The question I keep asking the seemingly more rational Republicans I know, to no satisfactory response, if he's *not* a racist and white nationalist (as many of them contend), what exactly is it about Trump that has gotten him the full support of the nutjobs? In recent times, no mainstream US politician was ever embraced by the extremists the way Trump has been. And nobody has done more to embolden these kinds of people. He's given them the figurehead they always wanted and now they have the platform they need to spread their message.
Hopefully the backlash continues against them, hard and heavy, before more people get hurt.
