It's self-destruction mode at this point. He has no one to keep him in check and most of this campaign and White House staff are just buying their time till January. They know they're on the Endeavour just waiting for the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman to obliterate them in November.

Is Biden Dutch?

Freedom of speech is one of the most commonly misused terms of the moment.

It's not just of the moment. I remember about 7 years ago as a forum mod having to patiently explain to an American that no I wasn't restricting his second amendment rights by limiting his posting on a private forum.

He was shooting his mouth off?

The whole notion of 'discovery' in this context is Euro-centric to begin with, because there were people who has been living there for thousands of years of before Columbus arrived. I'm sure they didn't need a 'discovery' by Columbus to validate their existence.
Very true @GlastonSpur on this point we do agree

Crickets!

Trump has such a self-pitying, paranoiac, whining, victim mentality.

The list of individuals and organisations has has blamed for his troubles in the last year alone must run into the thousands. Today the list includes the local media in Iowa, the Black Lives Matter movement, Facebook and Twitter. Tomorrow it might well be Denmark (for refusing to sell Greenland), the Boy Scouts of America (for allowing gay Scout Leaders) and the Secret Service (probably for providing too much protection to Biden).

I read an interview with The Mooch with a Norwegian business newspaper and I found one quote, in particular, interesting:

What happens if Trump is re-elected?

We'll enter a long American winter. He will intensify his rhetoric and continue his attacks. He has already leveraged the judicial system to his advantage and that will only continue. He will probably get rid of Mike Pence and install Ivanka as his VP during the 2nd or 3rd year (of his 2nd term) - then he will resign a few months before the election in order to nominate his daughter on behalf of the party.

It sounds insane, but then again it makes perfect sense.

Nope. Ancestry is Irish.

American Presidents of Dutch descent:
Van Buren
Teddy Roosevelt
FDR

Think I heard something about the Bushes having some Dutch roots too.
Native speaker actually, wasn't he?

(Focusing on the real issues here!)

Good save :D

That quote though, the scary thing is that I find it perfectly plausible.

Yep. If Trump wins, I'm not 100% sure there's only one America by the time retire. I'm 95% sure, but that 5% is scary. Of course, how would you even divide it, when the political divide is more about rural/urban than strictly geographical (as in states). Maybe it's more likely that the US has a slow descent into semi-authoritarianism.

Just thinking if say Trump loses the election by a landslide and possibly without doubt a Biden win, what will Trump do in the intervening months till the inauguration? I can't recall what most former Presidents have done.

Lots of golf I’d imagine.

He'll get a big red stamp with "ECK SECK CUE TIF ORDER" written on it and go berserk with every piece of paper put on his desk.

Well, the last president to lose a reelection campaign was Bush senior in 1992 - the rules of the game have changed a lot since then. Hopefully Trump would just do nothing.

He won't care if it's a landslide defeat and without doubt. He'll deny both of those things, refuse to concede, launch a thousand law-suits ,dog-whistle the far-right militias and call on both the police and military to back him.

He will go to any lengths, bar none, to try and avoid being removed. IMO there will be chaos, wide-spread violence, murder, arson, kidnappings and more. I hope I'm wrong.
