I have sympathy for anyone considering how to remove this guy from the WH and/or 45's circles.

 
There's a scene from Boyz N The Hood where Furious Styles goes on a rant to the streets kids about why there's a liquor store on each corner. The point he was making is just so obvious today from the Republicans, except it's not just black neighbourhoods they are targeting, it's the poor, the elderly, the immigrants, anyone who isn't rich. It's tough watching this, it's the complete and utter destruction and erosion of people's lives and liberties and the environment, science and discovery.

In the last month Trump has imposed racist travel bans, is destroying the health system for lots and lots of people, completely stripped the EPA's budget making them pretty much sterile, destroyed laws that protected streams and rivers from pollution from coal mines, removed laws that tested for methane and dangerous emissions from fracking sites, removed clean water protection, stopped the funding for the NASA satellites that record information about climate change, allowed mentally ill people to buy guns, taken away protection of people's retirement plans, upset half the world's leaders, Put Iran on notice for feck all yet pretty much ignored North Korea's launching of missiles, said he wants to buy more nukes, lied constantly, over dinner he ordered a failed raid that cost the life of innocent women and children and one Navy Seal, accused the former President of tapping his phones, banned certain members of the press from a news conference, said he supports a two state or one state solution between Israel and Palestine, and then there is Russia. What have I missed?

To all those who said wait until he has done something................... Um.... What do you have to say now?
 
So the republicans have released their new amazing alternative to ACA:

Basically they:
  • Are going to make abortions as difficult as possible and make sure that it receives no government money
  • Remove the penalties for not having health insurance, they disguise this as "freedom to choose", but in the end it will only inflate prices again
  • Move important benefits like maternity from a federal to a state level, which means if the state decides to remove it it would become insanely expensive
  • Income subsidies will be replaced with age subsidies, which is just fecking insane. Some fat old CEO with diabetes would therefore get cheaper healthcare than say a child with leukemia
  • Overall less federal funding
  • Removal of taxes on the wealthy, which is a significant amount of money.
As a European, i just can fathom how people in the US can handle this shite. Why are they getting away with this? Why the feck are they so afraid of socialized, universal health care?

The great irony here is that a lot of people who voted for Trump is going to get fecked over by this

So I see the 'moral' Repubs like McCain and Graham are all of a sudden OK with the new travel ban. Why? Because they removed Iraq from the list? :lol: How heartening to see their affection for the country. :rolleyes:

The new order seems much better to me and most of the "immoral" and controversial parts of the first version are removed. I'd guess that's why they are ok with it.

I think companies should be allowed to outsource, making the product cheaper to produce and alowing them to be more competitive in the global market. I really fail to see the issue of outsourcing jobs. If someone can do the same work for cheaper then why go the more expensive route. I don't mean manufacturing. I mean multi nationals out sourcing a country's administration off shore to increase their profit margins. It doesn't benefit their clients what so ever, ultimately the only ones to benefit are the shareholders and ultimately it's not sustainable. Hope I've made clear the point I'm trying to make. I suspect that Trump has other intentions in mind.
 
If true, this is just crazy. Genius really, if you want stir up right wing nationalism fervor in Europe and the US. A Russian TV crew is being accused of paying youths in a troubled Stockholm subburb to cause trouble on film. I'm sure the idea would be to capture these immigrant youths stirring up trouble in the Swedish 'hoods and then get the footage out on the white right wing anger circuit all over Europe and the United States. Where is this all going to end?

It excludes already approved refugees and green card holders and also does not give priority to religious minorities. Those were probably the most unjust things about the first order.
