Sounds like his resignation speech.

Why is his syntax always a nightmare?

How would it be "against the odds" to decide to run for president??

"Very legal and very cool" - well I'm sold. A feckin bridge.

"Lightly looked at". I cannot believe he has actually said that. Someone please check if his lawyers ok.

So all this talk of Trump knows his time is up and Mueller is going to bring him down any day now! etc etc. I'm sorry, but I've been reading that since the first week of his presidency. His time is not up and the tone in his Tweets has been similar since the turn of the century. Trump ain't going nowhere, no matter how badly we want him to. And to be honest, I give him a perfectly good chance to win a second term.

But hey, maybe God will do us a favor in meantime..

I'm not convinced he's going down yet, but this has been a significant week for the case. There's a very good chance he just lied to Mueller in writing, and Don Jr looks seriously, seriously fecked.

I can't think of anyone else over the age of 6 who are so transparent when lying. I'm sure the reference has been made but he's that kid with chocolate smeared over his face that says "No I didn't eat the chocolate because I was on the other side of the room at the time eating a sandwich and I don't even like chocolate".

Sort of:

Trump is basically the 3 year old who says "I didn't eat the chocolate biscuits" before his mum even realises the biscuits are gone.

:)

Translation: Mueller is against the American entrepreneurial spirit.

He may have a point here. A Trump tower in Moscow has not been built, no evidence it is being built and no evidence that it got beyond the “enquiry” stage. Which in itself is fine because nothing illegal about building one in Moscow at all... if he isn’t president. When he became president looks like the idea was dropped which is fine again.

Nobody has said he's going to be brought down imminently. Everyone seems to accept he won't be impeached.
However, looking at it objectively, there's a good chance he has no Trump org by the time his presidency ends and there's a fair chance he faces prosecution then.

I doubt it. I hope so, but I doubt it.

But hey, I've been wrong before. Hell, I'm wrong most of the time, so who knows.

It's all about the big picture though. I see on twitter that there was a letter of intent he signed? Combined with meetings with very shady people, oligarchs buying his US properties for crazy prices, denying he knew or met Putin when he did plus his idiot sons saying that money was pouring in from Russia and you have a very, very dodgy pattern emerge.

In isolation, I don't think it was illegal (though I believe at the time there were sanctions in place limiting/preventing doing business with Russian entities but still). Regardless, it's not building a Trump Tower Moscow alone that's a potential problem. It's the sum of the parts. Cohen lied to Congress about this for a reason. He accepted a plea deal admitting he lied about this for a reason. The alternatives are much bigger / worse. The Mueller investigation has already laid bare the Russian government's efforts to sway the US election through hacking emails, social media manipulation, and bogus advertising. Russia did all that, took all those risks for good reason. They had plenty to gain from Trump becoming POTUS instead of Hillary (or anyone else really).

And now we're seeing what was in it for DJT and his family. It's always been the simplest, most obvious explanation for the weird behavior towards Russia/Putin and now it's coming to light.

I don't understand how any person not of caucasian skin tone be a member/supporter of the GOP. They are openly trying to keep minorities from voting/taking part in democratic processes. Dems aren't much better overall but there is a difference there.

I don't understand how anyone who makes less than $200k a year can support the GOP. If you are not rich they do not represent you.

Most people don't vote based on economic self-interest though, they vote based on moral values. And even then some people believe that economics starts and stops with Hayek and Friedman so they naively believe the 'invisible hand' of laissez-faire economics actually works.

Forgive me for not seeing the morality of the GOP.

Errrm.... Donnie isn’t Caucasian anymore to be fair.

Forgive me for not seeing the morality of the GOP.

I know you are joking but here is a basic list of conservative morality from Lakoff:

  • • God above Man
    • Man above Nature
    • The Disciplined (Strong) above the Undisciplined (Weak)
    • The Rich above the Poor
    • Employers above Employees
    • Adults above Children
    • Western culture above other cultures
    • America above other countries
    • Men above Women
    • Whites above Nonwhites
    • Christians above non-Christians
    • Straights above Gays
And this is an interesting read on the subject:
