Burr hasn't always been a big fan of Trump so the fact the likes of Tucker Carlson are also calling for his resignation alone has some ulterior motives attached - at least that seems a logical conclusion to draw.

He was told how serious it was and the profound impact it would have on both public health and the economy. His response to that news was not to advise the public to prepare themselves accordingly or even to hold his counsel but instead to propagate lies about it not being a big deal which has clearly contributed to the public’s nonchalant attitude to the virus. Its hard to argue that his motive was anything other than personal gain.

Politicians routinely get around this by claiming their portfolios are managed by 3rd parties who make the decisions. So unless Burr and the others implicated are actually found to have contacted their portfolio managers to specifically tell them to sell stock, then I don't think much will come of this.

It also should be noted that the UK are well behind in the US's response to the Pandemic and least Trump is fast tracking (3 weeks for a cheque probably not that fast) money to every American under $75k a year, i can actually see why he has a highish approval rate here - forgrtting the facts that he lied, fired the CDC response team, knew about the failings to handle a pandemic since he first started his Presidency...
