   HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAA Shit, sorry, I thought Mexico was paying for it?

What a bunch of clowns.

Although the article isn't funny, it's really sad when you see what the Republican cnuts denied Obama money for :(

It's the paradox of the Republican party. A group who believe in low taxes and deregulation...but who also want all the benefits of military spending and interventionism, and who like to interfere in people's lives when it suits their own agenda.

I don't exactly agree with full-on fiscally conservative libertarian ideology, but at least those who espouse it are consistent. Republicans want a big state without having to raise taxes to provide for it. Morons.

Looks like some in media have overblown/hyped up this story.

I take everything with a pinch of salt these days. Seems to be some ongoing twitter and forum wars about who can be the most "disgusted", "genuinely horrified", "scared" and "seriously worried" these days. All getting a bit tiresome.

Head over to Staten Island! Will be different.

I did that once, but only because a couple of Navy destroyers were on display there during Fleet week. Don't look forward to going back, looks like rural america (not a Starbucks in sight, just Dunkin Donuts. Ugh).

Everything clicks into place if you assume they actually just believe in enriching themselves.

With half of them, I'm not even sure what they believe anymore. It's not as if a Democrat government is even that left-wing, or particularly against wealth creation, capitalistic practices etc. I kind of wonder if most of the Republicans got into the party out of a vague sense of patriotism/belief in Republican ideas and sort of became so obsessed and cult-like over the years they've forgotten what it was they ever actually stood for. Because their ideology falls apart if you even begin to poke it with a stick.

I can't help but think the Mexican government is revelling in how easy it currently is for them to distract from any issues at home.

I think that's pretty much it. 2 decades of Fox news now? Parroting that to be patriotic is to support the troops, be wary of foreigners, wary of minorities, wary of Democrats... Economic policy was pretty much never truly an issue.

I've already explained this. Republicans and working class white folk DON'T hate government handouts or subsidies - they just hate it when 'others' get them.

Southern states which are about as red as you can get - are on the whole 'takers' rather than 'givers'. Yet, when it comes to voting, there they are bitching and crying. Democrats and entitlements have saved them from themselves for decades. But with Republicans now controlling everything...lets see how these retards enjoy losing their safety net.

According to the article Air Force One Mysteries Solved, the top speed is 650 miles per hour (about 0.85 mach). Not wanting to pick nits, but I'd say that it depends. The VC-25s are 747-200Bs, which according to the 747 Wikipedia page, have a maximum speed of 594mph, Mach 0.84 at cruising altitude of 35,000 feet.

I stand corrected , fecking hate that Burley woman.

Fair enough.

Especially the Russians...until, wait, nah, not the Russians anymore...they're suddenly okay, it seems.

Yeah, I'm with you mate. I struggle to understand the abhorrence towards so called socialists/communists/liberals (they all seem to fall under the same name) yet they rely so heavily on state supported military, police and fire services that they adore too. Then the complete hypocrisy of the Pro-Life groups yet they are against any form of gun control and for the death penalty and ok with people dying from having no healthcare or benefits. I can't work it out, and gave up trying years ago. I think @Ubik hit the nail on the head, self enrichment and i'm alright Jack, feck the rest of you, is the only way to look at them. But then many say they are Christians and that goes against their beliefs so round and round we go again.

Fox never parroted about the Russians, only about the terrorists... so now the Russians say they're against the terrorists, and they're also against gay people? 'Dem Russians must be alright.

The corruption just doesn't stop.

'I'm gonna be the most corrupt president ever, believe me. Believe me. Im gonna be so corrupt it's ridiculous. You'll love it. It's gonna be just wonderful.'

 Come on TrumpleThinSkin, bite you fecker, bite!

I love this guy's trolling.

Again another paradox of their ideology. They're all about emphasising how great American individualism and capitalism is...until they realise that capitalism has winners and losers, and that they can often lose. Then they're more than willing, as you say, for the government to take a greater role in moderating immigration etc.

Without wanting to act too superior (just a bit), I was educated in catholic school but have pretty much been an atheist since my teens (nothing so corrupt can be so holy). I was an exchange student in the US south as a teen, evangelical land. I didn't recognize much of the christianity I was taught in their sermons and values there... (I think this point has been made multiple times in the past here too).

He's uploading videos aswell

Very true. Suddenly the big bad Americans are appearing particularly aggressive and confrontational, and any government who stands up to that is likely to be quite popular. Whole thing is an utter mess though...US/Mexican relations deteriorating rapidly surely cannot be good.

We won't, May is awful.
But, she looks so imposing and authoritative

Not really, it would cost about 40billion if done properly and could run much higher if costs are overrun. The US has little leverage over Mexico since both countries would be harmed if they got into a trade/tariff problem.

The wall was practically his biggest campaign promise, and with that in mind $40billion isn't really that much relative to the US budget (which is around $4 trillion). If it's as vital as Trump supporters seem to think, they can easily afford it. Especially since Trump supporters claim the wall will save the US the money they allegedly spend on illegals. I don't think Trump supporters care about the money anyway, they just love the bullying part of it, that's why they want Mexico to pay.

Yep, for all our rhetoric we've had a history of bending over with vigour to the US. Blair with Bush probably being the best example. Doubt May will be any different.

The fact the UK is leaving the EU has put us in such a shit position that, rather than showing some integrity and distancing ourselves from Trump, May has said she is hoping for "The special relationship" once again.

Is that everyone's idea of an independant "Great Britain"? It just goes to show that we're not big enough or important enough to stand completely on our own and we've left a reasonably good relationship and having to jump into a poisonous one to survive. Grim.

@sammsky1
I'm happy to hear NYC is defiant but would also question if that's a city / east coast thing as others have indicated.

Unfortunately I don't find it but a couple months ago in the election thread, somebody had posted a very insightful link to a blog post. The author - a guy from the country who had moved to Chicago IIRC - described the hostility of country people against city people whom they perceive as morally rotten, unfaithful, sinners, sons of the devil and what not - not exactly in these words but you get the idea. If this guy is correct, which the election kinda proved, I assume muslims in smaller cities and villages will have a tough time.

Let's get this straight. A two thousand mile wall will cost a lot more then 40 billion.

On Sky News (!) AKA Brexit TV, two experts (one from a think tank, one from university IIRC) questioned if there was ever a special relationship and were both convinced that whatever deal is struck, it would be the US that wins, not necessarily the UK.

It is a lot when you include the fact that the money in the budget has already been spoken for and there is a massive national debt. Republicans, who have crafted a reputation of less spending and balancing the books (national budget) will not be interested in blowing that much money, especially as its not practical to build a wall over territory where there are rivers, valley, and canyons in the way.

This blame game is tedious. You can just start here in the long list of things to blame if you like:
