The Trump Presidency - Part 2

Obviously pre-planned.

Obviously had no intent to sign any “agreement”

Which begs the question why did zelensky come in the first place.

Knew he couldn’t turn down the invite and would have to go toe to toe?

One thing is for sure. Trump is dangerous and cannot be trusted.

The EU must come together to defend Europe.

Zelenskyy did very well to keep his cool especially with that idiot Vance talking absolute nonsense to him.

I just wish Europe would stand up for itself more so they didn’t need the US half as much.
Indeed, Europe must stand up ….show some backbone.

Europe really has to learn its lesson from this and stop any kind of dependencies from the US or Russia. Neither can be trusted. This is an absolute shambles.

fecking hell, this is even worse than what most could have imagined.

Think people need to realize that the UK and Europe are two very, very different things right now. UK has clearly shown it will align itself with the US, starmer had the chance to back Canada (you know, the country who’s head of state is the king) and didn’t.

Starmer announced an increase in the defence budget the other day, so I think he knew this was coming and also realises the need for Europe to do the same. I don't agree he didn't back Canada, I think he just played it safe. I also think he handled himself well throughout the visit and especially when he corrected Trump. I can't remember any of the Tory bootlickers doing that.

No doubt Kier will side with Donald, but since his re-election I've seen him comment on Trump being wrong a few times, as have a fair few MP's from the three main parties, I think many are frightened and also very tired of Trump part 2 already.

Bugs bunny gif of cutting away Florida now should just be cutting the US away from the world

You must lead a very sheltered life.
My point was that people probably don't care enough to want to pay for it themselves. I'm not sure where the argument is... I think we're agreeing?

In Hindsight, IMO is the only thing he could do and is a win for him (inside a lose -lose situation) because US was never taking Ukraine's side. He knew it from the beginning. He had to play ball till this happened. If he at any step of the way would be the one backing off, Trump would have the perfect excuse.

Zelensky cornered Trump and this charade happened. Probably will amount to nothing, but is the only way where Europe can see that Trump-america is a farce and the whole world except MAGA likes have 100% sympathy towards zelensky and Ukraine which would put European countries in a better position to implement some sacrifices if they decide to go all in supporting Ukraine without US

There was only this path, which is more likely to end in success but the only one that has a slim possibility

I can't imagine this making a dent in his support, they only care about domestic issues at the best of times, to think that americans will care about a war, where zero US soliders are involved, is fantasy.

To put into perspective, Bush launched a war, where thousands of americans died, and he still got re-elected, not to mention the war was based on BS, but i suppose that was found out later.

I knew what Trump was like before today but I’d never really paid much attention to Vance, man he’s a little weasel isn’t he.

My issue was more with the suggestion the rich should pay for it, maybe I misunderstood but it seemed you were suggesting this was not a good argument.

Most people I know care about to ukraine, but you can't ask people who are struggling to keep their homes, pay energy, food and medicine to make more sacrifices for a country the other side of the continent. That's just not how humans work. Banks, energy companies and pharmaceutical companies keep reporting record profits, at least in portugal, so telling the rich to pay for it is exactly what people should demand.

Imagine your country being shot to pieces for years and some fat faced yankee cnut asks you, why don't you wear a suit?

I'd completely understand if he had beath the shit out of that reporter there.

Same for those silver spoon millionaire bully cnuts in charge of the US. Feck em, seriously. Which they'd die.
I was completely unsurprised to find out that reporter's apparently going out with Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Thing is. feck it. Let them have their idiotic president. Important is how Europe reacts. We have to start cutting ties with the US.

I wonder if it will be this year or next year that Putin invites himself to the White House and Trump rolls out the red carpet and vol-au-vants

At this point, US not directly aiding Russia and just staying out of it, would be a win.

Stronger Europe comes out of it, is the positive i can see.

I might hate Vance more than Trump.

Maybe it's just familiarity: I'm used to Trump but Vance's unique brand of condescending sliminess is utterly disgusting.

Vance is much worse. Trump obviously has some severe personality disorder. Vance is a greedy opportunist. He knows exactly what he's doing.

In DND terms I'd say Trump is chaotic evil and Vance is lawful evil. Both shite, but the latter is more evil.

In some parallel universe, I’d love to see our king revoke his invitation. What a message that would send.
