The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

So how many executive orders do you think The Moron will pass in his first month in charge? And how long before everyone, including his own supporters get really pissed off at him taking the piss? Also, he's now in breach of the Emoluments clause AND has serious conflicts of interest as apparently he's still in charge of all his businesses. Surely he won't be allowed to get away with that?

I doubt the protectionism piece will ever be realized. Its more so a clever marketing ploy for Trump to appeal to blue collar voters. All this stuff about China and Mexico, renegotiating NAFTA etc will never be realized since he has to deal with knock on effects of protectionism and tariffs.

As for infrastructure, its a great way to renew crumbling roads, bridges etc while creating a feck load of new jobs, so that's pretty much a no brainer.
That also gets to one of my biggest issues with the current GOP. Unless they're going to privately contract out the infrastructure projects, they will be engaging in blatant hypocrisy what with all the government spending (read in 2008 as "socialism") to finance the projects.

Not sure if these figures are legitimo, look about right from pictures though.

Probably unfair to compare to someone genuinely popular like Obama though, wonder what W's were like.

The Trump White House website has removed: ■LGBT rights ■climate change ■healthcare ■civil rights ■women's issues.

 Cnuts.

Edit! Also removed are pages about disabilities and help provided to those with them.

I've been at an event at the exact location with 215000. It was a nightmare to get to even though I'm local. I did the same metro route this morning and the route was totally empty. And I mean totally empty. I'm amazed they had as many as 250000. Looking at metro I thought theyd have less than 100000.

I read somewhere yesterday that he had only appointed 61 people to positions out of over 640 that needed to be filled. It sounds like a fecking shambles to me.
The stands outside the white House were empty today. Another cock up. They'll come good eventually... Right?

Edit this is the stand. A prime spot. Timing messed up or something.

Trump's talking to the soldiers in Afghanistan. They are just introducing themselves and he keeps thanking them for the easy questions. 5 soldiers and not a single question. :wenger:

They also led the charge in the Progressive Era. T.R. is my favorite president.

Yeah, tbf even their pro-military and business stance drove the growth of the US in the roaring 20s, before it all went tits up.

Something went seriously wrong with that party. T.R were probably the last unquestionably good GOP president ( Ike could be, although his stance regarding SEA leading to 'Nam was a blemish)

Amazing really, in the UK, a new Government basically spends 2 years doing what the previous Government enacted and even then, can't really sneeze without a Commons vote.

In the US, can they really just come in and do what they like?

Isn't that how Nazi Germany started?

Not quite. The Weimar Republic had a rather flawed constitution, which gave the Reichskanzler too much power. First and foremost the option of dictatorship in a case of 'emergency', which, of course, Hitler used only months after his election.

There's a newb who has been arguing that Nazi Germany was pretty good for the average German.

Melania looks so unhappy. Her face as she was being escorted to the stage yesterday, all in her powder blue ensemble - pictures say a thousand words. As soon as she walked outside and the people could see her, she forced a huge smile.

He's a Nazi then, most likeky.

I mean, Hitler's rise to dictator entailed a complete nullification of civil rights. Pretty good, right?

Well if anyone knows him it's her. She might just be hating all this attention and knows it is not going to be good attention.
