The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

Yea me too. It started to change for me around the time those wikileaks documentaries came out where founders and team members we criticising him after they had left. I believe they were saying he had his own agendas and was using Wikileaks in a way that made them uncomfortable.

This was fecking ages ago too. Is there anyone here that still takes him and wikileaks seriously?
Yep, he used wikileaks not to serve the truth, but his own agenda.

Doesn’t change the fact that he might be right on this one. It’s just the style that is disgusting. Not shedding a tear for McCabe though tbh.
The hypocrisy of Sessions rushing to fire McCabe for allegedly lying under oath after he has repeatedly tried to explain away his own lies under oath is glaring. It's not about McCabe in isolation but rather the selective application of the laws by this administration should be the biggest takeaway. Trump is culling anyone in the administration who pushes back on him and now he's strong-arming those who remain to do what they can to protect him. It reeks and hopefully the public sees it that way.

Firing McCabe two days before he retires is a bit of a cnuts thing to do but it was the recommendation of the OIG. For those not familiar with the OIG they are fiercely independent and have no political biased. Chances are there will be legal action and he will get his pension reinstated. It was actually a very poor decision by Trump/Sessions because its just another bad media story that makes them look like twats.

"If we've got moral torpedoes, why can't we use them?"

"Our President is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star! Ok, so he's also a porn star..."

Sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I saw this earlier today

Wow. To think the former director of the FBI and CIA respectively are publicly slamming the sitting President is incredible.

America is fecked.

What possible repurcussions can he face, if he does fire Muller?
In terms of "could" - impeachment.

In terms of "would" - if the GOP carries on with their cowardice, probably few other than more bad press and a lower approval rating.

Beyond just impeachment, the political repercussions would be bad. The Dems would get a lot more support to retake the Congress in November, which would completely change the game in terms of investigative committees, and they would probably also reinstate the independent council statute (which previously expired in 1999) to where Mueller could be reappointed to continue his work, this time outside of Trump's reach. They could also vote to impeach Trump if they have sufficient numbers in the new Congress. And of course, Trump's own agenda would be dead in the water as he would lose a big chunk of Republican support to pass any meaningful legislation.

Can't he just pick up the phone to Vlad and arrange for some polonium tea to be served to meuller... Then stick ivanka in charge of the investigation and FBI ... Drain the swamp and all that
In all honesty I'll be surprised if trump faces any charges as the end of all this... And I'll be shocked if meuller gets to retire with his pension

Mueller is already retired isn't he? He's working on a contract basis with the justice department for the special investigation.

That little thing he does where he tags in fox and friends is so pointless. His audience know who they are and are already subbed, and every body else either knows or will assume they are fake news (which they are).

But then there's a lot that he does that isn't really thought out or purposeful.
