I've done Guards of Honour for heads of state. Usually when they inspect it's just a quick walk down the line and something like 'oooh you all look lovely"

Are you really this stupid or just trying to WUM?

Trump's subconscious support base. Unfortunately he's not a WUM. This is all too common and all too serious. :(

Stupid is another question to which the answer is yes. :)

For Londoners, he's been an absolute racist cnut to their mayor. Scotland hates him because of the whole golf course fiasco. And people generally don't like the cnut either.
Ah, forgot that.

Are you really this stupid or just trying to WUM?
No, just wondering if it was because he's a cnut or they have anything personal. Forgot the mayor and golf incidents.

If you are seriously asking that question then you've no business being in this thread. Something I'd expect from a 12 year-old.

But I see it's more about idiocy since you imagine that a hundred thousand people have a personal beef with Trump.

"Forgot" ??????

It's not just about London. The protest is about him being a cnut to Americans mainly. Women and minorities.

It’s incredible that after everything that has been said, done and attempted to do since right from the start of his campaign to this day, that someone really has the gall to ask “why would people from the uk protest against trump”

The better question should be why is he not met with protests anytime he visits any foreign country (yes I’m aware this is not practical). Well done to the protestors in London and elsewhere I say.

We're headed towards idiocracy and the film was prophetic albeit coincidentally that it would start in Murica. The likes of Massive Spanner and Edgar are the first wave. I pity my kids, I really do.

so many liars about.

Americans need to catch a grip of themselves and the lies

I don't like Trump but I don't get the point of the protest quite honestly. The government aren't going to say: "Gosh, we didn't realise he's so unpopular, let's invent a time machine and dis-invite him" nor is Trump going to say "Gosh, I didn't realise I was so unpopular, let's invent a time machine and never come in the first place". There isn't a specific policy anyone's campaigning for or protesting against. It's just an excuse for a protest because Trump's a bit of a wanker, which is fair enough - and true. But the effectiveness of protesting has been watered down to homeopathic levels already and that's only made worse but a protest that isn't really anything else than a bit of a gathering of people who think someone's a bit of a tosspot.

A collection of people with more than a semblance of agreement that someone else is a prick, isn't really a protest worthy of the name, is it?

"What do we want?"
- Well some of us dislike how he treats women, others are concerned about his treatment of immigrants. Meanwhile a good portion think he colluded with Russia to steal the US elections and are miffed at his scant disregard for truth and his attacks on the media. We have no specific demands to spell out right now but if you spoke to all of us I'm sure you could compile a list of grievances that if voted upon would reveal a core of about 3 or 4 key aims that we'd like the administration to adopt.
"Oh um...so when do we want it?"
- Never really, we just thought it'd be a nice day out.

Bit lame, isn't it?

Let’s just all roll over and let him get on with it without any argument. He should be free to do whatever he pleases because it doesn’t matter what we do anyway.

Maybe apply the same logic to your protestations against Corbyn?

A bit of a wanker? A bit of a tosspot?

Fml. The guy is one of the biggest cnuts on the planet. He's a despicable piece of shit that has already and will continue to cost people their jobs, homes, and even lives. Worse still he is fecking up his own country on an unprecedented level and he could also do untold damage to the world too. Especially with his environmental laws, or lack of them.

Some people make him out to be akin to a fecking cartoon villain.

Oldie but goodie...

But the protest wasn't focused on any of that. It was 'opening of an envelope' protesters with 101 different grievances that just turned up for a bit of a gathering in the sun. Aside from the Iraq protest and the women's protest that are the only two in my memory that made an impact, this is just another 'protest' like the 4,000 others that'll happen between now and this time next year that aren't really about anything other than people quite liking a bit of a protest.

A protest to be effective it has to have a clear objective/cause that it wants to promote or oppose. A large group of people thinking someone is a despicable cnut for a variety of perfectly justified reasons, with all the best will in the world, isn't that. Trump's doing a fine job humiliating the government every time he opens his mouth, the whole 'we've turned up to say how much we hate someone' is almost a bit of a sideshow to all that.

I'm sure May would rather we focus on a bunch of people with banners than the actual car-crash that is the actual content of his visit so far.
