Think it's pretty obviously a bluff. A bit of showmanship from the lawyer to get more attention and test team Trump. If she had video of them, she would have definitely brought it up during the initial NDA to increase her bargaining power.
My guess is it'll be something minor like a recorded call or text messages.

The thing is though, in the court of public opinion the only thing that matters is that Trump hasn't responded and looks weak. It was lamentable during the election that so few journalists called Trump out on his utter, utter bullshit and let him get away with saying ridiculous stuff. Avenatti is just playing him at his own game in this respect.
To be fair, that's one of the reasons the whole 'drain the swamp' (cheers Cambridge Analytica) resonated so well in the first place.
Obama, despite how relatively f*cking amazing he seems now, will always be a failure to me because he promised campaign finance reform in his first 100 days, when he had both houses, and chose not to do it. THAT would do more to fix American politics than any other bill.
It's an absolute joke that the Republicans/Trump passed a trillion-dollar tax refund for a select few, and charged it as an IOU to the next elected group. That had less than 30% popularity. Or just look at how influencial the NRA is.
All of that could have been fixed with legislation limiting how much and in what manner private individuals and companies are able to influence elections.
The Russian sanctions bit of the omnibus bill was reported before Trump signed it so I assume the people in congress would have known about it. Whether it was covered in Fox & Friends for Trump is another matter.

Court of public opinion doesn't matter because this isn't hurting him with his base. I actually think this is the one time Trump's done well by not responding. Any seasoned politician would deny and then remain silent while it played out in court.

He's in damage control after signing the appropriations bill. The conservatives I've talked to since then have jumped off the Trump train (or are on the verge of doing so) over the past 48 hours.
