Memorial Day got me thinking: when was the last just war the US was involved in? WW2, Korean War? Invasion of Grenada

It was. I have to say that Macron looks on all these public events that get international attention so much at ease in his role (not just today) that it's hard to tell he's a newbie. A good blend of focus, composure and coolness. It was awkward and funny at the same. Putin wasn't comfortable.
Macron is a badass
A bit more from Merkel on her now famous beer tent rally comment: She clarified today* that 'we' (as in German govemment) remain convinced Atlanticists but really have to take our destiny into our own hands.
This is interpreted as distancing herself / Germany from the Trump administration but not from America per se.
* She held a speech somewhere, didn't seem to be a campaign rally to me but another event.
A good read, but this next one is definitely FAKE NEWS!
I'm not buying that at all.
In fairness to May, the UK need someone as a powerful ally after the Brexit crap. So I can understand the PM sucking up to a con man in Trump. I presume most of Europe is appalled at the UK though I could be wrong.
A Danger to the WorldIt's Time to Get Rid of Donald Trump
Donald Trump has transformed the United States into a laughing stock and he is a danger to the world. He must be removed from the White House before things get even worse.
Der Spiegel have fought many political battles ever since they were founded, but since his inauguration, they are particularly sharp on Twitler.WOW! 100% spot on, but just wow reading a headline like that. Bravo that man!

I see. The editorial you posted is from the editor-in-chief Klaus Brinkbäumer. Just in case you don't know and are interested, their chief correspondent from the US is Matthieu von Rohr. I don't follow him but I know he's active on twitter. It's become my favourite read since the start of all this. Probably the only one that really says it how it sees it. Or has the balls to say it how everyone sees it.

During a studio interview after completing the Library of Congress portrait, the artist spoke about the challenges of painting Donald Trump. “The man is the most fidgety subject I’ve ever tried to paint. I’ve had 3-year-olds sitting for me who had more patience, self-control, and maturity than Trump.
“At one point, he started playing with his cowlick and my hair person needed an hour to get it back in place. Another time, when I begged him to sit still, he actually urinated in his suit pants, then blamed me, ‘You artsy-fartsy bitch,’ he yelled, ‘how can you expect me to sit for four minutes straight without moving!? Now look at what you made me do.’ Honestly, no goddamn way would I ever be in the same room with that juvenile man-boy again. I’d have better luck getting Speedy Gonzalez to hold still.”
While the president remains silent regarding the deaths of two brave Americans who stood up against verbal abuse from an alt-right guy, the 'other America' raises money for the families of the victims.

A German politician shouting is exactly what you'd expect before WW3 breaks out. FFS.
Is that campaign talks or something changed?
No, it was a pretty good verbatim translation, just way out of sync. The subtitles were far ahead of what Schulz was saying at the time. Those subtitles really fecked me up, I know my German is rusty but a native German speaker back me up here, they were at best a paraphrase of what he was saying right?
Yeah the subtitles are a little messed up. He's basically saying that no freely elected representative of any nation needs to accept Trumps attempt to humiliate them in the manor that he attempted to humiliate Merkel. (And that he says so despite currently running to replace her). Those subtitles really fecked me up, I know my German is rusty but a native German speaker back me up here, they were at best a paraphrase of what he was saying right?
Germany (not just Merkel), France and the rest of Europe (not including the U.K.) seem to think in that direction, but I will be glad to hear others' opinions here.

Not sure what he is referring to though, haven't been up to date with the news the last couple of days.
The captions just weren't timed properly. He seemed to speak a couple of seconds ahead of what was captioned.
