as you can see from the comments, their only comeback atm is, "at least he's listening to constituents". They've got nothing.

They have though, in around two weeks they have the House, Senate, Supreme Court and the Presidency.
They may have just lost a vote on their bill, but they stopped a bill that was highly likely to succeed and by stopping that and presenting the one they did, they removed $190 MILLION in funding towards kids with cancer..... Apparently that was Musk's call.
That's not nothing. That's pure evil.
Unelected individuals interfering in democracy for their own personal reasons. Tinpot democracy levels. Absolute joke. Sign of times to come in the UK if Musk donates to Reform. He will want something back for his money.
Oh wowi wasn't talking that broadly. I'm solely talking about getting Trump to hate his inner circle. Right now they are getting some traction with the "President Musk" Stuff and we can only hope that gets to Trump and hurts his paper-tissue ego.
The largest exports are medicines, pharmaceutical products and machinery for factories and power plants. Someone might want to tell his voters that tariffs on the EU just means that they will have to pay more for medicine, medical treatment and electricity.
The debt ceiling is a bit daft, isn't it?
I joked in the election thread that Trump winning would be good for Palestine, and ... I'm beginning to buy my own bs.
Trump and RFK do enough of this nationally and there won't be a superpower to hold Israel's hand through the remaining steps of the cleansing.
Fingers crossed!

I dunno if Trump will jettison Elon that quickly given the amount of power and influence he wields. He'll want Elon around to get one of his maga cronies in in 2028 too.
I can't see RFK lasting the term though. The vast majority of people obviiously don't want this antivax shite and if he influences policy there will be a strong pushback.
Not sure about the vast majority. The lack of trust in the government and media has spread everywhere. Conspiracy theories are off the chart and the amount of anti-vaxxers is see now, especially since COVID is insane. It definitely seems like it is becoming a sizeable percentage of the US population. I wouldn't be shocked if it was up around 1/4
yeah I wouldn't be that surprised with 1/4 either
still, going against 3/4 is not something a populist will typically entertain unless there is a material advantage in doing so
the only reason he gave Kennedy the gig was in return for helping him win the election. I'm not sure what help Kennedy is to him now, beyond having the Kennedy name on your side which I doubt Trump gives a feck about
I think it is telling that from the very moment RFK was announced as being on board with Trump he's virtually disappeared. I am absolutely certain he thinks he's made a huge mistake and has just laid low as much as possible.
He knew what Trump was like and what and who he is, but I have a feeling once he stepped in the Trump inner circle he instantly regretted it and he knows he can't come out against Trump now so he's just doing the absolute bare minimum to keep Trump happy.
Just my thoughts, and obviously I could be completely wrong.
I think his goal was to run as the maga pick for 2028 but I don't think it's realistic at all. He has some insane views but played a blinder to get in this position in fairness. I saw a clip of him going on about poppers causing AIDS the other day, and he says it with such confidence it's scary. Either he's a world class grifter or a lunatic, I suppose, but I'd lean towards latter.
As I’ve said before, I don’t think there will be an election in 2028 - at least not a free and fair one.Yeah, he definitely had.2028 in mind, but I'm hoping MAGA will have caused so much damage by then they will be unelectable. The Dems really have to spend the next year picking who should run in 28 and get behind them fully.

Fair point. What I’m saying is that it’ll probably look like elections in places like Hungary and Russia, where the winner is already known before. When was the last time they had a truly free and fair election?
Absolutely he does. And that‘s why he is in the crosshairs. It’s funny because Bernie actually is one of the few who does represent his constituents.
https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/trump-says-he-might-demand-panama-hand-over-canal-2024-12-22/WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, Dec 22 (Reuters) - President-elect Donald Trump threatened to reassert U.S. control over the Panama Canal, accusing Panama of charging excessive rates to use the Central American passage, which allows ships to cross between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
Speaking to a crowd of supporters in Arizona on Sunday, Trump also said he would not let the canal fall into the "wrong hands," warning of potential Chinese influence on the passage.

I hate the US politics spiel of how "The presidential candidate is a puppet!!", happened to almost everybody bar Obama:
Bush: Dick Cheney was running the show
Hilary: She's the puppet for Goldman Sachs
Biden: He's Sullivan / [insert group of Dem inner circle people here] puppet!
Trump: Elon's puppet
Close advisors running part of the show has always been the case in US politics, it's just more obvious now given in this iteration the close advisor is the richest man in the world and an online shittalker.
