We had a guy at my work - a VP - who was off sick for six months. The big boss, instead of getting a replacement in, decided to take over his daily tasks during this time. About a month into this guy's six months sick leave we got an announcement saying he had left the organisation. It turned out that he had spent two years doing next to absolutely feck all and when the boss found this out, presumably by going through all the projects he had said he had completed and realised none of them were done, he must have been fired.
I like to think that Biden is going to get in to the White House and find that there's no evidence of anything that Trump has done in a similar manner. Just a drawer full of lottery tickets and ball polish.

It’s so weird how he says one thing officially and then completely off the record says another thing entirely. I’d never accuse his base of critical thinking but surely they must question on the most basic of levels why he isn’t half as strong in his official capacity as he is on Twitter?

The problem in part is that if you are CEO of a large company, not attending an invitation to speak to the president and garner some favour could be seen as being somewhat negligent/not doing the best for your company. Although I'd probably look for a way to decline the invitation, that's probably only one more reason why I'll never be CEO of a large company.
That said, I just looked at the video to see who all was there. It's a fairly lightweight crew as far as the restaurant industry goes (I cover it financially as part of my job). Only the CEO of RBI (Burger King owner) is there from the big groups. No one is there from McDonald's, YUM brands (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell), Darden (Olive Garden), Brinker (Chilli's), Starbucks. So it does seem like quite a few didn't want to show up.

That I don't know, you could probably pull it off without the ass kissing. I was just glad that the executives that I think are the best people in the industry didn't even show up, so I don't have to review my views on them yet
