I was hoping to get in before the "nothing will come of this" posts.

Can a mod put some code in so that any "we go him" post autocompletes with "but nothing will come of this"?

Kind of like YAWN, but more orange.

Yeah, it's not very original - my bad. Compared to other recent headlines about the Donald, this actually does seem pretty big, but it is also very hard to see it having any real kind of effect, when everyone are so entrenched in their positions. Pretty depressing.

fecking hell, how is that even being allowed? That's barely disguised codeword for nutters to show up with long guns and scare the minorities from polling stations.

He seems to have done very little today other than retweet a bazillion people who are talking about his Nobel nomination. He's so thin skinned it's unreal.

Who is listening to this shit?
His nominees are from hell.
You lot need to vote.

Finally the pivot revealed

I’ve sat and held my wife for an hour as she 1000 yard stared at a wall and cried after bad shifts treating this virus... and that fecking bastard knew since the beginning of February. I wouldn’t piss on him to put a fire out. What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Not only would it put the fire out, but he'd get off on it too.

After reading the book excerpts....If I didn’t make a joke I would honestly lose it with rage.

I can’t even imagine what your wife is going through. Add that to the anguish of friends (yes, plural) who have lost parents to this shit?

They all knew and did nothing. This is Pelosi, visiting Chinatown on Feb 24, calling the situation safe. She received the exact same briefings as Trump.

We are pawns on their political chessboard. They want us to be outraged and go after each other. Divided and weak.

Where did you get the idea that the speaker of the house receives the sames briefings as the President?

She was saying the situation in the China Town area of her own city was safe as anywhere else in late February. At that time, I think there had been 15 confirmed cases in the entire US and the first death was reported a day later. The situation did seem fairly safe at that time, as there hadn't been very much testing, and only after did they realise that cases were going unreported and unnoticed.

Some of the best epidemiologists in the World weren’t worried one bit on Feb 24th in fairness. Goes for many a country.

Blame the WHO for that. They downplayed the danger until the virus had spread globally. They must have known first, they had feet on the ground and were working closely with the Chinese from day 1. Many experts simply publicly followed these guidelines. If you weren't worried as an expert epidemiologist by Feb 24, you're simply unfit for the job. The virus had already peaked in China weeks before that and caused casualties in multiple countries around the world. Here''s a recap on the timeline:

But if Trump knew before, so did she. Same access to CIA/FBI/NSA intelligence. It's either both or neither.

Holy shit dude, how do the Rothschilds let you walk around with this information?

National Security Act of 1947. Speaker of the House receives same intelligence as the President. Checks and Balances between Legislative and Executive Branch.

Yeah... no, that's not how it works and there's a reason why they had to create the permanent congressional intelligence committees after the watergate. Some agencies were doing their own thing with the President without any congressional oversight. And it's still a problem especially regarding the timeframe. The hill doesn't even receive a copy of the presidential daily brief.

Wait until you find out she went to a hair salon recently and removed her mask. Clear sign of corruption to the highest levels of the Men in Black.

That's not what the law says. Besides, remember how some members of senate were chastised for insider trading following information they got from Covid-19 briefing in January? Pelosi outranks them all. Which makes it unlikely that Pelosi knew nothing on February 24. If you have hard information on the opposite, please post sources.

I'm not saying the hill doesn't get any intel or doesn't spread it around when it shouldn't. I'm just saying they don't get everything. It's even writtent in black and white on the CIA website.

https://www.cia.gov/library/center-...kers-congress-as-a-user-of-intelligence/3.htm

It starts with : " There are no written rules, agreed to by both branches, governing what intelligence will be shared with the Hill or how it will be handled. "

It starts with : " There are no written rules, agreed to by both branches, governing what intelligence will be shared with the Hill or how it will be handled. "

"Classified intelligence reports(1) are routinely provided only to the committees that have responsibilities in the national security area.(2) Members of these committees receive preference from the Intelligence Community in satisfying their requests on an individual basis. Among the national security committees, the intelligence committees and their Members are accorded preferential treatment, as discussed below.

The leadership in each chamber--the Majority and Minority Leaders of the Senate and the Speaker and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives--are ex officio members of their respective intelligence committees and have access to intelligence held by the committees."

This means highest clearance for any intelligence available to Congress for Pelosi as Speaker of the House. That means she has received at the very least the same briefing on January 24th that caused several senators to sell stocks and invest in personal protection equipment companies (aka hazmat suits, masks etc, DuPont). They knew what was coming. To then walk through Chinatown a month later, after the outbreak had already started in the US, is inexcusable, especially in the light of how hard NYC was hit.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet: Barr has the DOJ intervene in the rape case brought forward by Carroll against Trump. In 2019, Trump responded by calling her a liar, after which Carroll sued him for defamation. And so now the DOJ is trying the following:

Attorney General William Barr is once again going to bat for President Donald Trump, taking the unusual step of seeking to substitute the U.S. government for Trump as the defendant in a defamation lawsuit brought against him by a woman who claimed he raped her in the 1990s.

If the Justice Department’s request is approved, it will be responsible for defending the case, and the U.S. government would have to cover any damages that may be awarded ― all, ultimately, on the taxpayers’ dime.

For the full story, with lots of tweets and further background, see here. Among those tweets, this one seems to summarize the legal situation (and insanity of Barr's action):

A clear abuse of power. It's amazing that something as egregious as this is now par for the course, won't have any consequences for either Trump or Barr, and might not even become a major story (or last more than one day).

Law & Order!
