The Trump Presidency - Part 2

Just noticed that Vivek references Friends in his rant. As a negative influence. Literally lakhs of Indians of a certain generation and class, *many* of whom ended up in America as H1-B migrants, loved that show. Just so disconnected from everything including the culture he supposedly wants to create.

Loomer v Musk

Haley v Vivek

Vivek v his own countrymen and women

It's just getting started....

Even those these clowns might have a point at one time or another, ultimately they are still not for the average working person. These distractions may be fun, but they are just distracting from the fact that they are all out for themselves.

As someone of Indian descent myself, I absolutely delight in seeing Vivek and other colored people on that side of the spectrum getting shanked by the white people whose boots they have been licking.

You are nothing more than a little performing monkey for them, one they delight in having because they can say “I’m not racist, I support Vivek”. Sure, your pockets may be fatter but they won’t ever accept you or truly care for you, and I love when they are reminded of that.

Traitorous scum.

MAGA turning on Indian Americans... IJBOL
If some one leaked numbers on how many engineers of Indian & Chinese origin the big tech employs in US, the racist MAGA loons would lose their minds.

Wow, judging someone's politics by their race? That's so enlightened, truly the peak of progressive thought.

Haha Elon has suspended Loomer's account, removed her subscriptions and ability to monetize.

Freedom of speech platform

They'll make-up in the end because these evil feckers always do but for the time being :

This is precisely what a healthy democratic debate should look like (minus the deplatforming, of course!).

It’s also brought attention to real flaws in the H-1B program and how some in Big Tech leverage cheap labor to the detriment of American workers. The current system essentially encourages people to immigrate here under near-indentured conditions, taking on grueling jobs at suppressed wages—roles that most Americans don’t want at those salary levels.

Let’s hope these discussions lead to genuine reform, because our immigration system is broken whether “high-skilled” or “low-skilled.”

Fine then I'm a reactionary race-baiting conservative :)

So, do you have a response to what he said other than labeling and name-calling like a typical woke pink-hair?

No she's not lolz

Sorry I should have given her the proper title, podcaster.

I honestly can't tell if you're the most naive person on the caf or just trolling.

I already did - pay attention Piyush

not sure who piyush is. are you drunk?
no, your response was to say he's not being progressive. that's not a response. is progressivism, your definition of it, the only way to see the world?

I fundamentally disagree with their perspective. It’s disappointing to see such hateful language directed at someone based on their beliefs or choices. Using terms like “little performing monkey” or “traitorous scum” to describe someone simply because they align with a different political ideology is not only offensive but also reductive.

Frankly, this should be obvious, but here we are.

Ok you spelt it out without labeling maybe one day you can be based maga too!

I agree with cloud's perspective because I think solidarity with others, especially those less fortunate, is a good thing, and that minorities (racial or religious) cannot survive without some degree of solidarity from the majority and other minorities. So, I feel individuals from minority groups that don't show it to their own, or to other minorities, should bear painful consequences.

Alright, Piyush—I'm not sure what your first sentence is supposed to mean, but it's obvious that clarity of thought and expression isn't exactly your strength.

Your second sentence is flawed because it assumes that GOP voters—representing more than half the country—harbor animosity toward minorities, and that any person of color associated with them should "bear painful consequences". If that's truly your perspective, perhaps living in the United States isn't the best environment for you..

My name isn't Piyush. Can you explain why you call me that?

And yes, I'm not sure if the US is the best environment for me either. But I have a job and a project that is incomplete, so I intend to finish it before making a decision.
I do think almost all Republicans harbour animosity towards various groups who are made up of minorities, and many of them harbour animosity towards minority communities as a whole. In this regard, they are no different than the voters of right-wing parties in most countries of the world.

Not gonna lie, I kind of missed this thread.

Can we unban Santi_mesut_erectus or whatever his name was?

I don't get this Piyush rhetoric that you've been pushing on Berbatrick. Where is it coming from and honestly, why?

That said, a couple of things here. GOP does have an issue with Immigration and minorities. See image below and also, this document - For some white Americans, "Stop the Steal" refers not just to perceived voter fraud, but to their own loss of status in a more diverse society.

From the paper you quoted:

Given the volatility of the issue, Wilson cautioned against making broad accusations of racism, and against failing to understand the nature of racial resentment.

Most policy and political discussions are anchored in historical ideas of racism, he said, and ‘racism’ may be the word we use reflexively when policy or cultural issues turn to racial conflict. But that raises enormous risk for continuing polarization — and it makes reconciliation more difficult.

“We shouldn’t treat race in a cheap way, just relying on the easiest explanation,” he said. Sometimes there’s a sense that white people … dislike Blacks or they want to keep Blacks down. But no — it could be that they genuinely have a problem with a policy, or they like a particular candidate better, but they are not racist themselves.

“That may lead to some discomfort, because it’s a slippery slope to letting racism and fascism and everything that follows take over. But you also run the risk of the slippery slope if you call everybody a racist, and they’re not. They’ll stop listening to you.”

Wow, judging someone's politics by their race? That's so enlightened, truly the peak of progressive thought.

If a Jew venerates Hitler’s policies or a Korean the imperial Japanese forces, you better believe I and others will be judging their politics by their race.

Vivek isn’t just a run of the mill McCain/Romney esque Republican. He espouses the great replacement theory.

There's plenty to criticize about Vivek. For three years on the campaign trail, he embodied the classic “assimilated Indian,” extolling the virtues of American culture — its freedoms, value and opportunities. Then, in an about-face, he published an essay railing against “lazy American culture,” contradicting every flattering word he once uttered. The hypocrisy is glaring.

Yet instead of honing in on this or other legitimate critiques, some people retreat to tired identity politics, insisting a “brown person” can’t be a prominent Republican ("traitorous scum", "should bear painful consequences"), or claiming Trump is somehow Hitler. It’s a hollow, ignorant, third world, one-dimensional argument. Just... feck off.

Please respond to the question about repeatedly calling Berbatrick as Piyush.

Also, the point of discussion was not that the GOP was racist. The point was that GOP members harbored animosity against minorities - a fact supported by both the paper and the poll. It is possible that some of this animosity stems from racism, and it is also possible that some of it is due to misattributed issues caused by policies. However, it is clear that there is a strong bias against minorities within the Republican party, which fuels hostility towards them..

Wow, judging someone's politics by their race? That's so enlightened, truly the peak of progressive thought.

Yeah but it's unsurprising Dinesh D'Souza is judging someone's politics by their race. He's obviously not a peak of progressive thought.

Kinda ironic Loomer is calling out Chinese influence with the techbros but doesn't seem to mind the Russian influence in a portion of the GOP party including her cult leader.

I think Vivek is late to the party about the "Zach and Slater over Screech" bit - athletes and affluent persons have always been championed over the geek/nerd type but that hasn't stopped the latter types from making their marks on the world.

'Friends' sucked ass, btw.
