russian invasion in the binary terms demanded by various states (which became exposed very quickly when they 0'd a genocide in Gaza but 1'd an invasion from Russia). That is, the Western states are a joke (not all of them) in their foreign policy and the contradictions were laid as bare as they could be by what happened in Gaza.
Each was wrong but only one was condemned. At least Hedges condemns both.

Exactly. There were no repercussions for Trump after the Georgia call following the 2020 election. The man is literally on tape asking for them to cheat and hand him the election. He is not going down on some crypto pump and dump with invisible victims that no one can be bothered to understand anyway. You'd probably need some kind of financial/IT forensic team to sort it out.
The whole "I could shoot someone on 5th Avenue" thing is not an exaggeration anymore. He could do it and get away with it, and I do mean that literally.

It's depressing regardless how I view it. But the ceasefire was crucial. It's less terrible than what can happen next if it holds. Trump moved the embassy to Jurusalem so I'm under no illusions (Kushner basically ran his Israeli policy for profit, too).
But they want the Abraham Accords which requires some form of resolution re Palestine. So maybe his legacy is worth more to him (he's not really an ideologue whatever else he is: capital is his ideology really).
Ended a war, made a crypto that is going to make us all rich and saved tik tok! All this before he is even president. What a man!!

I’m not sure they are capable. The Democrats are completely rudderless at the moment. The corporate centrist element is still the power in the party, and they have no compelling message. They either turn into a populist workers party or keep their epic losing streak going.
